I am driving a very small car up a steep mountain road. On the right side is a steep uphill grade and to the left is a sharp drop-off into a river far below. I drive along for a bit when my passenger tells me to turn into a small road that goes up to the right. I turn and drive up a very steep and narrow road. After a short bit, the road narrows even more with trees really close on both sides. After another short while, the surface of the road becomes engulfed by the roots of trees. Eventually, the roadway becomes elevated on top of the roots which is now quite a ways above the ground. I approach a corner in the road and some of the roots are broken away, making it impossible to drive on. We get out of the car and walk the rest of the way around the turn and down the road.

Eventually the tree root road comes down along a fence and meets the ground. I am walking toward a farm house where a woman is washing clothes in a tub and putting them through a wringer before hanging on a line to dry. I continue walking toward an outbuilding where I meet up with some familiar DC’s. They invite me inside to find a bar and pool tables.

I ride a motorcycle into the parking deck by the courthouse. At the entrance, there is a sign that says there is a special motorcycle parking area on the top level. I wind my way through the parking deck and end up at an area where the lane ends into a doorway. I shut off my bike and walk it toward the door. As I approach, a cop comes outside and points to a smaller pathway behind me and says, “That's where the motorcycles go.”

I turn around and walk the bike down the path and find that I am on a sidewalk which splits at the edge of the parking deck. To my right is a driver training course on which someone is taking their driving test on a horse. I stare for a moment in disbelief, shake my head, then turn the other way and push the motorcycle down the sidewalk. As I am walking, the motorcycle seems to get smaller. After a bit of walking, I look to my left and see a couple of people hanging out in a Jeep on the other side of a small parking lot. There are a couple of kids sitting on the back seat of the jeep and an older woman sitting in the passenger seat. A familiar looking guy with long blonde hair is standing next to it, watching me walk by. I wave and move on.

As I continue walking, I notice that the motorcycle has shrunk to the size of a child's dirt bike. I pick up the bike with one hand and keep on walking. After a bit I look left again and see another group of people hanging out around an old Ford Bronco. Taking a closer look, it looks like almost the same group of people. I stop and stare at them for a moment and the two kids look at me, then turn and run off. The older lady gets out of the truck and wanders off as I start walking toward. The blonde guy just stands there, staring at me as I walk up. As I get closer, I realize that it's Andrej Pejic standing there.

I can't believe my eyes, so I walk up and say, “There is no way that you are actually standing in front of me.” as I become lucid. I feel a tingling throughout my body as the dream quickly destabilizes. Before fading out, I look at Andrej and smile while saying, “You're so pretty! I love your hair!” then I wake up.

Yay! A quick flying lucid after a long dry spell.

I am climbing a set of open mesh industrial metal stairs when I stop and look at the floor still moving away. This looks kind of strange, so I tell myself that I am dreaming and become lucid. A mild tingling sensation runs through my body and the lighting becomes much brighter in the room. I do a quick nose pinch to double-check before making a jump. I jump up and fly off the stairs and cruise around the room for a bit. I fly around for a little bit, then stop and try to remember the task of the month. I an unable to recall the tasks, so I fly as fast as I can into the window for a scene change. I hit the glass and slowly melt through it like ice cream melting and dripping through a strainer. Once through, I find myself in another room. Wanting to get outside, I turn around and fly into the wall and find that it offers much less resistance than the glass. The scene is outdoors without much detail. I attempt to stabilize for a bit, but I can feel my body laying in bed and the detail of the dream decaying quickly. Still lucid, I focus all of my energy on trying to spin. At first, I cannot move anything and I can feel myself transitioning out of the sleeping state as the dream darkens completely to black. I wake suddenly with a loud pop sound and my hand hits the headboard as I jump awake.

(Note: I completely lost what happened in the beginning. At least I recalled the lucid part.)
    4. The Sloped City, The Army, The Reunion, The Messed Up Dorm Hall, and The Purple Book

      by , 10-20-2012 at 07:38 PM
The night of October 18th, 2012.

      Some Pre-knowledge:
I got to bed really late that night, I went out to a bar and drank pretty heavily, which is why I'm so confused with this one. I'm confused as to why I remember so much of it. It was also pretty eventful and weird, which is also paranormal when drinking alcohol. I did my normal techniques, but I dozed off much faster.

