A few dreams from this morning. On one of the earlier awakenings I decided to make notes and stay up to try and force myself back into more usual sleeping habits. Some in-line notes.

      Dream:

I was in my old home's bedroom. H and mom were there. H had set up this pipe organ for me (though there were no pipes anywhere) and though I was actually playing poorly I was reading the notation extremely well which pleased me since I'm usually terrible at doing this. But in the dream it was assumed (by myself and the characters) that I was in fact playing well too. I remember walking into the kitchen after trying to play some pedal notes, and mom was there making some food. She was cooking some meats like beef chunks and black sausage type of thing in the big cast aluminium pan. It looked odd, and traditional, but seemed like it could be nice too.

Mom was disappointed though, she said if I "can play the organ, then why can't you do the dishes?". In the dream I felt that there was no reason I couldn't do the dishes, but I felt the need to argue her statement because I had never had any piano lessons or any suchlike, which L and T did; I also presented the fact I was (apparently) doing really well with playing and the fact that I had never really understood music at all in the school, so this was a success or improvement over that. I felt some disappointment myself that mom couldn't just cherish this. In the dream I remember at some later point standing in the corridor and hearing L playing some DOTA game, and I think T was just in their own room, in the dark, which lead me to assume T was sleeping for some reason. It was night time through out the entire dream.

      Dream:

Dreamed something a bit like the game I had played the last night (and this night) with H, in some watery and dark underground place. But then there were some fire enemies and I ran into a stairwell as I made distance from them; then the situation was a lot less game-like and more realistic and though I didn't feel afraid because of the fire, I made my way up the stairwell anyway, as did some other random people that appeared, some of which I apparently already knew on a personal level, classmates in the dream context or something.

I took my time going up the steps for whatever reason, sort of fooling around by doing a full step by actually stepping on every bit of each step with my feet as smoke would start from each place I had just stepped on. This went on for a short while, after which I continued going on up the stairs. I walked into a room from one of the stair landings, with some random girl my age or so? I opened a window to the fire escape for the building. I do remember a girl (Sol) I knew from school a long time ago, who seemed to be in the dream as filler. As I looked out the window and opened a latch on its left side, I could see a fireman on a ladder approaching (and emergency lights?) and as he got closer and came in through the window we told him it was nothing to worry about really.

I remember there was some antagonistic element to the dream from when I was climbing the stairs earlier; there was this group of angry radicals from downstairs who insisted on something about the fire and basically made a big deal out of nothing. The firemen that came through the window shrugged and sincerely said it would be fine since there was nothing to worry about and they told us that they'd switch the main power on in a second. Weird, since it hadn't seemed to be off at all. There was some side or sub-plot, involving a Gollum from China or something, who was being tortured. (Probably from recently playing Fallout)

      Dream:

Super cheesy 80s programme intro, of a show apparently called "Rexxar : Star Trek". I was watching it on Youtube or something like it, with quite a focus "tunnel vision".

There was a vividly clear music with a leading electric guitar and other typical sounds from the 80s and some generic synth sounds. The visual elements of the montage were defined by the fact that they were little square "cuts" of other scenes, presumably from the programme itself, presenting the whole thing in a certain cheesy feel. Those square cuts mostly featured head shots of sexy and almost half naked women and some of the cuts had stills of Rexxar from Warcraft, as well as mini montage being featured in one of these square cuts showing a cartoony/kids-style but real cake of Rexxar being made or put together.

Everything in the video montages had a very pure white backdrop thing going on. Despite the cheesy aspect, the dream video was amazingly vivid, just as the music.

The characters, the women, were nobody that I recognise(d) and just felt like generic constructs appropriate for the context, but there was some underlying feeling of them being famous within the context.

The dream ended shortly after this intro video, when the show "started" by showing some sort of big teddy bear thing on a swivel chair in a very fancy post modern designer house. Vividness was much lower as soon as the intro cut to this sequence. I remember thinking in the dream that the whole thing was somewhat stupid, and that it had nothing to do with Rexxar (despite the featured cuts).
    2. April 3, 2018 Non-Lucid

The idea was back when I played rec basketball when I was younger. I was upstairs on the second floor of a complex on a basketball court. Something was occurring, someone was talking to me about something. The scene went to a small room that looked like a little coffee shop. There was a group of people looking at me. The game was now baseball and I was up at bat. I was swinging and missing. I could hear my friend JP asking me why I sucked so bad.

There was another part of the dream held on the coast of a city. My sight was looking at three people on the very top of a parking garage overlooking the ocean. It was like a montage for one of the people to get better at basketball. That person was a guy with long curly hair wearing mostly black. At some point the view was over the edge of the garage looking at the ocean. The guy was telling a younger girl to jump into the ocean but she was afraid their parents were going to be upset.

