      WILD

I had a few uninteresting normal dreams last night. I decided to attempt a WILD during a nap and this is what happened...

I began to feel the body buzz and soon SP fully set in. There were flashes of a beach and ice cream and some other random stuff I can no longer remember. A dream scene started to slowly come into focus. It was blurry, but I could see a man hovering over me. A narrator began to speak as the man started raining hay-makers, rocking my head against the ground in the process. Narrator, "Everyone has those moments...where they feel like all is lost...like their down and out...your life flashes before your eyes and you think about all the choices you have made to this point...wondering where you went wrong...many accept defeat...killing themselves from the inside out...me...I do things differently..." The dream had seemed to have stabilized.

Since I was absolutely getting my ass kicked the entire time the narrator was speaking, I thought it would be silly to just stand up like nothing was wrong. I slowly rolled up to one knee and the guy (who appeared to be a gang member) kicked me in the face, knocking me flat one my back. I spit out a mouth full of blood and rolled over to my side. I spotted a good size shard of glass laying on the ground next to me. I stealthily snatched it and began to laugh at my attacker. He up beside me, hovered over my face and said, "What the f*** is so funny b*tch? You haven't had enough?" I immediately spit in his face and sank the glass shard into the back of his foot. I then ripped it through his achilles tendon, causing him to topple over in agony. I scrambled to my feet and scanned the area. I pulled a nearby road sign out of the concrete and beat the guys head to mush. I took his gun and began performing some stabilization techniques. Everything seemed very clear and vivid. My friend Ryano came running up to me and asked if I was ok. I told him that the guy had pistol whipped me before I could get any information from him. Ryano looked at the dead guy and muttered, "Damn!" I then took off down the street and soon the dream scene changed.

I was in a building with white walls that were lined with a zebra-like black stripe pattern. I came upon a section of the building that had many mirrors set up. I heard someone approaching, so I ducked down behind a structure and located the person using the mirrors. It was Ryano. He was talking on a radio to someone. Ryano, "Russell couldn't get the job done...No, he is dead...I don't know, his brains are splattered along the f***ing sidewalk...Don't worry I handle it myself..."
Somewhere around here I lost lucidity. I snuck around behind Ryano and put a gun to the back of his head. I whispered in his ear, "Traitors burn in hell." I then pulled the trigger before he could get a word out. He dropped dead, face first. There wasn't any actual gunfire, noise, or a wound, but he was dead. I grabbed his pistol and took off running toward the front of the building. 5 well dressed agents closed in on my position and we engaged in an intense gunfight. Again, no actually shots were fired, but people dropped whenever I hit them. After taking care of the agents I hauled ass toward the front of the building. I suddenly fell fast first, because I had been shot in the back of the leg. As I hit the ground, I turned a shot the agent who had popped me. I scrambled to my feet and began limp/running to the front of the building where I heard, "Aaaannnndddd CUT!" There was a film crew and the front and we all had been acting out a movie the entire time. The director spoke for a few moments, but I don't remember what it was about.

The next thing I remember, I am at a very fancy movie theater. I'm with Cort who was wearing a white dress, white gloves, a diamond necklace, and a diamond tiara. She looked absolutely stunning. I was wearing a suit. We were watching a movie scene that contained myself, Denzel Washington, and Ian Mckellen. We were in a office that looked like it belonged to a very wealthy man. Mckellen was sitting behind a desk, me and Denzel were standing in front of the desk. My character was watching the door and Denzel began to speak. (I don't remember all of the dialogue, but here is some of it)...Denzel looked pissed as he spoke, "Did you really think you could just ship me off and the past would never catch up to you?" Mckellen replied, "It was to protect you. We..." Denzel interrupted with an angered voice, "Protect me from what? You weren't protecting me. You were protecting yourself!" Mckellen was now raising his voice. He slammed his fist on the table and stood up, "We raised you like you were our own. Gave you everything you could ever want! Loved you like any parent would!" Denzel smiled and replied, "What about Teressa...Jermaine...little Michael? You left them to die. Never even mentioned they were my family." Mckellen sighed and calmly said, "It couldn't be helped." Denzel then pulled his gun and pointed it at Mckellen's face. Mckellen gave a faint smile and spoke, "Are you going to shoot your own father?" "You aren't my father." replied Denzel as he pulled the trigger. Mckellen fell face down onto the desk. My character spoke, "We need to go...NOW!" There were some action scenes next with some gunfights and whatnot. The movie abruptly stopped during the action scenes.

Some people in the theater began screaming and pointing at the ceiling. There was a massive crack in the roof and it was slowly growing. We exited the theater immediately, and I met up with Chris R, Sardaddy, and Just H. We took a smoke break and talked about the movie (which was the premier of my first big supporting role). The movie was called "Warranted Revenge." I awoke during the conversation.

      Dream One (a)
      "Extinction-Level Event"

(This was the most horrifying, emotional set of dreams I have had in a while...)

      The Earth had been invaded.
High above what could have been every major city in the world, as far as I knew, massive alien spacecrafts hovered. They had come on the scene and looked down upon us, over the span of about 3 days. We never once got to see what these aliens looked like. Instead, they communicated with us telepathically, without ever having to leave their vessels. At first, they didn't say much. I really don't remember if they said anything at all, the first few days. They just kind of loomed over our heads, apparently observing us. Their intentions, at this point, were completely unclear.