      The Dream:

The beginning was probably the most vague part. It was a tent event for my old highschool. Everyone was dressed up pretty nice, and I reunited with some old friends. It was a good time from what I remember.

The next thing I remember was that I was in a large town. The town was on a hill, so it sloped down with the hill. If you were at the north end of the city you could see the entire town by looking south. There was a large river that flowed exactly through the middle of the town, with multiple bridges over it at random intervals. They were roads and pathways, and again, from the top you could see them all. It was very fascinating.

A group of friends and I were walking over one of the bridges at the top, walking on the far side, so we couldn't see down the river. As we were walking, the people close to the edge were getting their heads blown off. So many of them were dying, body parts were going everywhere. There was a lot of blood. All of us ducked, people seemed to disregard what was going on.

I crawled toward the far edge where people were dying, and I peaked over the side. A few bridges down, there was what looked to be an army of snipers. I don't know where it came from, but I started picking a few off with my sniper rifle. It was an M24. There were so many, I said screw this. I ran off the bridge, and ran along the outside of the river down the hill, through crowded streets, to get to the bridge they were on.

I got to the bridge, and there were a TON of snipers. Some of them were grouped up. I killed one of them with a mini-uzi. I ran up to them, I guess they didn't notice who I was or what I was doing, and I threw a grenade at their feet. They all dove out of the way. I killed some, injured some and others lived. I ran right over the bridge they were on to escape. I just ran and ran, down back alleys, major streets, and eventually ended up in a parking garage. It was a parking garage that seemed to be underground.

I ran to the stairwell, and went up a flight of stairs. The stair well changed, and there were towels hanging up in the stairwell on the second floor. There were clothes scattered about the floor. The stairwell turned into a dorm hall, and this guy in a towel said "Boy its sure messy up here." I noticed a backpack on the ground in the corner. It was open. It had dress attire in it. I'm not quite sure why I took it, but I zipped it up and stole it.

I ran back downstairs, out the garage, and into a VERY busy street. I merged with the crowd hoping the army guys wouldn't see me.

I woke up at 8AM, probably due to the alcohol. I went to the bathroom and went back to bed.

I was back in the same town. I still had the backpack. It was now night time. I found my old friend Alec with a few of his lady friends. We sat down at a black picnic table in some back alley. He was smoking a cigarette. All I remember him saying was "Yo Hinch! You smoke now? Don't tell me you're a nerd over smoking!" I said something along the lines of how I enjoy alcohol more than weed. He brought up some comedian.

The last part is very fuzzy. He pulled out a purple book. It was pretty large. Hardcover. A picture of the comedian was on the front. I opened the book up, and all I saw were excel charts. (You know how when you open a book, it usually opens to the most opened page?) It was as if the most opened pages were the charts. They were empty charts. I pondered on this with a friend (I don't remember who,) for at least an hour. We finally opened a page with "comedy" on it. There was a picture in the middle of a purple page, and you would read two or three lines, and then the comedian said the pun or punch line out loud. I honestly thought it was the dumbest thing ever.

I don't think anything happened after that. I woke up again at around 12PM.

      Analysis:

I have been playing a lot of shooting games recently, which might explain all the violence in my dreams, especially this one. I also haven't seen my friends from my old highschool for around two years. And now I realize how much I miss them. I don't know what the bag with clothes in it has to do with anything, I don't need clothes, nor do I need nice clothes. Oh well. The purple book may have to do with my old fraternity's pledge book. It was purple. And I dropped a long time ago.

      Overall,
another weird dream. It is hard to analyze these, as I don't really talk to many dream characters, and the objects seem pretty random. I'm sure I'll figure out why I've been so violent in dreams recently. I just need to have a few more dreams.
    5. August 1, 2012 - Zombies again?

by , 08-01-2012 at 04:56 PM (Jenos's Garden of Dreams)
After waking up after a more normal dream which strangely enough was in the same setting with the same people (minus a few) I fell back asleep and into anotherzombie dream I went.

      A Swim to the Hospital
Non-lucid: I am on an island off the mainland of wherever. My friend, Ian, has just moved here four some reason or other. The island has some tree coverage but it's mostly grass at the shores, with little sand. In the sands place are rocks and shells (this is a trend for Rhode Island) The water is wavy but flat, similar to how it would look had someone put a giant tv screen playing water on a loop. The water is gray-clear, allowing a clear and unnatural view of the see floor (only the shore part though) It's about midday and as usual instead of a warm light the sun would give off, it's a cold slightly blueish-white as if a colossal fluorescent light hung in the sky.

