    1. Camping with Dumbles Leads to Making Brooms with Sirius, Cheese Broom Causes Fireworks

      by , 06-13-2017 at 07:37 PM
04-30-2017 -- Actually, I have no idea when this was dreamed. Had to be after the last one I wrote down, but it was several weeks ago. It was a very interesting dream that I certainly meant to write down while it was still fresh, but it never ended of happening, so now I'm jotting down what I can remember on the 29th of May, and assigning a (likely incorrect) date to list it by.

Somehow I'm on a cadet-style camping trip, but I'm Harry Potter, and the one in charge of the trip is Dumbledore. As might be expected, it is very strange, and actually kind of boring, so I decide to make things more interesting by grabbing a dead tree limb and trying to make myself a good broom. I actually manage to do a fairly good job of it, and am flying around, but Albus is upset that I might be seen. Thankfully, I've also got my invisibility cloak, which allows me to keep myself somewhat hidden.

So he's on my case, but it's the only thing we've found fun to do on the trip, so we continue to work on flying. Soon we're flying through the dream version of the Buena Park Mall, but whatever spell we've used to power the brooms have started to weaken, and I'm drifting to the ground, right where people are looking to try and catch me. Thankfully, Sirius is right there with another broom that he's made, so he tosses it to me, and I fly off again, and Sirius finds himself arguing with his harridan of a mother (who is alive and not a painting), even though I seemed to be getting along with her quite well.

There's a bit with me walking through Waldenbooks, while talking with Remus and Sirius about more broom options, and I end up wrapping a bit of cheese or something around the handle of my latest broom as a joke, figuring it wouldn't work, but when I try to fly with it, it shoots up into the air, sending off sparks like a major firework, blasting up into an arc, before coming down again, used up very quickly, but providing an amazing pyrotechnic show, and I decide it is an amazingly cool effect that I will have to work with some more.
    2. Save the World, Get Fired, All in a Day's Work

      by , 10-07-2015 at 10:27 AM
10-05-2015 -- Working in a building that kind of reminds me of the Toshiba Medical building, but whatever kind of work I am doing, this time I am not security. But I am working perhaps some sort of warehouse work, and it is late in the evening, and we're sort of heading into the office portion of the building. Thing is, as we start to get into that area, the building is turning more into the version of Savanna that I know from past dreams that has a row of classrooms/offices directly north of the Main Office, with locker rooms, and secret passages and hidden stairways leading into off-limits areas. [I've had dreams taking place in this version of the school several times, though I am not sure where or if any of the others have been entered on the computer.]

We're pretty sure there is something in one of the offices that we want, so somebody just goes to grab the door, and I'm worried with how late it is, about whether that office might be locked or alarmed. It is locked, but the guy has a key. Unfortunately, it is also alarmed. The guy opens the door, and a light beeping starts. One of the guys is saying it can't be that bad, since there are no flashing lights going off ... so of course, red flashing lights immediately start up.

Soon security shows up, and starts to force all of us out of the building, and it seems like we're going to have to abandon the facility completely; one of the scientists tell us there isn't really any choice. But as we're being pushed out of the building, I'm listening to some of the alarms going off, and reading some of the warnings that are appearing, and I come to realize we were nearing access to a project which could have destroyed something like 99% of the world's population, leaving the ones who controlled it in control of the whole world.

Thing is, it would have worked fine, but the scientist doesn't want to allow the calamity to happen, so he falsely claimed the entire project had been compromised, and rigged the entire place to self-destruct, so he could save the world. I sidle up to him and explain I see what he just did, and try to thank him for saving the world, and he reacts by firing me on the spot, and calling over a couple of huge security thugs who grab me by the arms and start to haul me out of the building. They throw me into the Buena Park Mall parking lot and are threatening to beat me up. Somehow I can't help but feel its still a lot better than the destruction of almost all of humanity.
    3. Dream Bits: Friendly Sharks and the White Queen at the Mall

      by , 02-21-2015 at 07:11 PM
02-21-2015 -- I am in the hallway in front of my bedroom at Rosemary's house, except my room is the first on the right side of the hall, instead of the left, and the hall is running E/W rather than N/S (I think.) The room is a disaster, with tons of papers and junk on the floor, and there is so much of it that a lot of it has slipped into the hallway, and I know this is going to really tick Rosemary off. So I get to work, grabbing and shoving all the stuff in the hallway into the room, then shut the door. It takes me about 2 minutes, and I am somehow feeling really proud of myself, so I decide to go tell Rosemary.

I wander down the hall and walked past the kitchen and step down the two small steps leading into the living room. (No idea where this home layout comes from, by the way.) But when I get to the living room, I find that Rosemary/Bonnie (it is now a cross between the two) has got some sort of clown alley-type meeting going on. I duck out of the way and head back to my room, but as I get there, I discover we have relatives visiting, and they are poking all around the house. They go to open the door to my room, and I am trying to stop them as I don't want them to see the mess, but I find myself looking into a different, clean room. I pull the door shut and open it again, just long enough to glimpse the mess in my room. I shut it a third time and open it, to find myself looking in at one of the rooms that usually have two or three of the kids from other landlord dreams sleeping in them, and just kind of tilt my head in confusion. Seems each time the door is open, it leads to a different room.

