    1. dark dreams

by , 12-07-2021 at 08:17 AM (MoSh's DJ: The Best Dream Journal in The Universe.)
All the dreams this week weren't good.

      Jamie 1

Jamie seemed mad at me. Telling me she's never going to talk to me again... I think I always knew that deep down. But one can hope.

      Jamie 2

Some nights later Dreamed I saw her at a bar but she was avoiding me.

      Map

I'm looking at map of where I live. There's a road east and west. South is Lethbridge. Under my town is shaded dark red. above the down is a lighter red. There are words describing each shaded region but I forget what. There is an icon on the east end of town it is a face of a native american with a red bandana. He looks sinister and the dream implies he's cursed this region. (IWL, It has been snowy and icy and I have called in at work too much not wanting to drive these roads. This dream was a day before the snowfall, Felt that the drean predicted this???)

      Don't drive

One one of the days I was going to go to work (but called in anyway) I had a series of dreams of dogs biting me and people fighting me.

      Dream 1

I was in my house and a bunch of dogs that looked like my dog were trying to bite me. I had a razor and cut on of the dogs legs. It yelped and started bleeding everywhere on it's hind leg. Asuka and maybe data were there I asked them for a rage and something to tie it with to stop the bleeding.

      Dream 2

Someone was on the front end of my house with a gun. I was in a garage behind a white van. I got a peek at the intruder and aimed my pistol or something at him. I shot him and it hit.

      Dream 3

I was fighting someone on stairs. It was Gary, a friend from childhood who ignores me now. I Was hitting him with some pole and he stopped trying to fight me after he fell down the stairs. I asked, "Are you done?" He said, "Yes." I asked him "Why don't you talk to us anymore?" He looked shocked. I said, "I don't even do drugs or drink hardly at all." And he still looked shocked and seemed to be considering what I was saying. Then I woke up.
After I woke up I found that the rods that were clear before were snowy and icy again...

      Dark Hogwarts

I was getting off the Hogwarts express with a bunch of children in cloaks. I was young like them. Everything was so dark even with the lights, it was nightime nd I couldn't see much. I saw the Cone shapes of the tops of the Hogwarts towers as I was walking along but coult still barely see them.

Dreams for the mornings of 26th, 27th and 31st of March. 26th and 27th enclosed in spoiler to reduce general length of the DJ entry.

The last few days I have had decent dream recall from morning awakenings but I have felt too tired to make initial notes for them (28th,29th,30th). Sleep has been unusual for this past week, keep getting up too late despite several normal awakening times but might be starting to improve again.

      26th:

      Spoiler for 26th content:

      27th:

      Spoiler for 27th content:

      31st:

I had some sort of pre-sleep half-dream. I was starting to "paint" with just my mind (telekinetically) and was having ideas for a new painting and what I might paint next in my art room.

      Dream:

I was in Sweden. I was with one or both of my Swedish friends and we were in their metro system. The stations were tall and spacious, but what really caught my attention was the shapes of the architectural structure. A lot of long and abstract shapes (just the kind of thing I'd like to build with concrete) and all of the stations we went through were mostly concrete, which I think my friends disliked. I think I liked it despite the lack of colour just because of the shapes.

The stations were very well lit and quite busy. I remember we went through one station on the train and there were small island platforms with crossings between them that went down on the rail level, which seemed to imply a high degree of self-responsibility from people.

Another part of the dream or a different dream, I was trying to get to or from university?

      Dream Fragment:

Something like the cities game I've played recently, but mixed with actually travelling through the city. I was trying to manage some sort of power dams, three of them to be exact, and they were using water from a mountain like a custom map I made in WL that had a dormant volcano lake.

There were some flow issues eventually, especially because the water was getting completely drained by the dams and this disrupted where it wanted to flow; the water from the source started making its own way in opposite directions and this annoyed me.

      Dream Fragment:

In some kind of office. I remember the typical fake ceiling and light fittings. It must have been afternoon; there was a nice and golden light coming in through blinds that covered the windows. The dream focus was on two characters. A stereotypical "madame" and her butler. She wanted to check if she had won some prize with this organisation which did travel tours as rewards? She was obviously naive with her direct interactions with people and the world. Someone representing the organisation felt a bit odd and sinister.