There might've been other things going on in the chickahominy basketball court but I can't remember.

    3. Survival Montage

      by , 06-17-2013 at 05:07 PM
Yesterday, I got a post apocalyptic game called The Last of Us, and played it for 12+ hours until I beat the story. The following dream was inspired by the game.

So in the dream, I was turned back into a kid again, I was in my teens like 13 to 14 years old. I was trying to survive on my own from the infected until I find this family. This family consisted of a mother, and her two children; a brother and sister, I did not get their names though. The family took a liking to me and let me join their group to survive with them. While I'm helping them with their travels I talk to the brother and sister, I found out that the sister who is the older one of the two is teaching her younger brother to survive. After this the dream went into a forest setting, and the brother, sister, and I do a training montage. The sister taught her brother close quarters combat, then we teach him how to properly throw hatchets, then finally how to sneak, via capture the flag. The flag was in an open area of the forest, next to a sand pit. The brother was moving silently through the brush to see if there was an opening. I hid behind a bush that was overlooking the flag, until I saw him. I immediately went in to catch him, but got beat to it; his sister tackled him next to the flag. After, we all laughed and I woke up.
    4. Day 8 - The Battle of the Bears

This one was definitely entertaining. I quite enjoyed it.

I was in a really small community with people who I referred to as my parents though they really weren't. It was a pretty forest-y area, and quite often came under attack by a family of four bears. The attacks were always non-lethal, and almost playful if the members of the community didn't get so angry about it.

In one attack, the bears came armed with hammers (the father bear had a gun-hammer), and in a frenzy, I chased them into the forest. I eventually got lost and ended up wandering into their home.

It was somehow part tree-house, part cave, and they weren't happy I had entered their home. They tried to fight me and get me out, starting with the youngest bear, the son. He appeared to be a stereotypical cartoon bear and wore a small vest and hat. He attacked with a hammer, and I easily incapacitated him. The mother bear, dressed in only a shirt, came next, and she was dispatched relatively easily. The daughter bear was wearing a sort of fur bikini, and had a much more human face and a round black nose. She swung her hammer around, making it hard to get close to her, but I disarmed her by throwing my hammer and knocking hers out of her hands. She fled, and I chased her down, grabbing her around the waist. She fought back (rather playfully, and laughing all the while), and when I brought her back to the room where we started fighting, I set her down and the father bear (who was the most realistic and didn't wear anything) asked "Why are you in our home? Why won't you leave us alone?"

I replied that it was because they started attacking us, and I just got caught up the moment. We came to some sort of agreement, and they helped me build a rocket ship to leave their home. It was probably the cave segment, being deep underground, and requiring some serious effort to get up from there.

Flash forward about three months (I actually watched a montage of us building it) and the rocket is done. I launch out of the bears' home and come up in the middle of my little community. It's winter now, and my family is remodeling the house. For some reason, everyone is out and about and looking really sad. I walk up to my dad, and he says to go get ready for a party. I walk up to my house and the front door is partially painted and hung crooked in the door frame. I open it and walk upstairs, accidentally brushing against a wall and getting wet paint on my shirt. Then, I get undressed shower. It's about here that I wake up.

I've just realized that the construction of the house at the end of the dream is similar to that of my grandfather's condominium. Altogether a quite entertaining dream!
    5. Day 5: "I have had it with these mother f****** snakes, on this mother f****** train!"

      by , 02-04-2011 at 02:56 AM (A Penrose Mind)
"everybody strap in, were about to open some fucking windows."
To quote the great Samuel L. Jackson.

I almost lost my dream recall today but it slowly came flowing back to me. This dream is a little odd (like all dreams) and unfortunately I almost became lucid but it didn't work out to well. There are probably a lot of memories that fell through the cracks but I have pretty much the most of it.

      Fragment 1:
My dream starts off with me reliving a false memory. I'm in a hotel (this hotel is a dream space I've been in before) and there is a tower of Smirnoff bottles on a table inside of a dining area. Smirnoff is my favorite drink, so I'm tempted to take a bottle. I take one while no one is looking. I decide to go to the corner of the room to drink it. After a while I drift into the main part of the room to see what happens. No one seems to care, so I finish the rest of the drink in clear view.