      ---

02-20-2015 -- Vague memories of driving and chasing scenes, but can't remember any actual details, then I find myself in a huge pool or aquarium. There is a big red fish here, probably about five feet long, six inches wide, and about 10 or 12 inches deep. It's a vivid red, and looks quite gorgeous, but unfortunately is swallowed whole by perhaps a 12 foot long shark, that, after it eats the big red fish, seems to no longer be hungry, and wants to make friends with people. We are rather iffy about trusting it at all ... after all, what if it gets hungry again?

So this big shark is swimming around, and it can't talk, but it kind of nudges us like a dog that wants to be petted might. Meanwhile there is a sort of small city here, currently sitting on top of the water with a sort of a fish-like man (greenish-gray skin, gills, scales, but man-shaped) who is glaring at us. He kind of blames us for the shark being around, as if we brought it here, and keeps trying to make his city sink under water, so we can't enter it and look around, because he's mad about the shark. Not too detailed, at least that I can remember, but sort of neat.

      ---

02-20-2015 -- I'm having some sort of interaction with KPSB's family, possibly originally at their home, but we very soon are at the Buena Park Mall. We're just wandering around, shopping, when I spot Kevin's sister, L, who seems to be talking with what looks like Emma Frost, the White Queen. I don't trust the evil woman, and worry she is corrupting L, so I am hovering near, trying to listen in on what they are saying. Emma is in one of her usual scandalous outfits, so I'm also rather enjoying the view. Unfortunately, they are starting to notice my attention, and begin to move away, so I try to turn invisible, so I can keep watching. It actually works fairly well this time.

We're probably pretty close to Longs at this point, and they start walking toward Sears, then branch off to one of the main mall exits, and I try to stay close, but as I burst out the doors into the parking lot, they are nowhere in sight, and I realize they have gotten away, and I still have no idea what they were planning. Something about a little kid approaching me and hugging my leg or something, then I step back inside. It is evening, but not too late, and only 6 or 7, so still a couple of hours before the mall closes. There are dozens and dozens of booths set up selling things for the holiday, as well as the stores, but for some reason, they are all starting to pack up the goods and tear down the booths, and with a couple of hours left before closing, it just doesn't make sense to me ... but oh well.

I start walking toward May Company, and glance into Waldenbooks as I pass, but today I have no interest in stepping inside. As I am about to step through the doors into May Company, I find myself facing a Chinese dragon. Not a huge, mythical animal, but the parade costume thing. I try to squeeze to the side and slip past it, but one of the people in the large head (which has about six people in a sort of semi-circle carrying it) calls out to me, and turns out to be an attractive Chinese girl I know. (Actually, I don't think I know any Chinese girls, oh well.)

She's asking me something about what I'm doing, and it in some way brings up the topic of balloons, and I mention that I can twist balloons. They don't believe me, so I start looking around. Either part of the dragon or separate, there are some uninflated balloons and things around, and I keep picking up several looking for one I can blow up and twist to prove myself. Unfortunately most are broken, and the few that are not are old and weak, and as soon as I try to blow them up, they break. Then if I can find a whole one, I know just how hard they are to blow up without a pump. Then I find one that is already blown up, and I figure I can demonstrate with it, but it is completely filled up, so there is no room for the air to go anywhere as I twist it, which makes it even harder to deal with. Still, I manage a couple of twists and turn to show them, just to find the dragon and all it's carriers have walked off. Oh well. I walk into May Company, and wake up before I reach the other end of the store.
    4. The Mega-Store and Water World Redux

      by , 09-26-2013 at 03:03 PM
09-21-2013 -- [Second dream of the night, shortly after the below this, and at least slightly tied in to it.] Something about mail and packages waiting on the doorstep of the Hickory house, with just a hint of music clubs and CDs in the mail, before walking inside the house. Then somehow I find myself at the Buena Park Mall, visiting a new store that is just opening up. It is huge and fancy, with some absolutely fabulous bargains, but oddly the place seems to have no name, which is certainly odd.

Meanwhile, there are some major hints of the water world dream from earlier in the night, and somehow a strange cross of Carl Baumer and one of my old Cadet councilors is here, and he has a broom, or maybe a pair of clippers. I have used my world building powers to sort of sheer off a very sharp edge, which makes them work much, much better. Meanwhile, I am running through this huge, fancy, important store, and find myself needing to make a run to the restroom, and find myself wondering if it will be the usual mess. Amazingly enough, it is quite clean and nice.

Then I find myself in an odd sort of food court / waiting room / beauty parlor (there are women sitting around under the huge hair dryer things) and have just gotten a cheap bacon cheese burger, and am ranting about how even though the thing is really cheap, you can actually taste the bacon, and it is quite good. These things shouldn't be for the tiny amount I paid for it! I am being looked down on by a stuck up woman who is quickly turning into Hyacinth Bucket as I am climbing into my car and trying to drive home.

I find myself driving up hill from the lower May Company parking area (the area where there used to be the winding pedestrian path along the hillside, before they tore it out to add in the lower level and the theater), while trying to avoid running over Hyacinth as she tries to walk up the hill to where her car is parked. It is late at night, perhaps two or three am, and there are only one or two cars left in the parking lot.