Life somewhat continued, even with the presence of our 'visitors,' looming overhead. One day, I had made a few rounds to see some old friends. I know I saw quite a few of my people, but the only ones that really stood out were my baby's mom (who I'll call "G"), and an old "friend with benefits." There was another ex who I believe I might have seen as well, but I'm not exactly sure. Anyway, at one point, G and girl #2 sort of merged and became one person, with different attributes from both (and, of course, I didn't find this strange enough to become lucid ). We went to a fast-food restaurant and either the person on the drive-thru headset couldn't hear me, or there was some other reason why the girl(s) ended up having to go inside through a back door, while I pulled the car around front. Later that night, we were back at an apartment that we were apparently sharing, except I had my own room, and she had one. Despite the knowledge that there were enormous, city-sized space-ships hovering high over our heads, it seemed like a pretty normal night. She ended up going to sleep early, and it wasn't until well into the night that I remembered she had the bag of food with her, and it was now locked away in her room. I didn't feel like waking her up to get it, though, and just shrugged it off. The next morning, she was simply back to G's normal self. All resemblance of the other girl had vanished. It was on the third day (I believe) of their occupation, that the aliens finally decided to give us some insight. Not bothering to pay us any door-to-door visits, the beings simply beamed their thoughts into our heads. We were informed, rather matter-of-factly, that our entire species was about to be exterminated, and that, since they had took up positions that would allow their weapons to sweep over the entire planet, any attempts of escape were completely unnecessary. Armageddon was upon us, and there was nothing we could do about it.

Panic. It barely even had enough time to set in, before the bombing began. Thunderous booms shook our apartment, each one seeming as if were right outside our window. I was absolutely terrified - not so much of death, itself, but the thought of suffering until death. G was, surprisingly, not very affected by the situation. She seemed 100% sure that we were not going to suffer; that it would be quick, painless and peaceful. The chorus of explosions - stomping around the area outside - didn't instill the same sort of confidence within me. With my eyes wide with fear, and my voice the epitome of hysteria, I screamed at her the possibility of our building collapsing, and the two of us being caught in the rubble for God knows how long, our bodies broken, buried, and left to die, waiting for hope that would never come. Amazingly, she responded with a scoff. "Pfft. That only happens in movies," she said. I was floored, immediately switching from frightened to furious that she would just dismiss such a likely scenario. I said "what are you talking about?! Being get trapped in collapsed buildings all the time!! Don't you watch the news?!" My tirade was cut short by a few more deafening blasts, even closer than the previous ones. The entire building shook, and I was actually thrown off of my feet. This one apparently rattled G as well, because we both grabbed each other and huddled together on the bed - our heads ducking in unison; hearts jumping out of our chests with each successive bang from outside.

I was a complete wreck. I don't know that I've ever been so scared. Unable to control my fear, I burst into tears, absolutely terrified of the horrible death that would soon be coming for us. But, once again, G remained rather stoic. She held me close, cradling my head to her, and actually began singing to me to console me! (It was just the most incredible situation, seeing as how I'm usually the one with my head screwed on during stressful times.) Suddenly, there was one final BOOM, right on top of us, and everything went black. (The whole thing reminded me of the final scene in Cloverfield.)

In the 3 or 4 seconds of darkness, I received a message. I can't recall if I saw it in my field of vision, or if it was just telepathic. The message was just kind of 'there.' The message was "You and your daughter..." and that was it. I have absolutely no idea what it was supposed to mean, or where it came from. (Oddly enough, my daughter never made an appearance in the dream.)

      Dream One (b) (FA)
I suddenly 'awoke' on the same bed, eyes full of tears. I looked around the room, which seemed completely undisturbed, and found G sitting on the floor. There were pizza boxes stacked on some of the furniture, and G looked as if we'd just been lounging around the house, shooting the shit all day. Sitting up with a start, I frantically asked her about the aliens, and why the bombing would have just suddenly stopped. She looked at me like she didn't have any clue what the fuck I was talking about. My mind raced. I was thinking that there was just no way I could have imagined all of that. With an extreme sense of urgency, I asked her to tell me what the date was. She didn't know it, so I asked her what day of the week it was, and she said Tuesday. Tuesday, I remembered, was the day that the aliens had actually showed up. I had been transported back to Tuesday...but there were no aliens this time! The only thing I could keep asking myself was 'How is this possible??'

G looked over at the window, a bright light flooding into the room. Passively, she said "that's really pretty," and I was immediately alarmed. I looked out the window, myself, expecting to seeing the bright, swelling light of a nuclear explosion, ready to brace for yet another inevitable shock wave. However, there was no explosion. It was just the sun, rising into the sky, at the beginning of this new day. There really were no aliens, this time. I wasn't able to believe - for one minute - that what I had experienced was a dream. Instead, I figured that I was somehow given another chance at life. I had somehow been transported back to that Tuesday, but without the threat of attack. The human race was no longer in danger of being exterminated. Relief doesn't even begin to describe how I felt. I was practically shaking. The emotions flooded back into me, and I began to cry softly. My eyes remind dry, but if the tears had come, they would have been tears of joy for simply being alive.