      Fragment 2:
I'm in my apartment (dream sign). A broadcast is playing in my living room. The broadcast has something to do with minds and mind control, but I don't know how exactly. I sense that the broadcast in the living room is incomplete, and that I'd find a more detailed broadcast in my room. I go in my room and turn on the tv. The Asian guy from the dharma initiative from LOST is on it, except he looks much younger, like 18 or so. He is also talking about mind control, but also about dreams. The gist of what he said, had something to do with invading people's dreams and controlling their minds. What he's talking about is something of a cross between the dharma initiative from lost and Inception. In the video he's on a beach, and another man accompanies him by his side, who from time to time he'll mock for being insignificant in comparison to him. Soon after the broadcast ends.

      Fragment 3:
I'm still in my apartment in this dream, but the plot is way different. There's a "bad guy" whose coming to my apartment to hurt me or something, and I'm trying to prepare myself for the inevitable. My dad and grandma are very protective of me. Dream topography's very weird here. It's as if my apartment (although it is on the fourth floor in waking life) is underground, and my balcony is some sort of entrance to a secret passage way, which leads to some sort of medieval dungeon. For some reason we all know he's going to come through that way. The passage/dungeon is lit by some sort of electrical torch system (for some reason the torches remind me of minecraft). My dad is about to turn off the torches so the "bad guy" won't be able to see his way. But I plead him no because apparently I know this "bad guy" and he's my friend, and he's really only mad at me or something. The "bad guy" draws closer. I go into my room and prepare to barricade my door, but when I prepare to push my couch against the door, I notice that my room's a wreck, and that there are turned over drawers and crayons everywhere.

"I'm done." I think to myself.

      Fragment 4:
Miranda Cosgrove (google it) and I think Jennette McCurdy (also google) are auditioning for a Sorority. There in what appears to be theater. (for some reason Miranda and Jennette are in the seating area and the sorority girls are sitting at a table on the stage.) The sisters interviewing them ask them if there "fun", or "crazy", or "adventuress" or something like that. Miranda replies "I once kissed a six year old." (okay?) Jennette replies "Have you ever heard of murder? Yeah." (I think she's implying that she killed someone?). The sisters aren't buying it. The two need to do a test. Steal a saxophone from this guy while he's sleeping. Easy enough.

Suddenly I go into a first person view (I'm not sure if I'm in my body or Miranda's, but I'm pretty sure I'm in mine). I'm with someone else (It's dark so I don't know if it's Jennette or not, but for some reason I don't think it is). We both infiltrate the room. There are two people inside, sleeping. We sneak up to him and prepare to take the saxophone. His roommate wakes up. His roommate is Phillip j. Fry from futurama. We both freeze. He doesn't notice us.

"I don't like japanese people poking around in my mind." He says as he gets out of bed.

(this is a reference to the previous dream fragment, apparently this person in the broadcast had tried invading Fry's dreams to control his mind)

He leaves the room and we get back to business. I reach for the saxophone. He moves (Something in my head tells me at level 2 consciousness, whatever that means). I take the saxophone.

      Fragment 5:
There's someone who I need to capture. A very bad man (I believed he killed a puppy or something. There's only one thing I know about him for sure: He's wanted for $200 dead and $1000 alive. This next part takes place in the fallout 3 engine (technically it's fallout new vegas). I'm looking through a first person view (although I am not controlling the body). The song Montage from team america world police is playing in the background. This guy takes various weapons and shoots them at a target. These weapons include the M-16 and the All-American from fallout new vegas. When the "always fade out in a montage" part of the song starts playing, my vision slowly fades out. The last thing this man does is take up a weapon repair kit from the table he was firing on. He then takes off (I believe this man was me).

      Fragment 6:
My vision fades back in. I'm on the subway, on my way to capture the bounty. I think to myself, "Aw yeah, 1000 bones." Then I started thinking about why some people call money "bones". Suddenly, a woman with a bag in her hands sits down fairly close to me. She seems to be in a panic, she's frantically shaking, as if she just stole the bag from someone, but I didn't see her take it from anyone.

"Okay, I got the snakes." She says in a shaky voice.

She reaches into the bag and brings out a red snake and throws it on the train floor. I start to mildly freak out, so I move as far away from her as possible and decide to get off at the next stop. Suddenly things seem a little odd to me. I reach up to my nose and prepare for a reality check,
and I wake up. It seemed that I had control of my outside body instead of my dream one.

"Damn, what time is it like 11:30?" I say to myself.

      I look at the clock.

      I wake up at around 4:35 a.m., 3rd of February 2011.

C'mon, really? Again? Whatever. (I did have a glass of juice before I went to sleep so that may have been the reason).

Well this was a rather long and fragmented dream. But hey, at least I was able to use a snakes on a plane reference (btw, there really is a movie called snakes on a train, it sucked).

I wasn't as hellbent on having a lucid dream yesterday since it was a snow day and I just kind of relaxed, hopefully I have better luck next time, I still want to practice dream control

      Sweet dreams everyone