I find myself driving by what used to be the car care center, just about to turn onto Dale, but the car care place has turned into a strip mall, filled with hole-in-the-wall restaurants, and for some reason I have stopped to get some ice cream or something. The people sitting here are weird and have a bit of an attitude, hints of goth or something, and the counter person has me signing the receipt while warning me not to try to claim the extra half penny from the sales tax, like everybody else seems to want to do. I tell him I am not going to worry about asking for a half a penny. Just strange.
    5. Multiple Scenes Before Getting Dale a Security Job

      by , 08-10-2013 at 05:09 PM
08-06-2013 -- Find myself working some sort of computer job with a decent company where lower management isn't all that happy with me, but upper management really likes my skills. Somehow I am carrying around a very valuable hard drive which is somehow turning into a stack of several video games, and the fact that I am wandering around with it (them) isn't impressing DiNosso any. Gibbs doesn't seem too impressed, either. Somehow this leads to some rather aggressive driving on the other side of Hickory, before I find myself walking through the Buena Park Mall.

I am trying to find something, but I'm not quite sure what. I am walking toward Sears at about Newberry's, when I turn around and start heading back the other way. I find myself walking with somebody who is a cross between one of the girls from high school (Amy?) and Cordelia Chase (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) who is kind of making fun of my stride. I'm just about to get a little ticked when she says something that kind of half indicates she may be interested in me. What?!?

I soon find myself walking through Longs Drugs, and oddly I come across Triple H being forcibly removed from the store, as he has been banned, and the person throwing him out is the same one who once banned me from the store. I look over at Carl Baumer, and we just kind of shrug at each other. I wander through the store, but I can find no one and nothing that I am interested in, so I walk toward the exit. I still have no idea what I am trying to find, which may explain why I am having no luck in finding it.

Somehow I am soon talking to Dale, who I have somehow gotten a job working with a security company over the telephone. I have arranged a shift for him at an Orlando Paving plant, because he needs to make some extra money. He's really nervous, so I say I will accompany him on his first shift, and help him get the hang of everything. We're in his car and exiting the parking lot, and for some reason he is really stressed, and shoots out into traffic too fast to make the left turn he is trying to make, so he shoots all the way across the street, and up onto the side walk before he manages to turn. Thankfully we're in a parking lot, and have done no harm. Unfortunately, there is also a cop parked in the parking lot, and he is almost certainly going to follow us and give us a ticket.

I direct Dale down the street (well, down the sidewalk, and then back into the street) and am trying to direct him past the hotel we're driving past, because the cop (who is in an unmarked car, but I still recognize him) is going to cut through the back of the hotel, and assumes that is where we are going. If we get past the hotel before the cop starts looking for us outside, we'll lose him. I direct him on past, then have him turn on a small side street that unfortunately turns out to be one street before the one the OPC plant is on.

We find ourselves at the entrance to a short driveway, and just on the other side we can see the entrance to the paving plant, but it is a private, gated driveway, and we would have to take a bus to get over there. So I urge Dale to drive the car onto the bus, but he seems really nervous about it, and somehow the car splits into two cars, and I drive mine onto the bus, and he doesn't. The short driveway is really weird, as the bus is huge and tall, and kind of a bus on monster truck wheels, and the driveway is narrow, and part overpass, part underpass, and we are rolling over the top of some vehicles going the other way, and being rolled over by others. Really strange.

The bus drops me off at the entrance to the OPC plant, and I notice Dale doesn't follow me. I am hoping he will make it on his own, but am half expecting to get a phone call from him at any moment explaining how he's gotten lost, and needs me to come find him and lead him back. Meanwhile, I find myself opening the gate to allow workers to come in and out, and there are tons of workers and they seem to be working 24 hours a day, and also having guards here 24 hours a day. I was only going to help Dale get started, I wasn't officially going to be working the shift, so I have no ID, no uniform, and in fact I am wandering around in my underwear. (Or perhaps in my swim trunks.) I don't know anybody here, and soon I am in trouble with the guard I am supposed to be relieving for being late, being out of uniform, and I still have no idea if Dale is ever going to show up.
    6. Sears at Closing and Babylon 5 Construction in Mall Parking Lot

      by , 12-27-2012 at 03:13 PM
12-27-2012 -- [This goes back to some old dreams from growing up. Had hundreds of dreams like this, but almost never anymore. But I did this morning!]

First bit I can remember (might not even be same dream) I am at a repair shop where they have been looking at my scooter. I have already paid $170 in advance, and am worried about how much more I might need, because I'm out of work and really don't have any money. Thankfully, the guy has finished all repairs, and was easier than he though, and he gives me $70 of my money back! Yeah!

Soon I am a teen or even a little kid, downstairs at Sears in the Buena Park Mall. This is in the old days, before construction and things, back when the candy counter was downstairs. I am in the portion of the store where both the escalators and a stairway came down, near the pay phones and perhaps restrooms (can't remember the layout as well after so much time). There was more to this early part than I can remember, but I think I was here playing video games with Nick. (Full size machines, not the Atari games.)

At some point, I went up to the ground floor (the other floor at Sears was a lower level), and then was thinking of going back downstairs to meet my friend again. Problem is, I am standing at the escalators, ready to head down, but they've blocked off the down escalator. There are a couple of people running down the up escalator, but with my bad leg, I don't think I'd have much luck doing that, anymore. But I really want to get down there again.

Suddenly I remember the staircase also going down that is just around the corner, so I walk over to it and use it. I get halfway down, and I reach a section of the stairway that is damaged, and much more difficult to cross, but I manage without too much trouble. As I get down to the lower level, I find myself looking at a low planter of sorts (only about two bricks tall) with very light brush / landscaping in it, and among the landscaping, balloons, balloon hats, and perhaps my shows and socks (which for a moment may also be made of balloons.) I start gathering my stuff together, and I have got one shoe and put it on.