I am talking to three of my friends. Mike, Ian, and Robert. We desperately want something to do, Mike and Ian in particular are complaining. Somewhere in the conversation we decide that we are going to swim to the hospital. There must be no boats or something.

When we arrive it's early in the night. I'm now rocking a shotgun and my friends have similar weapons. We crawl into the hospital, a narrow hall that quickly turns left with only a few doors and windows on the right. The floor is white tile and walls are painted gray. My friends whisper about how not to shoot on sight because zombies will swarm us. I just have to be and asshole though, and shoot the first one I see (which was immediately after we crawled around the first left turn). We get up and book it, my friends start swimming back to the other island but I stay here.

Strangely the scenery here is less realistic. Instead of grass it's just as if someone put a picture of grass over the ground. The hospital is in the middle of nowhere and it's tiny. But theres no more time to take it in because they are rushing out of the building now. I run into the water hoping they can't swim. But it's not a problem, because behind me are the livid, living hospital staff, zombies that aren't attacking them, and Dr. Cox.

      Dream end.
    6. July 15, 2012 - Rise of the Mirror Emporium

      Regaining Dream Recall
Well it's been awhile, hasn't it? Almost half a year now, I think. Well after my first hardly-successful lucid dream, I gave up. I don't know why. A couple days ago I decided to get back in the game, and stared keeping a private journal (you know, in the waking journal section), but I digress.

So here I am, and here you are. If you've read this far, then boy do I have a treat for you. That's right, you get to read about my snippet of a dream.

I'm following my dad along this road. The road doesn't exist in the real world, but in the dream world it's near my house. I'm following my dad somewhere, and take a look to my right. There's a big lake. Water reacts weirdly in my dreams apparently. Instead of only parts of the water reflecting light (like you see in a pool) that whole damn thing does, as if the sun were in the water. We go a further for a while, I don't really remember much until the part where we turn around. We walk by some winding street that goes up the side of a mountain (a mountain in Rhode Island? hat should have put me right into a lucid) on this street that are big houses, twice, maybe three times the size of mine. One is a beige/pinkish color, and kind of a medieval style. The house closest to the road that we're walking on is a pale blueish color, with a hint of purple. I make a remark to my dad about how rich you would ave to be to live in these houses, or something like that. I look to the left, and the once huge lake is now but a small pond next to a house that is more appropriately sized. We walk further and I turn around to notice a fat dog trailing me. It's a golden retriever, and it looks tired. (I actualyl don't know when this part occurred, but I know that it did). I pull out a map and see that the pale blueish-purple building that we had passed is in fact a mirror emporium! My dad make some joke about my saying that only the rich live there or some hooblah like that. We continue and take a right onto another street and the memory of the dream fades.

Well that turned about to be a bit more than a snippet, didn't it? Guess my dream recall hasn't suffered too much.

    7. Chains and Shackles / Victorian House / fOrceez (ToTM)

      NON-DREAMNOTESDREAMLUCID

(Note: I woke up around 3:00AM and decided to get up for a bit. I poured a tall glass of organic apple juice with a little elderberry concentrate added, and then I sat at the computer reading some posts on the DV forums. I read a thread titled I returned to bed around 4:00AM.)

I find myself standing in a small bathroom in an unfamiliar house. The walls have a dark floral wallpaper and the ceiling is covered with decorative square copper tiles. There is no toilet, but there is a tall urinal along the wall. The bathtub is an antique copper claw-foot tub. I look at the fancy copper trimmed mirror and I do not see my reflection. I immediately become lucid and jump into the mirror.

Once on the other side of the mirror, I am standing in an old musty root cellar. The walls are covered with sagging wooden shelves which are full of old dusty wine bottles. There is a single light bulb hanging by its wires in the middle of the ceiling. I walk over and pick up a bottle and I struggle for a second to read the label. I try to pull out the cork, then I reach in my pocket and pull out a cork remover. The wine smells like pungent cheese but it tastes like water. I take a second taste and the flavor slightly develops a sweet rose wine flavor which fades quickly.