(When I woke up from this dream, I felt like I had a hole in my chest. I was completely emotionally drained, and I just sat and stared at the floor for a good five minutes. There is really nothing like honestly believing you are about to die, and then suddenly waking up, safe and sound in your bed. I was numb for a good portion of the day, after coming back from this insane trip.)

      "Reptiloid"

I remember that there was a lot that went on, early in this dream, but the first thing I actually recall is being at a park with some friends. There was a small pond nearby, and a friend and I were playing some kind of ball game near it. We had some awareness that there were gators in the water but, before then, we hadn't really paid any heed to it. Then, we noticed some small animal - a duck or something - making is way toward the shore. Before it could make it, though, a couple of gators splashed into view and violently attacked the animal, tearing it to shreds. Then, they turned toward us...exposed snouts slowly floating in our direction. Not quite sure what to do, we waited for a moment, seeing the gators crawl up onto the embankment, stalking our way. We then took off, running back toward our group. Knowing full well that alligators aren't the fastest creatures on land, we never could have been prepared for what happened next. The gators actually extended their - once short and stubby - legs, sprinting after us like greyhounds, on thick, muscular, canine-esque legs.

There was no way we were going to out-run them, and things looked even worse, when another two gators shot out from behind a jungle gym, far off to one side of us. They were closing in just as fast, and we were running out of places to go. We'd made it to the picnic table where the rest of our friends were sitting. Seeing us approach, with these mutated reptiles on our heels, the group immediately stood up. I took running leap and jumped up on top of the table, everyone else doing the same. We were now surrounded, these beasts trying ferociously to climb up onto the table, snapping their razor-sharp jaws at us, only to be kicked or beaten back with anything we could use as weapons. What's even more strange about these creatures were that they were coated with what, at first, looked like slime. But, after the gators were out of the water for a certain length of time, they actually began to melt, sizzling down to steaming piles of this sort of seaweed green goo. The creature were coated in some sort of organic corrosive liquid, like acid. I screamed out to everyone not to touch them, and that all we had to do with hold them off until they all either retreated or melted under their own secretions.

I don't remember whether or not we all got away, though.

      Fragment
(I completely forgot a lucid, last night. I hate when that happens. )
The only thing I remember is something about having to run through a deadly network of traps, like in the new Predators movie. Later, I had become lucid. I remember showing off a couple of lucid tricks, such as walking across a pool of water, and sinking my arm into a wall. When I walked across the water, I found it kind of hard to keep myself levitating, and one of my feet actually dunked completely under, leaving my shoe feeling soggy and wet.

      "Penrose"

This dream had something to do with Inception, but I can't remember exactly how it tied in. (I had been watching the movie, when I went to bed.) There was a gunfight going on, in and around some multi-tiered structure, at night. There were some snipers around the facility, and my group and I spent most of our time on the run. I don't remember much, but there was a certain high pillar or something, that I kept falling off of. Before I hit the ground, I would realize that this was all a dream, and my first instinct would be to try to wake myself up, before impact. But instead of waking up, I would simply restart the dream from the beginning, having lost lucidity. I would then get back to that same pillar, fall off again, realize I was dreaming and instinctually try to wake myself up, before I hit the ground. And then I would just start the dream over again. I don't know how many times I did this, but it was quite a few. Some time later, my friends and I had gotten back into the area where the pillar was. Something had changed this time, though, and we ended up taking a different trail, slipping down into a trap door in the floor, away from our attackers. We ended up in a house that was somehow "under" the facility that we'd been fighting in.

The next day came. We were still in the house, but the whole facility above us - along with the whole gunfight scenario - was gone. We were partying a bit. My friend Sam was there, and her and the others were passing around some liquor. I kept trying to get some, but every time I would get close to the bottle, it would get passed over to somebody else, and out of my reach.
    5. The Weird Theater

Umm...somehow the other DJ entry was posted automatically...so...this is the same one, just FINISHED
      Attempted MILD, unsuccessful

I dream that I was in a movie theater watching,"Tron:Legacy." It didn't look like Tron but it felt like it was, I don't know who I was sitting next to but I whispered to the person next to me,"Just wait, it will get better!"
      Thats when i woke up.

The weird thing is, the screen was white with black walls, and this motorcycle was just dodging them, no dialogue, no color...

But it felt like it was the beginning of the movie,"Tron:Legacy."

By the way, i saw the movie and it was cool
    6. Party in Wrightwood / Tron (Night of December 22-23)

by , 01-14-2011 at 07:57 AM (The Lab Notebook)
Awake, Non-lucid, [Commentary made while awake]

[This is a catch-up post. This dream is from the night of December 22-23, 2010.]

I'm riding in the back of my parents' car as we drive to the home of a friend of mine in Wrightwood. As we drive along the winding mountain road [which has appeared in at least one dream before this one, but I don't think I bothered to write it down], I notice that a Walgreens has opened in this remote little mountain town, and I am bothered by its presence there. I feel that it spoils the natural, rustic ambiance of the place. As the drive goes on, I start to feel sleepy.

We arrive at my friend's house. I meet their dog, and I'm nowhere near as afraid of being met by a new dog as I used to be
[in real life]. Inside the house, there is a party going on, with lots of people. I eat dinner with some of them in the living room. The topic of conversation is how people who move out here to the mountains do so because they want to be 100% original and avoid letting big corporations influence their lifestyle too much, which is why the presence of a Walgreens is so offensive to the people who live here.

