    1. 26 Nov: Vision at a spanish cathedral

      by , 11-26-2019 at 09:27 PM (Lucid-schizo-dreamer)
non-dream dream semi-lucid lucid false awakening

Visiting a cathedral in Spain. A catholic nun takes me on a tour and shows me a secret chapel behind a rock wall. She opens this rock and shows me the little chapel. She says a miracle makes appear Jesus Christ's image on this rock sometimes. I look at it and I see it, but it doesn't stay still, it changes into a woman, then a baby, then at very high speed, I see like the whole evolution of life on Earth, all animals and all plants species morphing from one into another. I tell it to the nun and she says I must be hallucinating.
    2. Selkies and Vampires

by , 08-09-2018 at 09:28 PM (Creatures of the Labyrinth)
Selkies have popped up a few times in my dreams, enough so that I wanted to make an entry on them in this log.

But before I can talk about the Selkies we need to talk about the vampires.

Vampires are your standard, Nosferatu-style, blood-drinking undead, with palid gray skin and elongated fangs. However the anatomy of the vampires of my dreams differs (consistently differing across different dreams, oddly enough) from the standard in a few ways. First, the feet of a vampire are more batlike than humanlike, and can be used to cling to cave ceilings. Second, the vampires possess crooked, bizarre "hook hands". The hands have an extra finger after the pinky finger, which curves outward and away from the hand. This hook-finger moves and flexes at odd angles. Additionally the hook-finger, as well as the pinky finger and the thumb, are covered in bone spurs that protrude from the flesh. A vampire can drink blood through it's hands, and when resting prefers to have its hook-hands soaking in fresh, bloody meat when possible.

A vampire cannot be truly killed, as it will come back to life eventually, and thus the best that can be done is to bury a vampire's body after it dies, so that it comes back to life deep underground.

Selkies, much like the creatures from Scottish folklore of the same name, are shapeshifters bearing a human form and a seal form, though in my dreams their alternate form is always that of a walrus rather than a seal. Selkies can freely switch between their two forms, and often do so to facilitate movement, since they are faster in the water as a walrus and faster on the land as a man.

The selkies as a whole are additionally fiercely dedicated vampire hunters, devoting their lives to keeping mankind safe from the vampiric threat. In their walrus forms, they primarily fight vampires using their tusks, driving their massive, ivory stakes through the hearts of the vampire to incapacitate it. In their human form, they favor use of a "flying guillotine" of Wuxia movie fame, a hatlike object on a chain that can be thrown over an opponent's head, the chain then used to trigger spring-loaded blades, causing decapitation. These are favored since decapitation will also incapacitate a vampire.

After destroying a vampire, a selkie will bury the remains, as a vampire cannot truly be killed. Selkies maintain maps of all their burial locations, so they can intervene whenever new construction might threaten to unearth a disposed-of threat.

In the course of fighting vampires, inevitably some selkies get bitten by vampires and become vampires themselves. Vampire selkies continue to hunt rogue vampires, dedicating their now-immortal existence to the craft, and are still accepted by the rest of the selkies, despite being vampires themselves. Vampiric selkies partner with the Catholic Church to control their bloodlust, as Catholic communion wine, due to the doctrine of transubstantiation (the belief that communion wine, the "blood of God", is literally transformed to Jesus' blood once consumed), allows a selkie vampire to drink blood without having to actually shed any blood. Transubstantiation is, apparently, a 100% correct belief in my dreams, and can be thus used to sustain a vampire. Vampiric selkies often must get their communion wine through intermediaries, however, as it isn't easy to obtain communion wine without encountering crosses.

    3. High School Bookstore

by , 08-23-2013 at 08:36 AM (The Dream Magic Experiment)
I was in some sort of a bookstore. I was reading a book. It's inside a Catholic school (DBTI?). The lady cashier (librarian) asked if I have a book like it, and clarified if it's mine. Not, it's not. I returned it, and she said it's overdue. I have to pay 21 pesos. I imagined it was already two weeks since I borrowed it, and I thought I was renewing it all this time. I gave her money, but she said, 'Only four [pesos]?' I took more money out of my pocket, and counted two 5 pesos and two 10 pesos, and decided it's a total of 21 pesos.

I looked around for more books, and found a lot of colorful, hard-bound books, but decided not to borrow.

I was watching a story before my eyes. An alien. I transformed into a creature. I howled.

I was in a house. B showed up and we did something like a one-arm embrace or pat, then he went somewhere in the house. R was writing and signing something on the table. He said something about ignoring B. I wondered how can I do that if we're in his house.

A dormitory. A field. A lot of fried chicken left on the ground. An ice box. Beer. Back gate is open. Restaurant. order at restaurant. A ball. An academy. A murder. Demon. Infestation. An old woman. 24-hour store. Empty. House. She's inside but not answering the phone. A play. A dark character. Marriage in play but it's actually a coverup magic. It gained power through repeated use in plays. He was defeated and banished. A house elf showing potential futures. A hellish Catholic ritual (for a pagan at least), millionaire. Condo. Dormitory. New borders. Towel.
    5. Ersatz Confirmation

I'm going through what I feel is the Catholic ceremony of Confirmation at my old high school, but it is nothing like the actual event. Instead, each candidate and his or her sponsor walks together to the altar, where the sponsor presents a large wooden cross to the candidate. A preparatory sacrament of communion is also performed with great importance. The line to do the ceremony snakes around and out of the chapel proper, up and down a flight of stairs. I'm behind my old high school classmate K.C., who is complaining about the wait. The line doesn't move for some time, then suddenly lurches forward. My mom and brother are in the pews watching me; I let other classmates like J.V. go ahead so I can talk with my family. I notice that my brother's head is in a microwave, which does strike me as odd. I then loop through the line, debating whether I'll get communion or not. I get my wooden cross from college professor Dr. R., then end up getting the host from my own mom and feel guilty about it. Apparently she also feels guilty, varying the usual formula with "I don't believe this is the body of Christ."
    6. 3/25/11

It's really hard to record dreams in the morning on days I have school, so this is just what I can remember.

I'm in a big church for mass, and afterwards, I'm trying to find my way out before the next mass starts. I make my way into the small narthex, then down a flight of stairs into a sitting room, which also looks like a makeshift chapel. The procession is making its way through the sitting room toward the stairs. To the right is a great wooden door with stained glass windows. I ask a man near the door if I may exit this way. "Well, the customer is always right!" He says. I then leave and run down the paved parkinglot to the car. Someone is driving me, and while I'm on the highway I realize I have forgotten something in the sanctuary. I tell the driver to turn us around and head back to the church. Then I get a text from Kelsey asking me where I am. Apparently, I was supposed to go to mass with her and her family at the 9:30, but I already attended the 7:45.
There is a cut-scene where Kelsey and her family arrive in a white car, and Kelsey exits the car wearing a fluffy white dress. Her parents, normally dressed, follow her into the church.
I sneak back into the sanctuary through a door next to the altar. I spot Kelsey and her family in the pew where my stuff is. I try to sneak in without them noticing. I don't remember exactly how it happens, but Kelsey notices me and begins chasing me all throughout the building, yelling at me for ditching her mass. Near the end of the dream, I realize we were supposed to get married. Oops.