      Notes:
      - The pre-sleep state was interesting because it was like what I used to get as a child, just not as strong. It came on very subtly and on its own.
      - That state's content was a conscious decision, because I quickly understood that I was more creatively receptive at this stage compared to normal thought, just a shame I didn't interrupt it to make any notes about the painting ideas.
      - I was a bit disappointed to not have made notes about the sex dream right after it had happened. In the last few days during the first morning awakenings I have dreams with great recall and think to myself of short word descriptions for the dreams so that I can remember them even if I fall asleep but this technique hasn't worked very much so in conclusion I really need to just write down dreams as soon as I can if I'm likely to fall asleep again.
    3. Walking on Many Roads

by , 01-04-2016 at 07:51 AM (The Dream Magic Experiment)
I was walking towards a place, via roads. Some were unfamiliar. I was going to Rob's place. I was walking all over the place at first, passing by what seemed like the roads surrounding QC Memorial Circle. Then I arrived at a place that looks familiar: the walls of my elementary school. I walked up the road. I went "inside" somehow. I was looking at a lake or seaside area. It was an illusion created by technology. There were a few people there. I was looking for a shade under the tree. I sat beside them without any of us minding it. Rob texted where I was. I told him near/in front of his house. I then wondered whether I should have texted first that I was heading here since they might be elsewhere.
    4. Don't be evil, night flight

      by , 11-06-2014 at 08:09 PM
I'm visiting someone, arriving in the yard behind her house, and I find two men doing yard work. I'm surprised, and when I talk to them, one of them complains about being summoned like this - straight out of bed, early on a Sunday morning. (Summoned in the magical sense of the word - he was asleep in bed, and then he was here being put to work.) I go into the house, calling out, "Babe?" There are a few other workers around, and they give me odd looks for the term babe. It occurs to me that the word may be outdated. Or it may be that the woman I'm meeting looks much older than me now, since her hair's white. You have to keep adjusting the way you address humans as they age - it's a headache to keep track of all this stuff.

I find her and ask her about all this work she's having done around the house, and when we step aside from the workers for a moment I point out to her that summoning people on a weekend is rude, and besides, we're supposed to be demonstrating that we're not cartoonish villains here. What does she think she's doing, summoning up people like this? We are supposed to be reformed, we don't get to keep minions anymore. She protests that her helpers aren't 'minions,' but they most certainly are.

I'm taking a little kid home to her family. Initially I'd tried to just send her home with the click-your-heels-three-times bit, but while we wound up somewhere familiar to her, it wasn't actually her family's house. So I'm flying her back the rest of the way - but the kid was so excited about flying, I gave in and kept flying around instead of just taking her straight home. It's a pleasant night flight - lasted a long time and there were so many beautiful views, I deliberately made an effort to remember all of what I was seeing so I wouldn't forget it when I woke up. But despite that, there's not much to describe - a lot of scenes of beautiful city lights seen from far above, and occasionally diving down low over traffic to amuse the kid. The lucid observer part of me wondered why the dream character part of me stuck to following the roads - I supposed it helped with navigation. At one point while we were diving low, we wound up passing underneath this large overhang at a trolley station, and I found it difficult to gain altitude again when shut in from above, so we landed in the trolley car.
    5. Giselle and the 170-year-old kid

      by , 06-11-2014 at 06:34 PM
I'm with a group of people looking around the ruins of this small castle or fortress. I'm trying to track someone down - I don't expect her to be here, but I know she was here sometime in the past.

Switching to third person view, there's a hidden room in the ruins somewhere below us. There's a kid inside, a little boy, the son of the person I was trying to track down. He's been a kid for 170 years. The spell or curse or whatever it is that keeps him frozen in time also means he can only speak for one day in each year. He's listening to us move around over his head, and thinking about how he's saved that one day of speech so he can give us a message now.

That same boy is walking down a suburban street, and he's spotted and recognized by a young woman in a passing car. She tells the driver to pull over, and he does. Her name's Giselle, and though she's a vampire she's never killed anyone - she's been kept away from people by the man driving the car and his wife, her sort of self-appointed guardians. They feel some kind of personal responsibility for her, but they're very nervous around her. They're looking particularly nervous right now, as she gets out and talks to the kid. She's very friendly, she's delighted to see him, but without really thinking about it, when she gets close enough she bites his throat. She can't help it. As a disembodied observer, I'm thinking that she's going to wind up serving as a sort of adopted mother to the kid, and it'll work out well for both of them as far as that goes. But I'm also thinking that this is a sign that our - her, me, the kid, the kid's mother, some other people - our window of opportunity to become human is closing for this timeline. Once we've missed that opportunity, we'll inevitably wind up dying off one by one - the timeline wrapping up loose ends.
    6. The sea and languages

      by , 03-15-2014 at 12:03 AM
I'm driving through a familiar IRL location, semi-lucid - aware I'm dreaming but still just automatically following the dream storyline. While thinking about this being a dream, I go fully lucid and remember a lucid goal, one that involves traveling to a particular building, so I set out to find it. I'm at a crossroads, and I think to myself, oh look, there's the road that leads to that place! I drive down that road for a while, and the scenery gradually stops resembling IRL.