I wander into another room of the house, where I find a dog and a cat. Oh, great, I think. Now I'm going to have an allergy attack.
[This is exactly how I would react to this situation in reality, by the way.] There are a whole bunch of different games set up on two different tables in this room. One of them is a stack of bowls, each with a vocabulary question and answer printed on it and a logo that reads “OKWords.” Another is a fallen phrases puzzle whose solution is an invocation to some mythological (possibly Norse?) god of death. There are quite a few people in this room, too. One of them is wearing a purple dinosaur suite, and another has some Pokemon dolls. As I'm walking around in the room, someone sends me back into the other room to find out what everyone there wants to drink. I walk back into the first room to find out. There is a large tray of cookies and other goodies on the table in that room; I eat a blueberry off of it.

The dream shifts to a new dream. Now, I'm in a movie/book titled Tron.
[It has absolutely nothing to do with the real-life Tron.] The story I'm in involves an alternate dimension, which is accessed through a big, hidden doorway. Said alternate dimension is a typical epic fantasy world, and the story that takes place there has a lot of the universal mythic feel of the original Star Wars trilogy. I can understand why people are so insulted by the lightshow that is the new Tron; it has none of this mythic feel at all. [In real life, I've seen the original Tron, but not the new one. The content of this dream was based entirely on Internet hearsay about the new one.] There is a very clear scene in which the bad guys get through the aforementioned hidden doorway, and watch the good guys' actions on giant magical screens that are really interdimensional gateways.

The scene shifts again. Now, rather than being in the scene from the old Tron, I'm watching it with a group of people I know in real life, including Guy and some of my fellow students from his classes. As I watch, I realize that the scene we're watching was shot at Disneyland, due to the disguised but clearly visible Matterhorn in one broad shot of the landscape. I say aloud, “Wow, awesome! I won't say it, I'm just thinking it very loudly.”

The scene shifts again. Now that same group of people and I are on the train that goes around
[this particular dream version of] Disneyland. We pass several other park landmarks that have been disguised to look like other things, like the Matterhorn was. The train passes behind a large, white, curved, several-story office building. I am shooting ahead of the train, flying on hover boots. As the train and I approach the Tron station (where we started our train trip around the park), I tell the boots to slow down, because my legs are starting to hurt from being kept bent at a 90-degree angle at the knee so that I can stay upright while using the hover boots. I say aloud, “Slow down, boots. Please?” They don't slow down. My alarm woke me up out of this scene, which disappointed me, because it was a really cool dream. I was also dismayed to realize that meeting the dog and not being afraid of it had been a dream.

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I'm with an asian girl in a city. I'm helping her do some stunts on her skate, which had videogame-like controls. She doesn't want to continue but I tell her that she's just quitting without really trying. Then we hold hands in a really weird way for the next stunt. After that I vaguely remember dreaming about some guy who killed people who told others about lucid dreaming to keep it a secret.

In which man pays for his mistakes (Non-lucid)

      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

I went to a place with my family where they had a virtual reality program that let you experience what it would be like if man had to pay for all of his mistakes (yeah, that's what the dream literally said) Don't rember mut about the actual experience but after it happened I started a new job as a bathroom cleaner. My aunt was also working as a bathroom cleaner and she told me everything about the job. After I'd learnt everything there is to know about cleaning bathroom a middle aged lady entered and refused to flush her toilet. She was also very rude so I started being a smartass and saying weird things about her shit.

The lady left angry but returned somewhat later as the head of the customer association and I had to go to the bosses office, where I was reprimanded.

After that I sort of wished that man really did have to pay for all of his mistakes and that's whenthe whole world really did go to shit
(I think at some point of the dream I or my hole family had been given wishing powers), the apocalypse started to happen, buildings started coming downand some other things happened which I cannot remember. After that I vaguely remember getting into a gunfight with my family. Then we got into a car and had to drive to safety before the sun came up or we'd all burn to death on the way a car from the gunfight started shoting at us but we managed to avoid it.

We arrived at a weird factor where a man stole our powers and did a jedi mind trick on us to make us forget. After some more driving we arrived at a safe town where there was no technology. At this point my family momentarily became the simpsons family and Lisa complained avout the breakfast that was some kind of weird vegetable but Bart said it was good and homer agreed.

In the end it turned out that I'd never left the virtual reality program from the beginning and that It had all been part of the experience. On the way out my brother told me that the whole adventure had been just like a movie he saw where the same sort of thing happened to two astronauts
(here the dream shifts and I'm watching the movie)

Two astronauts hadn't made the cut for the next space mission, which had only places for eighteen people, but they'd been good enough that they were selected for special training for the next one. They had to live together for a while and they were told that they needed to have as much trust around each other as they did with their loved ones. The male astronaut said goodbye to his loved one, a beautiful tall blonde woman and entered a train with the female one, who happened to be a girl I'd seen around high school and I thought that I'd never known she was an actress.