I find a basic helmet hat I had made, and somehow Nick had either made or found a cool shark balloon that he had somehow merged with the helmet hat to make a cool, more advanced version of Mark Byrne's shark hat. I am still trying to find my other shoe, and deciding I don't really have any need for any of the other balloons right now. I hear voices coming down the escalator, and find there was nothing wrong with the down escalator, they had just blocked it off because it was near closing, and they didn't want anymore people going downstairs.

It turns out it is store security on the escalator, and they are griping and complaining about having to clear out the store, and troublesome customers and the like. Very soon they are pressuring me to leave. I explain I am gathering my stuff (my current gray towel as well as shoes and socks), and I am still waiting for a friend, but it is changing from Nick to Rosemary [my current real life landlord] and some of her family. But they are pressuring me, so I take the escalator upstairs again. When I get upstairs, half the lights are off, so its kind of dim, and obviously the store has already closed.

I approach the northeast corner of the store (my northeast, since my sense of direction was off, due to a bad compass, the entire time I lived in Buena Park) and though I am not being pushed out the door right this second (the store security is still clearing the lower level) I exit a set of doors right by the corner, but facing Stanton, and find it is twilight outside, and it is snowing. I am pretty sure it is about 9 pm, and Sunday, and most of the mall closed hours ago, and Sears at least an hour ago. [In the summer it would be possible it could still be twilight at 9 pm, but in the winter it would have been pitch black.]

I thought Rosemary was right behind me, but she doesn't come out for a while. I look around for a bit, and eventually go looking for her car in the parking lot, a green Dodge Dart-type vehicle (think Chris V.) but a convertible with the roof down. I manage to find the car, and Rosemary's cell phone in it. I grab the cell phone, and with still no sign of Rosemary, start walking back to the doors I exited from.

Oddly I find the same set of doors unlocked, so I pull one open and walk back in, planning to head back to the escalators, but I hear people coming, and find I'm being yelled at by both security and store management, so I head out the doors again hoping that I didn't get myself in big trouble, didn't trigger an alarm, and thinking to myself that if they don't lock the doors they can't really blame me for coming back in.

The store just has too many doors, and I have no way of knowing for sure where Rosemary will come out [the building had three sides facing the parking lot, as well as one side leading into the mall, and I think each side had three sets of four doors, so that's a lot of exits], so as I worry of missing her, I think of calling her on the cell phone I took out of her car. The problem is, it is a fancy advertising model, oddly shaped, and styled with the Mountain Dew logo on it. Both the talk and the off buttons are hidden within the logo and hard to find. Further, I realize I don't know her phone number, and I can't find it in the phone's contact list, because she doesn't call herself much. [My mind never thinks of the fact that she can't answer if I am calling her on her phone, anyway.]

I give up on the phone, but about that time I spot her, walking through the parking lot, almost at the car. I think she has two kids with her, and I am guessing one of them is Lexi, though she looks thinner than she is now. But I am realizing if I am a young kid, she probably hasn't been born yet, and it is probably Cheryl instead. I don't want to miss my ride, so I start hurrying out toward the car, but Rosemary has already got it started up. She is heading toward me, approaching one of the little traffic lanes in the parking lot, but before I can reach her, she starts to turn.

Because I am a kid, I haven't met her yet, and so she doesn't recognize me or pay any attention when I call out to her. I wave at her, and she just waves back. I try and call out I have something for her, and reach into my jacket pocket to bring out her cell phone, but the male kid in the car (probably Jeffrey) cries out "He's going for a gun," and Rosemary floors it and is gone. Guess I can't get her cell phone back to her. I call after her, but it does no good. Guess I have to walk home.

So I slowly start walking along the side of the mall, heading for the May Company end, when I find myself being forced by traffic out to La Palma on an odd curving exit that didn't exist in the real mall parking lot. I also find myself turning into Lennier from Babylon 5, but a quite young Lennier, probably a mid-teen. The traffic is too heavy for me to find a way to cross, and there is the slightest hint of the Circus, like when Circus Vargas would use the parking lot.

Suddenly I find myself confronted by Michael Garibaldi, and we are in the bowels of Babylon 5, which is being constructed in the Buena Park Mall, and Garibaldi wants to know what I am doing here! Me, I'm just a Minbari wandering the mall parking lot, walking home in a small Earth community in the 1980s. No wonder he didn't believe me! He's being kind of threatening, when suddenly big parts of the structure around us seem to almost be collapsing down on us, with razor-like metal claws slicing out of the metal inches from our heads.

We're dodging around, trying to keep both our heads while Garibaldi is screaming something like "They promised me this had been taken care of!" and as things finally seem to be settling, and I have survived intact, I glance at a couple of sets of claws, and kind of flip them further forward, where they lock in place, and secure the beams they are parts of. As I have done this, more and more of the claws are kind of clicking into place, and it begins to seem the entire problem with things collapsing is they never locked these things in place.