Eventually the road curves, and rather than turning with it, I drive off the road, directly through a dry yellow bush, although it gives my car no resistance at all. I drive through the forest for a while, without a road, and I pass construction crews - men in hardhats, bulldozers, and a vast number of tree stumps that they've cut down. I begin to have trouble with visuals, things start going black and I worry that I'm waking up, but I'm able to clearly see a tree branch against the sky as I drive up a hill, looking upward, and I keep focusing on that vivid image, wondering why I can see some things and not others.

I exit the forest, away from the construction crews, and am now at the top of some rolling hills covered in green grass. In the distance, I can see a blue building flanked by white pillars, and I decide that must be the place I've been looking for. As I get closer, I see that it seems to be a school - which is not what I'm looking for - but I keep heading for it anyway, figuring it'll work out when I get there. I cross a bridge, and looking down I can see some land covered by a thin layer of water far below, a sort of web-like network of tiny streams. The place I'm looking for has a vague connection with water, so I think of this as promising.

I park in a small parking lot, a good distance away from that building. You have to walk from here, this place is the official entrance. There are a few other people around heading toward that building too. I hear sea birds. Over to my left, the opposite direction from the building, there's a low wall; I walk over to it and look down into a bay. I can smell the sea air. The bay is filled with fish - some of them are on the rocks instead of in the water, but they seem fine with this, and I have the feeling it's a visual trick to allow me to see them clearly. Similarly, there are giant versions of some sea creatures that would normally be much too small to see from this distance. I think of this as something like an aquarium. I can hear triumphant-sounding orchestral music.

I walk back to the entrance that leads to the building. The 'entrance' mostly consists of a large wooden message board with various things posted on it, including a place where people have left written messages about their visit to this place. I look it over briefly and continue on the path towards the building. At the other end of that wooden board, someone's left a backpack behind. As I look at it, I realize I'm waking up.

      (Woke up. Back to sleep.)

There's a man who's conducted a study of the languages in his country, who's so far cataloged over 300 languages and dialects. He's currently walking down a dirt road with a lot of foot traffic. Ahead of him, some people are setting up a kind of gate. A man who he's meeting here arrives through that gate, accompanied by a small escort of soldiers.

Now that they've met up, the soldiers move on ahead, leaving the researcher and this man a little separate. One of the soldiers says something to the man, and he starts to address him as 'my captain' or something similar, a title involving rank, but he catches himself after the 'my' (or the equivalent rather; this wasn't in english). This man isn't his captain (or whatever the rank was) anymore. Both the soldiers and the man are a little sad about that, though none of them show it, but walking together with the researcher rather than with the soldiers sort of rubs it in. He'd served with this group of soldiers for a long time, and he was just recently forced to resign from his post due to something that was revealed about him. It wasn't any action on his part; it was some inherent quality that he had been unaware of, something he thinks of as something like a taint, although as a disembodied observer, I believe it's not actually a bad thing in itself, whatever 'it' is.

Addressing the researcher, he identifies himself as 'language group 246' - that is, although he doesn't expect the researcher to remember him, they've met before, when he'd participated in that researcher's survey of dialects. He takes some food out of a bag - a corn cob sliced into halves - and he offers one to the researcher, who's surprised but accepts. The man is reflecting on the opportunity for conversation with this researcher now, versus with the soldiers he used to command.

    7. An inn, the not-so-old-and-only-possibly-faceless woman who secretly lives in your home, and Hugh

      by , 02-18-2014 at 01:25 AM
There's a kid who's gone down to the docks and started talking to a homeless woman there. He's already seen the events that are about to happen, and he wants be sure he's near her at a certain moment. She's fishing with a stick with a string tied to the end of it. She says to the kid she's "not fishing, just putting out bait."

There's a private party, all women, that's rented out the restaurant at an inn. There's some drama going on and the cook got stressed out and overwhelmed, he took a break in the garden out back and someone else, the former cook, is filling in. He's not human; he's something large, bulbous, vaguely frog-like. At the moment, the human girl acting as a waitress is standing in front of him saying "Um... um... um..." and he suggests what she's trying to say - that the other cook's just about recovered, so it's okay for him to go now - and when she nods gratefully, he takes off his apron and lumbers off. The boss, an elfish creature, walks over to him. In the boss's POV now, I say to him, "You knew staying here would change the way she sees things." That is, the illusions that make the humans see us as human were bound to eventually stop working on her. "Why didn't you say something to her before now?" He sort of grunts.

      (Woke up. Back to sleep.)