      Notes: Longest dream yet!
    8. 12/31/2010 - "Live Fire"

      "Live Fire"

This dream was basically a live-action first person shooter. It was 100% realistic - as in; I was running around, in real life, literally trying to stay alive, and not just playing some video game. It was also very intense. Along with your regular, gun-toting bad guys, there were supernatural elements thrown into the scenario as well. Not only that, but I also had to square off against "bosses" like the Terminator and RoboCop. Throughout the ordeal, I was sometimes forced to ride around the suburbs, stealing cars and whatnot, to get to my objectives. I remember that of my missions had something to do with someone's family. I went to their house, armed with some kind of sub-machine gun, I believe, and showed up just as the wife was putting her kids in the car. While I was coming up the driveway, she turned and spotted me. Immediately, as if on instinct, the woman swiped her hand down, snatching up a handgun from her side, and just started blasting away at me, forcing me to dash away for cover.

Later, I had to face-off against RoboCop, although it wasn't the original RoboCop. It was my cousin, Mario, walking around as RoboCop. Not only did he have the trademark armor and automatic pistol, but he also had a shoulder cannon with the red, triangle-shaped, laser sight that the Predator uses, its three beams clearly visible in the air, whenever he was surrounded by smoke. There were also these "ghosts" or "reapers" or something, I had to fight against. They were see-through spirits, which floated around with scythes, which were the keys to their power. With the scythes, they could control time and space, and the weapons would essentially grant wishes for whomever was good enough to steal one of them. The wraiths used them to rewind time, whenever I would kill one of them, bringing their brethren back to life and forcing me to try and kill them all over again.

(Tried a little dream incubation, this morning, and paid for it. I had turned on Avatar, focusing on my intention to draw myself into the movie, through DILD. Unfortunately, it worked. Quite possibly the most painful dream I have ever had in my life. I wasn't even on B6, but I did have a good liquor buzz when I went to bed. It was just as intense, though.)

I was Jake from Avatar, standing high in one of the mighty, cloud-scraping trees of Pandora. The war with Quaritch was soon coming, and the rest of the Na'vi were off somewhere, preparing for battle. I was being trained by a man who identified himself as an old arch-enemy of mine. He looked human, but this dude was huge; bigger than I was, even at Na'vi size. (He kind of looked like this picture of Heihachi Mishima, but thicker, with longer limbs, and completely bald.) According to this guy, I wasn't ready to face Colonel Quaritch. I was still "just Jake," and - as this guy would tell it - was not accustomed to my Na'vi form enough to maximize potential. So, he was about to teach me about how to manage my pain. Apparently, as I had somehow already known, this powerful man was planet-renown for his skills, and my best move would be to listen to everything he said. I braced myself, knowing I was going to be in for a tough trial.

Suddenly, I was rocked in the stomach, with a fist that would have caused a human being to explode on contact. Another one followed, with yet another close behind. Before I knew it, I was on my knees, in agony, my ribs feeling like they were being beaten in with a baseball bat. He didn't stop, though, screaming at me to get up, before slamming me with another body shot. This man was definitely not human. His strength was something out of a video game, and I could swear I was able to sense the shock waves jetting off of each punch to my midsection.
I honestly don't know of many times I've ever felt pain like this - if any. The blows rained in on me...almost rhythmically. He was in no rush. Just punching away, at his leisure. Completely unprepared for this, I tried desperately to drag myself away from him; helpless.

I didn't know if he was supposed to be teaching me or was actually trying to kill me. That was until he began to explain how I had the potential to block all of the pain out of my mind, and maintain focus and endurance for battle. He said that it was something that all warriors were able to do, and that I would be able to tap into the Na'vi's ability to do it at an accelerated rate. He wasn't exactly nice about it, though... Each punch would drive itself into my gut, and I would yell out in pain, this man's only response being to yell back at me for not taking it like a warrior.

...I definitely didn't feel like a warrior, at the time...

More punches came, and I was now in too much collective pain to fight back, even if I wanted to. Still, I dragged myself along the gargantuan branch beneath us, which easily supported our bodies, without wavering. He was all over me, though, and just would not fucking let up. He jumped from one side of me to the other, anytime I would start trying to scramble away a little more quickly. Each punch was now starting to bring me closer to tears, already having me openly screaming out with each torturous thud - and he could see it. He picked me up to my feet, my body practically limp, and glared at me sternly. Holding me up with one hand and barking at me to stop crying, he slammed more punches into me with his free hand, and each one was no less devastating than the last. I was being brutally beaten, and it was more than I could bear.

The gnarled look of torment in my face was slowly turning into a snarl of determination. I knew I couldn't just sit there and let him beat me to a meat-sack of pulverized bone. My eyes locked on his, and my fists tightened, every muscle in my body soon following suit. Immediately, he picked up on this and sneered, growling "WHAT?! ARE YOU ANGRY?! HUH??" through his teeth. His eyes were on fire with the a display of malice that just couldn't have been false. This was becoming a life or death situation. I felt my legs strengthen beneath me, beginning to stand up straight, slowly, but almost involuntarily. The pain was sequentially residing as the fist continued to pound away. I was getting stronger with each blow, able to sense that each punch would still have left a crater upon the trunk of the enormous tree we were in, yet I was becoming increasingly unable to feel them.

After a few more seconds of the onslaught, I was standing up tall, glaring at him with a scowl. Finally, he stopped punching, glaring back at me, still looking at me like a mortal enemy, but no doubt gauging my stoicism, after such a merciless attack. From what I could tell, he had decided that I must have been successful in my ascension. My torso still burned from all angles, but my entire muscular structure felt tightened and invigorated. The pain was still there, and it was damn intense....but I just didn't care. He told me that I was now ready for battle...