We soon find ourselves in a mall-style utility corridor, but in the station, not in the mall, and we're walking to Garibaldi's office, past a couple of Londo's Centauri dancers. Somehow I say something kind of flirty to them, and wildly out of character for a Minbari, and dead silence falls for a few seconds, giving the scene a chance to finish, and finally everybody (including me) breaks into hearty laughter. The others are thinking it is just odd enough that it might be left in the episode, and I am thinking to myself that this acting gig is kind of neat, even if I am a teen again, and I might want to do it as a career.

But moments later, it is back to a real space station being built in the parking lot, and Garibaldi is escorting me out a door back to said parking lot. As we step out, though, I hear the 'dut dut dut dut dut dut dut dut' sound of bionic power being shown, and Sasquatch from the Six Million Dollar Man goes running past. Lou Ferrigno's Incredible Hulk falls out of the sky like he is completing some 100 meter jump, and the two start fighting on the back of a flatbed truck. Garibaldi thumps the back of the truck as a signal to the driver, and he starts to drive off with the behemoths still fighting on the back.
    7. Wizards at the Mall and Escaping with Batman

      by , 12-24-2012 at 07:17 PM
12-03-2012 -- [Hope this works out. This was a very long, interesting dream, and I made very short, abbreviated notes on it, and am almost a month late in entering it in, so depending on how well the memory works, a lot of this could be missing. Sigh.]

I'm on Hickory, just a house away from the end of the block, down by Crescent, and find Cheryl there, ranting and raving and yelling at her kids. They are piling into her van to drive somewhere, and I sure don't want to get in any sort of fight, so I just walk down the block to my house.

About the time I get there, things change and shift, and I am outside a gas station, doing a mystery shop. Basic stuff, no big deal, but soon I find things have shifted again, and I am inside the Buena Park Mall. At this point I can't remember what was happening earlier in this part of the dream, but I know there were some Harry Potter characters around, and possibly some strange magical critters.

There are people (probably evil wizards) following me, and little bits of chasing through the mall, where I find myself doing a little bit of flying, but the ceiling is too low to get enough height to really stay out of the way. So I can't get away entirely, but it adds a little more dimension to the chase. I soon find myself in the Video Concepts store, right near May Company.

The evil wizards have been gathering, and there are more and more of them. We have to try and get out of the place, but how to get away when there are so many of them watching for us? Luna is here, and I am trying to get her free, too. And Patches, one of my landlord's dogs, is also running around. Part of the time, Luna Lovegood may even be turning into Lois Lane, though I am not sure.

Turns out there is a half-hidden secret exit to the place which leads into the multi-story hotel which now exists at the Buena Park Mall, and we fake toward one of the front doors, then dash to the hidden exit, which may be a sort of elevator. It leads up several floors to a hotel corridor, and we walk a few rooms down, and enter a room where Batman is waiting for us. There is a little bit of planning and making arrangements, then we crawl out through the window, out onto the penthouse roof, where we quickly find ourselves being chased again.

Somehow from the roof we are going up or down an escalator to a valet parking area (yeah, on the penthouse roof. I know it doesn't make much sense.) I have a note about some sort of escalator gag which was tremendously humorous and funny at the time, and may have involved Batman trying to hold a kid who disappeared, and me getting accidentally kissed by a beautiful woman. It was a really great gag, unfortunately now I can't remember how it went. I hate myself for not getting this entered earlier.

Anyway, Batman is getting the Batmobile, while I am flying, and somebody is rolling around on roller skates. There is something about a Siamese twin, except it is Siamese twin Siamese cats, with a loud, obnoxious howl. Batman comes driving up in the car, and I just fly above it as he drives away from the hotel.

[This would have been so much better if I had managed to get to it promptly!]
    8. Job Worries, Impromptu Gun Rights Rally, and Elevator problems

      by , 10-14-2012 at 09:45 PM
10-14-2012 -- [Dream during a nap. First parts missing, as always.] I'm riding somewhere with Cheryl, her family, and various of her friends, on my way to work, I think, though I have no idea where I am going or what kind of job. We're in their minivan, which seems much, much more like a full-size bus in the dream.

I have my eyes closed, trying to take a nap, and one of the kids keeps blowing on my face, trying to annoy me. I end up with both my hands over my face, just trying to keep from being disturbed. I do fully wake up, though, about the time I think we should have hit the freeway interchange for the 408, where there is lots of construction I remember from other dreams, because we don't seem to be getting there.

Cheryl turned off just slightly before I would expect her to, and we're making our first stop somewhere in downtown Orlando, where she swaps out a water cooler. Oddly by almost tossing it out of the van/bus, and just tossing in another one, very casually. Can't remember water coolers being so easy to either find, or so light to easily toss. Oh well.

Quick second stop for something that seems almost more like dropping people off on the old Nazarene Sunday school bus, and I'm getting kind of worried about work, but I have no idea what job. Suddenly I find myself thinking I need to get to House of Imports for my weekend shift there, since last week they finally hired me back. Wait? Was that really last week? Feels like several weeks, at least. Now I am worried I may have missed several weeks of work because I forgot they hired me back, and am afraid I may get there just to find I have been fired again. [In real life, the dream where I was rehired was probably two to three months ago, and may or may not have been one I wrote down or typed up. But I did have such a dream in the last few months.]

The next stop turns out to be at the Buena Park Mall, and I separate from everybody else to go my own way, just to find the Mall is a lot bigger than any time I visited in the past. [In real life, the mall 'enlarged' twice in my life, and I still dream of the second time, occasionally. First, when I was really young they did some enlarging and remodeling to enclose the mall, changing it's name from the Buena Park Center to the Buena Park Mall. The second time they added the lower level, a movie theater complex, and the JC Penney's 'wing' and I still dream of construction sites from that enlargement somewhat regularly.]