Thinking that my lucidity is fading with the flavor, I look up at my surroundings and see that the root cellar has changed into a dungeon. There are rusty chains and shackles hanging on the walls and there are torches on posts sticking out of the floor. I walk over to the wall and feel one of the chains. The rust is gritty and the metal is very cold. There are thick sheets of cobwebs covering all of the walls. When I pull the chain away from the wall, another mirror is revealed. I see my reflection for a split second, then I decide not to get stuck in the mirror. I pull the chains away and take a step back, then jump into the mirror.

On the other side of the mirror, I find myself standing in a small dark bedroom. There is a small dim lamp on a table next to an open window. The curtains are hanging out of the window, blowing in the wind. The bed and dresser are antique Victorian style and there is scratchy music playing from an antique phonograph in the corner. The hardwood floor is dusty and creaks as I walk. I stop and look at a painting on the wall of an old farm scene when I hear someone cough. I look over to see that fOrceez is sitting on a chair next to the phonograph, reading a book. I take a couple of steps toward him and he lowers the book and looks at me over the top of his reading glasses, then he asks me, “How was your flight?” I reply, “It was quite fun, but I'm not done yet!” I quickly turn around and see that the mirror is still on the wall where I came through. I take several steps back and run into the mirror. The surface does not give way at all and I bounce off and fall on my ass. fOrceez laughs as I stand up, dust myself off, and glare at the mirror. I cannot see my reflection, rather just a dark gray TV static pattern. Deciding that I'll just find another mirror elsewhere, I jump out of the window and fall into the ocean.

(Note: For the first time that I can recall, falling did not wake me up or trigger a FA. I'm marking the last part as non-lucid because I think my lucidity was lost during the fall, but I'm fairly certain that I remained in the same dream.)

I hit the cold water and struggle for a moment to swim back to the surface. Once I regain a couple of breaths, I find that I am swimming in a very stormy ocean far from land. Just as I turn around to see if I am near anything, lightning strikes the water just in front of me. I suddenly wake up with the sound of the thunder still rumbling through my head.

I am walking down a city street when I decide to walk into a store called Guitar Land. When I first walk through the door, I notice that there are no guitars or amps anywhere to be found. There are several clothing racks in the middle of the store and many shelves around the perimeter. In the back of the store, there are a couple of aisles. I walk through the clothing section to the first aisle end cap display. There are some hanging chairs and bean bags on sale. The bean bags are $19.00 and the hanging chairs are $139.00. I pick up a tan bean bag and look at the chairs for a moment. I like the chairs, but I can't legitimize spending that much money on one of them. I walk a bit further and see a sign that says “50% off all furniture, clothing, etc. etc.” I think about it for a second, then I decide to go ahead and pick up a chair for $70.00. I return to the display and see another sign that says “50% off chairs, nude color only”. I select one which is “nude” color, then I wake up.

I am driving my truck down a small single-lane country road. As a couple of cars approach from the opposite direction, I hold my lane position and flash my headlights. Both cars quickly get out of the way. I arrive at a small house and park my truck beside the garage. A guy walks out of the house and points to a Toyota Camry sitting in the driveway and says, “That's the one.” It's a light tan, late 90's Camry with over-sized tires on it. I look in the window and see that the floor and seats are full of junk. He starts to move all of the stuff and I return to my truck to grab my backpack.

A lady approaches in another Toyota Camry and parks out along the road. She gets out and walks up to me, saying, “This one is 13 years old, so we bought this new one to replace it. It works well, but it's just old.” I reply, “That's not too old. It's just broke in.” She hands me the keys and walks into the house. I open the door of the car, but now there are no seats. The driver side has cushions on the floor and the center console is taking up half of the seating space. I go over to the passenger side and can actually fit in there. The car starts right up and I drive off.

As I'm driving down the single-lane dirt road, it is a struggle to figure out which gear the manual transmission should be in. It has a huge shifter like a road tractor which has entirely too many gear selections on it. As I drive along, constantly fighting with the shifter, I finally give up and pull over. I unfold a bicycle from my backpack and ride off, abandoning the car.

I am browsing through some boxes of records at a small record store in the mall. I find a couple of 5-LP sets that I like so I carry then over to the counter and pick up a shopping basket. Near the counter, the sales guy is in an argument with two guys about messing up his display. It looks like they may have knocked over a shelf, as there are CDs all over the floor.