My recollection of the dream skipped ahead, and I was then running and jumping through the towering trees with a female Na'vi. She swung across a gap between branches, on a vine, and I did the same, right behind her. The two of us landed on another branch, this one just barely big enough for us to fit upon. When we landed, I took a sweeping glance down toward the ground - hundreds of yards below us - and I felt my stomach turn. It was the first time that I realized just how high up we really were. I found myself thinking "what the hell am I doing way up here?" and I think this could have eventually led to lucidity. However, all chance of that soon disappeared, when our attention got drawn to the sight of the Colonel's aerial gunships flying in over the landscape, toward our village. What might have been our last run through the trees was now over, and it was time to go to war.

(I woke up here, and the movie was actually just getting to the final battle, practically in sync with the content of my dream, leading me to believe that some of the audio might have been seeping into my dream content, when I was beginning to awaken. I was hungover, and it seemed to take some time for the pain in my stomach to fade. Instead, it seemed to go to my head , which was throbbing. Even some time after all of this, sitting at the computer, I had to hug my stomach, just because it seemed like the faintest - probably just mentally projected - trace of that horrible pain still lingered.

Not the best sleep I've ever had...)

    10. 12/21/2010 thru 12/29/2010 - Fragments

by , 12-30-2010 at 07:48 PM (Oneironaut Zero: Dreamwalker Chronicles)
(My recall has been shit, lately. Really nothing but a few fragments, here and there.)

      12/21/2010

      Fragment

All I remember is some kid drinking from the bottle of vodka that was on my desk.

      12/22/2010
      Fragment

I was on a ship that was being rocked by massive waves. Standing on the deck, holding on for dear life, I was being relentlessly tossed back and forth, while someone looked on, from the shore (or a rock formation or something).

      12/23/2010
      Fragment

I was discussing the Saw series, with my mom. She didn't understand the plot of the movie(s), and I was telling her about Jigsaw, and his twisted sense of "justice," as his reason for doing the things that he did.

      12/24/2010
      Fragment

I was hanging out with J and her ex boyfriend. J and I were really close, and were sitting on the floor, hugging on each other. They were together in the dream, though, and her boyfriend (also a good friend of mine) wasn't to happy about it. He made it a point to get between us and space us out a bit.

      12/26/2010
      Fragment

Something about being on a boat/dock at night with friends...and gun-play. I dunno.

      12/27/2010
      Fragment

I remember being lucid, and looking at my hands to stabilize the dream. The topography of my hands had dark patches on them that were kind of swirling around, slowly, like the blots on Rorshach's mask, in Watchmen. At one point, I sunk my arm into a wall, up to about my elbow, and pulled it back out. I vaguely remember walking across a short body of water, my feet just barely sinking, about an inch or so, beneath the surface. I also vaguely remember having sex, and then standing on a structure, over top of the chick, and trying to recall the events of the dream so that I don't forget when I wake up.

      (But, unfortunately, I forgot. )

      12/28/2010
      Fragment One

All I remember is having a bo staff spar with someone. I believe we were under a set of bleachers, and some kind of event.

      Fragment Two
Todd and I had passes to actually be down on the launch pad, watching the shuttle being readied for launch. There was a set of chairs, for a small audience, set up in the pit, right beneath the boosters, and we were just looking on as the crew made the final preparations.

There was a TV set up, off to our left, which was showing some show about the safety of the workers, showing footage of exactly what these guys do, and how meticulous they are about procedures. It also, however, showed what happens to the shuttle crew while they are in space, and the guidelines they have to follow, up there, as well. I remember a section on oxygen supply, and it showed an astronaut's suit pressurizing, and his head exploding, inside of his helmet. It was pretty graphic; a quick splash of red just popping outward and coating the glass bubble.

After preps were made, we went out to a safe distance, to watch the actual launch. I pulled out my phone, and was video recording the entire walk - from directly beneath the boosters, all the way out to where the rest of the crowd was - not wanting to miss a bit of it.

I vaguely remember watching the launch, but don't really remember any details of it. Later in the dream, though, we had taken a four-wheeler and were riding around areas of the space center that we weren't supposed to be in, being chased by personnel.

      12/29/2010
      Fragment

All I really remember is being with a chick and the two of us having to run away from a pair of UPS(like) trucks, which had chain-guns in the back, and were firing at us. We then went to some house and had sex on the floor.

    11. Fragment for December 16 2010

by , 12-17-2010 at 06:07 AM (Sailing the Noosphere)
I'm hanging out with one of my advisers from my summer internship. He's filming a documentary about global warming, and he walks through the halls of his university as I follow him in a powered wheelchair (having great fun as I do this). He and the film crew then take off for London, and I follow them onto the plane. I realize that I haven't packed anything for the trip and start to freak out.

Recall has been low lately. These dreams were ok but I'll just quickly summarize them.

      Teething Falling Out
Yeah, one of those dreams. I had these weird braces that made my teeth fall out. I also had some metal fixtures at the back of my mouth that I try to remove because they cut my tongue.

      Movie Diss
I am at a bar with some coworkers but they are the ones I don't get along with. One of them is trying to remember the name of a movie. One guy knows the one she is talking about and says it's one of his favorites. Everyone else seems to agree. But I say it was a dumb movie. I think it was Juno.