This time the mall has added another three floors of shops, and a huge stadium, and I find myself approaching the stadium, where they are filming something. I think it starts out with filming a wrestling show, but soon seems to change to filming a game show. It is a cross between Family Feud and Jeopardy. They are doing the final round where both people have like 15 seconds to answer five questions and they are trying to reach 200 points, but the answers have to be in the form of a question.

That bit has just ended, and a large, powerful, slightly redneck character carrying a rifle around with him (looking much like the Big Boss Man) wanders into a snack bar, where he is kind of threatening everybody with his rifle. Every single one of them pulls out a handgun and aims it at him, and suddenly they are all friends because they are all NRA members and can defend themselves ... including the guy with the rifle. They are talking trash about the Democrats, and though I mostly agree with their viewpoint, I think they are carrying it slightly too far.

Anyway, I need to get home and get ready for work, so I head over to the elevator, where there is a long line. It moves quickly, however, and I find myself getting into an elevator with interesting decor. They seem to have gone for a sort of a retro-future style (think the Jules Verne-themed Tomorrowland rehab). I find the correct button for my floor and push it. Others push for theirs, and the elevator just sits there.

One guy is pushing buttons almost at random, and one lady is walking in and out the doors muttering complaints, and finally the doors close quickly ... right on the lady. She is being trapped in between the two sets of doors, neither on nor off the elevator, and we're afraid she will be mangled, but we can't find the door open button among all the fake controls for the futuristic theming. I finally find the button by the time we've gone about three floors, but by that time, I figure we're almost to our floor, why bother. The doors open, and the woman is still standing between the sets of doors, perfectly fine.

I'd kind of figured that might have been the case. It looked like there was almost a sort of platform attached to the elevator between the doors, and I thought she might be find, especially when there had been no screaming. She is slightly shocked, but her husband is just strutting back and forth, threatening to sue everybody in sight, and not checking on how his wife actually is. I lean over and quietly ask her if she is OK, and she is all over me. She is grinding herself against me, and kissing me very passionately, and I'm kind of enjoying myself. Her husband asks what the blank is going on, and she lets me go, blushes attractively, and says I showed concern for her, and she just couldn't help herself. Attractive brunette.

I'm still trying to come to grips with that pleasant scene when the folks I came to the mall with stroll past me heading for the car, and I join them for the ride home. They've changed from Cheryl's family to Aj (Veronica)'s family, but I seem to fit right in.
    9. Simpsons, Meet the Simpsons ...

10-11-2012 -- [Time to play catch-up. Have been dreaming for the last five days, but haven't got anything posted. So again my mind sends me a dream neat enough to force me to get off my butt. Its also slightly dirty, but not that much, more suggestive. So I'll get this one, and hopefully all else from the last five days posted today.]

I'm in the Hickory house, and my room is the second bedroom in this dream, though I don't spend any time in it. I have been cleaning it out, and just tossing boxes into the kitchen, but now there are so many old, empty boxes that you can't get to the cupboard or the garage. So I am trying to stack the boxes together to take as many out at once as I can. I think I end up carrying about seven boxes (including a pizza box) in two hands.

Somehow I find myself in a big area that kind of reminds me of the outside entrance to the lower level of the Buena Park Mall that was located near Sears behind Newberry's. There is one shop entrance in the immediate area, with the cage-like gate that rolls down to block the entrance at night kind of acting like a mouth. It drops violently with a loud bang which causes dust to rise, the room to shake, and the pillars in the corridor next to the store to look like they are going to collapse and bring the corridor down.

I suddenly find myself in an episode of the Simpsons, sort of. I am standing in the living room of the Simpsons' house on Evergreen Terrace. Bart and Milhouse are running around playing, but they are being watched by Lois Griffin in a fairly skimpy and quite lacy slip. The kids are doing something they shouldn't, or talking about something they've done that is really terrible (along the lines of literal attempted murder or worse), and some sort of voice-over narrator is talking about a hidden camera in the very roof of the house that is going to catch everything.

The camera pans to the ceiling, zooming through a large hole that somehow looks like it belongs, and it almost feels like I am flying up there to have a look, though I don't. It is just the camera technique. Either way, we're being shown the angle from the camera in the ceiling, and regardless of what the narrator is saying, the angle is wrong to actually see anything the kids are doing. Heh.

Still, this narrative voice out of nowhere is slightly frightening, even if we characters can only hear it kind of subconsciously, and Lois is kind of leaning back in my arms for a little comfort, and she is really quite sexy in the dream. As the kids continue to play, I start to lead her through the house looking for somewhere we can have a little fun. We soon find ourselves in a huge bathroom with multiple showers (kind of like a locker room) and I'm just about to have some fun when Bart and Milhouse walk in.

"Are you guys gonna do it?" he asks, "because I'm gonna watch!" So much for that. Guess I just have to settle for some light kissing. Phooey. Soon we're sitting at a long table in a large room, and Bart and Milhouse start to give a presentation on what they've been doing. It is long-winded, rambling, and terribly boring. The length and comprehension of the 'report' is more what you would expect from Lisa, but it is both boring, and impossible to understand. Bart has even gotten lots of collateral materials to present to us, so much more involved than anything you would expect from him. Too bad it is all nonsense.