I go back to the record display and dig around a bit more. I pick up a Kruder and Dorfmeister record sleeve and look inside to see that there is actually a CD in there. I quickly put it back on the shelf, then I notice that there are other boxes of records under the display that are quite disorganized. I sit down on the floor and dig through one of the boxes. While digging, one of the employees comes up to me and asks, “Can I help you find anything?” I reply, “I'm just browsing around. Thanks.” I pick up a box of 7” records to find another box under it. They kind of look like 78's, but they are only about 4” (10cm) in diameter. The employee sees me looking at these and asks, “Would you like to play any of those? There is a special player.”

He walks into the back room, then returns with a large, heavy box. He pulls out what looks like a record player without the platen on it. He plugs it in and turns it on. The shaft in the center starts to spin and he tells me to stick one of those small records on there. I look back at the box of small records, and they have all turned into wooden disks which are half-spherical in shape, perhaps like a half of a coconut shell, with a metal ring in the center which has some serrated edges on it. I pick one up and look at it strangely, then look at this player which he brought out. He says, “Just put it on and it will play.” I place one of these things on the spindle and it spins a half turn, then flops over to the side and makes a nasty scraping sound. Being disappointed with the sound, I pick up the wooden thing and put it back in the box. I tell the guy, “I'll just stick with the regular records, thanks.”

I walk away, then see a couple other people looking through some records on a table. The table is inside an aluminum and glass box which looks like a large phone booth, or perhaps a bus stop shelter. As soon as I get inside the box, the door closes behind me. A young Asian girl looks through the glass and says, “auto wash.” I try to open the door, but it is locked from the outside. Suddenly, water starts spraying all over me as if I am inside a dishwasher. I pull my phone out of my pocket and it shorts out and smokes a bit, then I drop it on the floor. I step back and try to bully my way through the door, but it won't budge. I turn around and run into the glass as hard as I can, and find myself laying on the floor outside the box.

I stand up and notice that I have immediately dried off. I look up and two guys are giving me a weird look. I look back at my clothes, then lift my arms and look at my hands. Becoming a bit suspicious, I look back at the guys and they have a terrified look on their face. I look at my hands again and become lucid. I look back at the two guys and they are stepping backwards, staring at me with terrified looks on their faces. I take a step toward them and say, “You can't fool me, I'm fucking dreaming. You missed your chance to prove otherwise.” I jump up and down and say, “Look ma, I'm fucking dreaming! Yay! Ain't this cool?”

Becoming bored with this scene, I decide to fly out through the wall and see what's on the other side. I levitate off the ground and those two guys run away as fast as they can. I look at the curtain covering a window and say, “This looks like a good spot.” I fly into the window and pass through without resistance. On the other side is the main corridor of the shopping mall. I continue flying and pass through the next wall which leads out to the street.

Once outside, I stop flying and settle onto the ground. I walk along for a bit, watching as everyone stops whatever they're doing, looks at me with a startled look, then scatters like roaches. Once I get around the corner, the DCs are not reacting as strangely. I walk along for a bit and enter a train station. The lines at the counter are long, so I reach into my pocket and summon a ticket. I pull out a ticket that says, ”Free ride anywhere you want” and then I proceed through the building and out into the terminal.

When I enter the terminal, I spot Oneironaut Zero standing near a light pole with a couple other guys. O is wearing a rainbow hat just like mine. I walk up to him and say, “I love that hat!” He laughs a bit, then continues talking with the other guys, so I start to walk away. As I turn, He says, “Hey, Jim. Sorry, I was deep in thought. You might want to watch this.” I turn around and walk back up to him to see that one of the other guys is lighting up a bowl. The guy takes a hit, then passes it to me. I fire it up, then suddenly wake up.

    12. Dreamsign recognized and exhilarating Lucidity

      by , 10-28-2010 at 07:07 PM
I am in my car, it is raining and I park the car to go to a shop. The area looks quite familiar, like an area of my city. When I come back, I can't find the car, I keep going around but am not able to find it. All of a sudden I recognize a typical theme of my dreams: not being able to find the place where I have parked my car. As soon as I recognize this dreamsign and recognize that I am dreaming, I feel exhilarated. First of all I change the weather of the dream: not rain anymore, but sun. Then I start laughing happy for having succeeded in having a LD and go around jumping feeling very light. Then I think that if I am having a LD I can try to have an OBE; as soon as I think this I find myself in my bed, even though I cannot see anything. I roll over sideways in the bed and start getting out. But the excitement is so high that I wake up.