      Movies in Bed
I meet a high school guy friend at his house. I think it's Thomas. We are going to watch a movie in his room. There are two girls there. One lays down on the bed with Thomas. I lay at the far end of the bed, giving them some polite space. The other girl is Megan. She takes off her pants and lays with me. She has black hair, a black tank top, and black underwear. She's so hot. She cautiously lays next to me, then moves closer. She puts her head on my shoulder and then an arm across my chest. She seems nervous to make this move. I wrap my arm around her and pull her closer to reassure her that I'm okay with it. Then we watch the movie for a bit on a small television.

    13. Disneyland again, and my first named DC who wasn't an RL friend (Night of Nov. 18-19)

by , 12-01-2010 at 06:37 PM (The Lab Notebook)
[This is a catch-up post. These dreams are from the night of November 18-19, 2010.]

Awake, Non-lucid, Lucid, [Commentary made while awake]

I'm in a theater, watching a film that turns out to be really scary and disturbing. The film begins with one Congressman sitting behind his desk in his office, while another is standing in front of his desk, calling him out on his shenanigans. The one behind the desk dies of a heart attack a few seconds after the one standing up finishes ranting. The ranter then starts an investigation of the one who died.

At this point, the film's narrator says, "The more he found, the more he refused to see." The Congressman performing the investigation stays in one place
[I think it may have been the dead one's office, but I'm not positive] for such a long time that he eventually survives by cannibalism. One of the things he finds while investigating is a bag of marijuana, which he goes through, looking for cigarette butts. At the end of the film, there is a message from his family, left in vinyl-cling letters on the window: he got out and is now getting help.

The film ends, and I exit the theater and walk down the long flight of wide steps leading up to it. The theater is located inside Disneyland.
[I've been having dreams featuring bizarre versions of Disneyland since I was a child, but this one really takes bizarre to a new level.] It's a beautiful, sunny afternoon. I walk through Fantasyland and into Toontown; the two share a long, open border with each other, with no transition point or hard line of demarcation between them. Riding on a moving walkway, I go past a turnaround mechanism for the Skyway - the big wheel that keeps the cable with all the buckets attached to it moving and allows the buckets to turn around and go back the other way. It is at ground level. The cable is there, has buckets attached to it, and is moving, but there's no loading/unloading station there, just the turnaround mechanism, all by itself.

I walk past Mickey's house. The path through Toontown dead-ends into a section of the queue for the Roger Rabbit ride. I decide I might as well stay there and get in line, now that I'm there; it was only about 4:00 P.M. the last time I looked at the time, so I have plenty of time to enjoy myself.
[D'oh! Should have RCed.] I get in line, walking through an opening into the enclosed, indoor space where the queue is. I walk past a group of Cast Members who are singing a barbershop-quartet rendition of "Stray Cat Strut." I wait for them to finish, then tell them that I know where I'm supposed to go to get to the back of the line, and I'm not taking cuts in the line. They understand and let me pass. One of the Cast Members lets me get in line in front of him. This puts me in line directly behind Gary Coleman and some other little people. We introduce ourselves to each other politely; he goes first. I realize that I'm dreaming just as it's ending, when it's too late to do anything; I can already feel my real body.

I'm at a high school, in a room that has chairs in it, but no desks (possibly the drama classroom). One DC is talking at great length to a group of other DCs on the subject of her facial reconstruction surgery. I pull up a chair, joining the group, and listen. I introduce myself to the DC who has been talking. As we're shaking hands, she introduces herself to me as Anne-Marie. She says that she's ugly, and I automatically answer, "No, you're not." [She reminds me a little bit of real-life friend Dawn B. from college, now that I think of it.] She has dirty-blond hair in a ponytail, pale skin, and sunken, brown eyes. She has a black eye on one of them. I know nothing about her appearance is her fault, though, and I like people to be happy with themselves, so that's why I told her she wasn't ugly. In reply to my denial that she's ugly, she says, "Oh, are you another furry?" I answer, "No, but I am an anime fan." I know that she's an anime fan, too. We chat a bit more, and the conversation ends with our agreeing to eat lunch together.

At the end of the conversation,
I have another “Oh, yeah, I'm dreaming” moment. The realization comes easily and naturally, the only specific trigger being that I'm in an unfamiliar place. [I had been MILDing again, so when I found myself lucid dreaming, I accepted and realized it readily because it was what I was expecting.] I take a look around. The classroom is irregularly-shaped, high-ceilinged, and sunlit from skylights. Visual clarity is good. I get down on the floor to feel the carpet, which is short, institutional, and gray. I start crawling on the carpet through the room, remarking to myself aloud: “I don't have any energy today. It's my own fault; I should have gone to bed earlier.” My dream body feels just as tired and sluggish as I know my real one does at this early hour of the morning. I've never experienced this in a lucid dream before, so I find it strange, so I comment on it and come up with a logical explanation for it.

“Why am I wearing this heavy backpack, anyway?” I say to myself, because, I realize, I am wearing one. It feels just like the ones I carried in junior high and high school, so it must be full of textbooks. I take it off, one strap at a time, and let it roll off my back and onto the floor. “That's better... a little,” I say. I can feel the absence of its weight, and I feel a little less tired, but not totally back to normal.