He brings in two more people to 'help' with the presentation. One looks like a Simpsons version of Lisa Tuttle from Saved by the Bell, the other is a quite attractive blonde with a fairly large bust. The voice-over announcement is back, and says something about the girl looking like Marilyn Monroe, but thinking she is Bette Ford because that's the clinic she's been in. Lois says "Marilyn?" and I kind of repeat the voice-over and the Bette Ford Clinic part, and she replies "I heard that part," in a slightly annoyed voice, though she is still in my arms. At this point the woman is standing by a trash can, routing through it.

As Bart is still rambling on, I grab some of the collateral material, and find myself looking at a refrigerator magnet about the size of the magnetic calendars that Hosanna Printing did one year, but with an advertisement for whatever it is Bart is talking about on it, instead. (I think it is some sort of movie he is making, but again, nothing makes sense.) Problem is, he's done his usual half-arsed job on it. The magnets are at angles, sticking out from under the ad, with extra glue spilled everywhere and dried out. Very unprofessional looking.

I try to call Bart over to talk to me, but he doesn't want to come near me, fearing I am going to choke him like Homer would. I just plan to have a discussion with him about focus, and goals, and whatever it is he is trying to accomplish, but in truth I fear the entire presentation has no point, and he is probably just doing it to annoy us. Bart has tried to hide by dropping to the floor, and the blond has joined him there and they are messing around. By the time she gets back to her feet, one of her breasts is hanging out of her loose, low-cut green top. I ignore it.

As I try to talk to Bart, suddenly the blonde is half-lying on the table, completely nude, legs spread, showing off all her bits. Actually doing this in front of a couple of little kids makes it far more disturbing than erotic. I get kind of excited, but not about her nudity, specifically. "I never thought I'd get to say something like this in an episode of the Simpsons," I begin, "but I don't care if we are on Fox, that's never going to make it past the censors!"

The blonde is now gone, and Lois is asking me what I am talking about. She was looking at a brochure that was part of Bart's materials, and didn't see the girl showing herself on the table, so I'm explaining about her showing her bits, all of her bits. About that time, Flanders walks in, and I'm thinking if he were just a few seconds earlier, he would have lost his mind! He's trying to understand this presentation of Bart's, as well, and has decided to try to take a disc from the computer on the table.

The computer is a very odd model, and seems none-too-stable. It is slightly rocking on the table, and as Ned tried to open the disc drive door, it somehow kind of snaps at him. Before our eyes it is slowly changing. It is still a computer, but more and more it is a computer that looks and acts like a cartoon-style robot dog.

At this point we're all still at the table, but it is set up in that entrance corridor at the Buena Park Mall, and as Flanders reaches for the disc drive again, the robot dog sends some sort of radio signal, and the roll down cage door thing on the one present store front starts to snap down with another big bang. The room shakes, the dust starts rising, and the pillars are shaking terribly, and Ned bolts down the corridor in fright!
    10. Hiring at Hewitt and Shopping at Smith's

09-19-2012 -- [Very weird dream, about five hours into sleep period, scenes all over the place and very odd.]

Working in a fast food place of some sort, and see a pack of Mike 'n Ikes or Good and Fruity or the like, which I can't resist taking from a shelf. The place has turned into more of a convenience store, and a minute or two after I take it, I realize I have to pay for it, and try to give my manager a quarter. She doesn't want to take it, and has a policy of only taking bills, but I remind her it is only .25 cents, so bills mouldn't make as much sense.

There are brief hints of Doctor Who and the TARDIS, but it doesn't go anywhere. Instead, as I step into the TARDIS, it turns into an elevator, and just takes me to the second floor. I am now on the second floor at what seems to be a cross between the TAMS warehouse and Hewitt Associates. I don't work here, but for some reason I am in the building.

I am walking down the hall, and find an attractive woman who seems to be delivering some job applications that people have filled out or something. They won't take them, but ask the woman to wait, explaining there is more information needed or something, and that it will all be clear in a couple of minutes. I walk further to where some prospective new employees are being given a test, and they are being told "You will not be able to finish the test. Do not let this worry you, just get as far as you can in it." The questions are all numbered, but not all numbers are used, they jump around.

One guy thinks he has figured out something, and is suggesting everybody ignore any questions numbered under 1000, as their group all has employee numbers over 1000. I'm a little disgruntled, as my number, when I worked there, was under 1000. On the other hand, I am neither reapplying nor taking the test, so why should I care? [Oddly, I am convinced this bit of the story reflects on a Harry Potter fan fiction I read last night right before bed, where Dudley had a number of 00001.]

I walk back toward the attractive lady with the applications, figuring I would try and get a glimpse and see if I could figure what was missing from them. She doesn't want me to look, and seems offended or something, and suddenly we are in May Company at the Buena Park Mall, and either she chases me out the door facing La Palma, or I chase her out of it. We're approaching Dale Avenue, and need to cross to the Food King parking lot, but the traffic is really, really heavy.

Somehow the woman is now being carried in my arms, and is half a very sleepy BC, and half a sleepy cat. And either might be disturbed by all the loud, rushing traffic. There is finally a break in the traffic, and I start to run across the street, when there is some loud music behind us in the mall parking lot. I make it safely across the street and into the Food King parking lot, but now the music is in front of us. It is a group of punks (almost a gang) who are going shopping. As we grab carts and start toward the door, they are telling us we can't go shopping because they are going shopping.

