    1. Coldplay in a fishtank

by , 02-13-2009 at 06:00 AM (Visions in the Dark)
This bit of dream from yesterday morning has the lead singer from Coldplay standing in a giant, empty, square, algae-covered fish tank, with his hands tied over is head, singing "It's hopeless, we're hopeless..." or something like that. Though it sounded like a generic Coldplay song, it isn't from any one that I can immediately identify.
    2. Two of three dreams - August 16th, 2007

by , 08-16-2007 at 05:00 AM (Visions in the Dark)
#1) First dream takes place in some sort of aquarium museum place and I am there with my parents. Even though most of the displays are situated indoors, my parents and I are dressed in winter clothing. I cannot remember anything about the beginning of the dream but I thought the end was significant though I do not know why.

As my parents and I were leaving the aquarium we stepped outside into some sort of courtyard. There was a waist-deep, square-shaped pool in the center and it had four square styrofoam floating things in it. The styrofoam things wear painted to look like rocks and had a elaborate "V" design carved into the very tops. There was a fat old man wearing a bright yellow waterproof rain pants and a white A-shirt standing near the far edge of the pool. He had a long, narrow black stick in his hand and seemed to be looking for something underneath the water.

I approached the edge of the pool and saw a young seal hidding underneath one of the floating styrofoam rocks. The seal would surface for a moment and look around, then use its teeth to pull off guaze bandages from its body, before quickly swimming back underneath the styrofoam. My parents didn't seem to notice and kept walking. I tried to ask the old man about the seal but he ignored me and kept scouring the water for whatever he was looking for, which I assumed was the seal. I watched the young seal surface and pull of some more bandages before the dream ended and I woke up.

#2) The second dream takes place at Lake Whittaker, a trailer park where my parents go every weekend in the summer. The dream seems to take place a few years ago when my parent's trailer was situated at the top of the hill by the lake side. I remember stepping out of the trailer and looking to my right. There is garbage and debris spread across the neighbouring trailer's lot. People I don't recognize from waking like are standing around looking at the mess. Even though it appears to be summer, everyone is wearing winter clothes. I walk up to the nearest person and ask where the mess came from. He says "It was a bear."

I think that is odd because bears are not native to the area. I go back into my parent's trailer for something and even though I am only inside for a few seconds, when I go back outside, the mess on the neighbouring lot has been cleaned up and the people who had gathered are dispersing. There is a bit more I think, about trying to find someone who will help me find the alleged bear or something, but I cannot remember now.
    3. Aquarium Change

      by , 07-27-1996 at 01:27 PM
Morning of July 27, 1996. Saturday.

In my dream, I own some sort of large unusual aquarium (similar to the one my brother had in real life in La Crosse at one time). My mother and oldest sister Marilyn are present in addition to my wife Zsuzsanna. After a time, an unexplainable event occurs. There is some sort of miniature “storm” or whirlpool-like event in the aquarium that is apparently being caused by some sort of unknown event occurring elsewhere (and from where, is unknown).

There is one fish in the aquarium (I am uncertain of the species) and this fish swims at an angle as far away from the turbulent water as possible. The fish remains uninjured and apparently safe thus far.

After time passes, though, the aquarium falls apart and all the water flows out (waking point). There are no longer any fish, but there are now two multicolored birds that seem to be male and female. They are either lorikeets or resplendent quetzals (or a composite of both). (My present guess in March 2015 is that they were quetzals, or composite of quetzal and hummingbird, as this is a recurring dream element for me).

The more dreams I review over a lifetime, the more the decoding comes out. Assuming these two birds were quetzals (though the entry image is of lorikeets), they would simply represent my wife and I as “ascended” on at least one in-dream level (looking back on my dream from “Soul’s Union of the Quetzal and the Silver Sebright Bantam” from March 30, 1986, where I have enhanced the imagery from that entry to be nearly identical to my dream).

That March 30th Easter dream always seemed like a metaphorical ascension type, and if such is the case, this dream probably relates the solitary fish as an isolated aspect of myself deliberately avoiding the union (or Merkaba) for whatever reason (likely as the fish is on its own), and that this July 27th dream touches this period to where we now have the birds to represent us at one level. It seems fairly straightforward and obvious at this point (August 9, 2015).

    4. Angry-looking Eels

      by , 08-18-1973 at 02:18 PM
Morning of August 18, 1973. Saturday.

I was in what seemed to be some sort of combination of a small library (for students) and a teacher’s office. At one point, it even seems there is an adjoining laundry. There are at least three overcrowded aquariums. The small, rectangular aquariums are each filled with about five or six small or “baby” electric eels and minimal seaweed around the sides. They appear somewhat menacing and are probably annoyed by having little or no space to move around in. I am not sure why they are in the room, as it seems rather an obstacle to a more comfortable reading environment. There also seems to be a possibility of two or more somehow getting into the washing machines in the adjoining room. There seems to be no direct threat at the time. The “electric eels” in this dream were more like small black snakes, with a spinal protrusion or front-to-back fin like a serrated saw blade. People at the time gave warnings about “electric eels” in El Jobean (Florida), but they apparently did not know what they were talking about, as they supposedly only live in freshwater (not brine) and in South America. However, someone my father knew, after this dream, did require medical attention from an encounter with an eel while fishing at El Jobean (or it could have been a type of catfish - people, especially tourists, sometimes got them confused).

I believe the imagery of this idea that formed a facet of my dream may have originally came from an issue of Mad or Cracked Magazine (possibly from a less significant part of a larger drawing of a differently-themed article) but I do not presently have the reference.