There is a full-length mirror on one side of the room. I stand up and go to look at myself in it. My hair is wavy again, and this time, it reaches all the way to my waist. “Oh, cool!” I say. “That's so pretty! I've always wanted it to be like this!”
[While it certainly was pretty, I know very well that actually having hair that long would be really impractical... but, yeah, there evidently is a part of my mind that misses having long hair.] I'm wearing a bright sky-blue T-shirt with pink hearts and gold and silver swirls and sparkles on it, and a long, blue denim wraparound skirt. While looking at my reflection in the mirror, I reach for the outer flap of my skirt with my hands and try to touch it, but I can't feel anything there. When I look down at the skirt itself and try again, though, I can feel it. [That's a pretty cool and interesting difference between dreams and reality, and more (anecdotal) evidence that whatever you concentrate your direct perception on, your mind works harder to create.] I woke up after that.

    14. 11/11 Cruise ship & Weird Movie

      by , 11-17-2010 at 06:54 PM
      Cruise Ship
      Non-lucid

This one is from several nights ago, I just hadn't posted it online. It was pretty strange, and confusing even just after I woke, not to mention nearly a week later... But here we go anyway
We are in some sort of fancy cruise ship. There is red carpeting with gold trim in all the corridors. The walls are stained cherry, and there are gold/brass fancy light fixtures protruding from the walls at regular intervals. To my right is a super old telephone, it's hooked up to a pc so that guests can make calls on the old phone, and still get the experience, even though the technology is outdated. I get the sense that I and several others have been transported through time and find ourselves on this ship.[/INDENT]
Everything gets very vague after this point.
I've got a sense of being forward in time, seeing problems in the world. Friends are dead. Relationships are ruined. We return home and fix the problems that I saw in the future. As a final act, I must go into an abandoned movie theater. I'm trapped in here, but can communicate with the outside world. There is an old man on the outside with a map of the realm I'm trapped in. He sits staring at it, while on the inside, I'm trying to find a way out. After a while, he figures out that it somehow relates to chess, he circles a few spaces on his map with a sharpie, and I play a game of chess with an unknown force, and escape. Hurray!

      -----

      Weird Movie
      Non-lucid

I seem to be watching a movie. I'm not participating at all in this dream.
The dream begins with very cintematic camera angles. It shows the stomach of a woman. Then a hip with a thong being tied around it. Lips with lipstick being applied. Eyes with Eye shadow being applied. Camera zooms out to reveal it was all done by a 14-15 year old girl. I get the sense that this is a whorehouse in Britain. A 20ish boy knocks on the door, and is answered by an overly made-up woman of 45. She tells him that the girl is not ready yet because he's too early, and tells him that he knows that. In effort to keep his business, she calls another girl to come in and 'keep him busy' until the young girl from the beginning is ready.
A 20ish girl enters the room, and begs the older woman 'Nooo, please nooo!' etc. Girl and boy go into a side room. Boy appologizes for what he said to her last time. I get the feeling that it was very terrible for her. She says 'I thought you went back home.'
The boy replies 'I did but when I saw the British space shuttle on the news, I had to come back.'

I wake up. Lol that was wierd.
I reach for my dream journal to enter my dreams. I am still in bed, with the notebook on my lap, pen in my fingers trying to recall my dreams.
I wake up again... Wow, my first FA.
It's funny though, when I wake up for real I can still feel the lasting feeling of the pen between my fingers. I RC to be sure, and sure enough, I'm really awake. Oh well.
    15. Lord of the Rings remake

      by , 11-11-2010 at 08:25 PM
Non-lucid Half lucid Lucid Other notes

Apparently someone had decided to do a remake on the Lord of the Rings movies and I watched a few fragments from those on a computer. The main story was still the same, but their length was much shorter and most of the characters were played by new actors (Although, Elrond seemed to be played by the same actor and I thought it was a bit weird that he would want to do almost the same thing once more...). Actually, some of the characters had even been replaced by others. Instead of Arwen there was a woman with long, red hair. I sat there watching the fragments of those movies while at the same time reflecting over those remakes. I was a bit annoyed and perplexed that so many remakes were made nowadays instead of completely new movies. However, at the same time I thought it was going to be very exciting to watch another interpretation of this story.

A bit later I had actually been transported into the world of those movies together with one or two other persons. However, those people were more in the background. In front of me was a wide, open landscape with a few broad paths. There were a large group of elves and humans, dressed in colorful clothes, marching on the path in the middle. I knew where they were going: To the sea to sail away in ships. At this point I started to become half lucid and realized that I could choose another path instead of following theirs. I told the "background people" who were with me this and then branched off to the right instead. However, this path did not go very far but stopped at a shed with a large wooden wheel and some other stuff outside. I then realized that maybe the main path was more interesting after all. I now became a bit more lucid and looked more closely at the marching elves and humans. I noticed that some of them were dressed in rather ridiculous ways, almost like circus performers. I soared above them now, sank towards them, but then soared higher again. I almost felt as if I was teasing them. When looking more closely at their faces I saw that a few of them looked as if they had a bad attitude. I was annoyed by this and thought that elves in those movies were supposed to look pleasant and serene and have a nicer attitude. I therefore grabbed one of the women closest to me and pressed her against the wall, as if to force her to become nicer and happier. This, however, did not work. Instead she seemed to become afraid and angry and was struggling. I believe I woke up shortly after this.