We try to ignore them, and as we approach the door, BC has warped into Dale. Somehow we already have stuff in our carts as we approach the door, and it seems like we have to be checked out to go in, rather than the other way around. Odd. Anyway, we are supposed to have four 12 packs of sodas, and the punks ahead of us only have two, so they steal two from our cart, and the guy checking them in doesn't seem to care. But since Dale and I no longer have four, they aren't sure about letting us in.

Soon they are cooking something for us, but since we don't have all the ingredients they wanted, they aren't making what we ordered. I try to be pleasant, but explain that since they aren't making what we ordered, we'll try it, but if we don't like it, we'll refuse it. One of the punks is making fun of us, so I suddenly start beating him, seriously, about the face, really smashing it up pretty badly. I am speaking to the manager about the whole situation when Dale gets mad, and starts slamming the face of the employee into a table, smashing him up pretty badly, as well. The manager says he was thinking about firing the guy, anyway, and I am trying to make sure Dale doesn't go too far and kill the guy.

Soon we're sitting on one of the benches outside the store. It is late at night, and for some reason I have a deck of cards and am asking Dale to "pick a card, any card." Except I've forgotten how whatever trick I was going to do was supposed to work, so I just put the deck in my pocket and forget about it. We're discussing some sort of trip we want to take at the end of the month, but don't know if we can pull it off, probably not. Dale is falling asleep, while I am matching up these strange little bits of stone, and whenever I find two that are alike, they disappear. I am soon realizing they are Runescape strange rocks.
    11. A Day at the Mall

09-19-2012 -- [Incredibly long dream with almost no story, I'll not be struggling to remember every detail, but just getting out the general idea of what was going on.]

Am wandering around the Buena Park Mall in the present time, just exploring to see what is different. Have gone downstairs near the back entrance near Newberries and Sears, and am just wandering toward the food court. Am looking at stores I can remember from previous dreams, not that I remember from real life. Come across a lady working who looks like Rosemary, but who I don't remember as Rosemary, but as a person who was working in a strange combination art store/pet store in past dream. She's now working in the same shop (which is now a furniture store) and a shop across the way, hurrying back and forth between the two.

I reach the food court area, which it seems just keeps growing and growing. There are now 4 or 5 food stores stretching from the food court into the corridor I was approaching from, and a ton of stores on the left, as well as the right. The pizza place I used to get square pizza slices from was there, plus a Chinese place, but the tons of stalls mostly seem to be of much less quality than what I remember in real life.

Somewhere around this point, both the screws have come loose on my glasses, and both the ear pieces have fallen off. I can't get things to line up properly, and am deciding to stop at the optometrists down here, and let them fix it.

I have been trying to price actual store fronts, and figure out how much it might cost to open a shop down here, but every store I have seen so far has been open, amazing in this economy. But I continue down the corridor leading to the movie theater, and here they seem to have been doing some major construction, and lots of shops are closed. Looks the the pricing is about $94,000 for a slim storefront, though I have no idea how long that is for.

Somehow I find an exit from the lower level on the La Palma side [which has no exits on that side except to the upper level, since the upper level is ground level] and I find myself looking at both the street in the distance, and a drop. Somehow they have built the mall on a number of levels, and in some way the lower level is above the upper level on this side. Very strange. I'm thinking it looks like the various levels at the airport, placed one on top of the other.

I head back into the mall, now on the upper level near May Company. I walk past Waldenbooks, and mom is there, moping because they closed down. It is a little sad, considering how much time I spent in there looking for books as a kid. I continue on toward Sears, and things get quite weird for brief moments in a number of ways.

At one point, I am trying desperately to avoid the Weasley Twins, though I have no idea why. At another, I am wandering from elevator to elevator with a bag of equipment, testing to see if all the lights on the buttons are working, or if I need to report some of them are out. The actual repair person working on the elevators is a little annoyed at me. In another, a bunch of kids are following me through a store that seems to be selling mostly leather clothes, and I have no idea why. Finally there is something weird about an attractive blonde princess, but that disappears quickly.

Soon I am heading down the corridor toward JC Penney, and stop by Max's Carmel Corn Stand, which is a frequent stop in my dreams when I visit this mall. Max (who looks like Don Dunn in this dream) is pouring carmel corn and is asking me about calling the police or something. At first it seems like he is accusing me of setting them on him, but then it switched where he is calling them on me, though I have no idea why.

I head back downstairs at the elevator next to B Dalton, and there is a guy offering tax advise, and a lady who he has asked to help find people to ask him questions. She is being tossed out by security for taking up his (the tax advisers') time, and he is starting to ask others to help him. If helping him gets people thrown out, why would we want to help?

I walk into B Dalton, which is open, and start looking around. Oddly enough, though it is a bookstore, I don't see any specific books. My mind doesn't bother populating them. Instead I see a slightly oriental girl who has fallen to the ground, and is starting to shake and steam. Another girl is trying to hook jumper cables up to the girl and herself, to try and drain off the electricity that is frying the girl, but can't seem to get it right.

The first girl bursts into a momentary ball of flame, spontaneous combustion, then collapses into ash, and I can remember news reports of a strange condition going around where trying to jump-start a heart burns a body, rather than gets the heart going again. Just weird stuff.