There's a little girl who's seen a glimpse of a woman in her house that no one else saw. As a disembodied observer, I'm thinking she reminds me of the faceless old woman who secretly lives in your home, although this one's not particularly old, and she may or may not have a face. I like her. Now the girl's in the bed that she shares with her sister, both of them under the covers, except for her hand. She feels a touch on her hand, snatches it away under the covers, and asks her sister if that was her. The answer is no. The girl peeks out from under the covers and sees that there's no one there. But the moment she puts her head out from under the covers to look around, the rest of the covers are ripped off the bed, and the woman, who was standing by the head of the bed out of sight, says "Finally."

      (Woke up. Back to sleep.)

A man's holding a vial of some kind of virus. He's meant to add a second vial holding some blue liquid to it for some plan that's about to be carried out, but there's something wrong - this isn't the fake that had been prepared, it's the real virus. What happened to the fake? The scene changes briefly to show it back at the lab, where the real virus should be. I switch to the POV of that man with the vial and decide we're going to have to go ahead with the plan, it just means that what we're about to do is less of a bluff than I'd like. I add the blue substance to the vial. Something red like blood forms on the top as the two substances mix.

In a scene I think of as "Five days in," a man is meeting up with someone named Hugh. Hugh's sitting on a dock with blood around his mouth, one arm slung casually over his dog, greets him with "Hey man," and generally is completely relaxed and sees nothing wrong. The man meeting him is bothered by seeing 'immortals so much older than me' losing control.

A fragment involving a city made out of pieces of every road built in the past century.

    8. Only fragments today

      by , 12-15-2013 at 11:40 PM
Just a bit of scenery: I was flying through a forest by a river, with a road running through it. A few of the trees had formed something like natural nests in the places where their trunks divided: wide platforms ringed with thick branches and covered with moss, out of sight of the road and with a good view of the river. They looked like they'd make a nice place to rest, but I was in too much of a hurry to stop.

PSoH setting, following Leon. He puts out messages searching for D. Meets up with fellow 'searchers' - for various things - some of them more useful, or sane, than others. He's sleeping with one of them, and at the moment sitting up in bed next to her, saying "don't look at me."

A boy who leaves something broken with friends or family and is surprised to find they've fixed it when he returns, he hadn't asked them to do that.

A wrong turn leads to a dirt road, and then to a moss-covered graveyard, where I get out to walk. My IRL sister L. and I find ourselves stuck with a tour group.
    10. Dogfights, Criminal Training, and Being Evil Superman

      by , 03-03-2013 at 06:08 PM
I was in a dogfight with some Germans over some islands in the Pacific Ocean, though most of these islands were small and uninhabited, and only consisted of small, ambient buildings. I shot down a few planes, before I got shot down, I ejected, landed in the water, near a few of my teams, and they were all swimming towards a near by island. Once I made it to land, alot of my team were soaking wet, exhausted, some wounded, and others just standing around. I kicked around, until I found a large rock hidden underneath the sand. I began to dig it up, and it turned out to be a large human vertebrae! I dug even deeper, and found another one! Even deeper still, I found the Mandible, and below that was the top portion of the skull. I dug up 4 giant bones, which were seemingly human, and it occurred to me that these were the islands of Lemuria, and this was one of the inhabitants! I was extremely astonished at the discovery, to where I called Miyuki to tell her about my findings! She was blown away as well!

Next, I was with a female criminal in the city at night, learning how to become an efficient killer and thief, avoiding police officers, car jacking, and jumping over fences and other obstacles.

Later, I found myself to be superman, except I was evil, and I was flying around schools, highways, and streets, causing mischief and confusion amongst the on-lookers. I recall flying very very close to cars on a busy roadway, making drivers drop their jaws in awe, and at a point, I caused a traffic jam, and I Stopped in mid-flight, turned to a car, and kicked in gently, and the side crumpled and smoked began coming out from the car. I then decided to really kick it, and it crumpled up, and shot far off to the side, somehow causing all the surrounding cars to crash into them selves, and it was a big violent mess of twisted metal and screaming. I noticed someone trying to stop me, they were also 'super' and I tried flying away, and we ended up having a 'cat and mouse' chase around this town, jumping on roofs and cars and such.
    11. Living for the Memories

      by , 10-02-2012 at 07:47 AM
Here we are again. Back at the same place I thought of. It was raining outside the middle school I was in front of and I was only there to see what else there could be left in the school. I'm not sure what I'm looking for but I've been here before, a couple times. This was the area where I met the first female I ever cried for. Cindy. It seems a little bit dangerous right now, so I I'm deciding I should only drive by and take a look at the school. It was a quick search. Later on, me and my mother appear to be driving in some car somewhere in Las Vegas, I think. When I think of this part, I think of one of the dreams I had before, the dream where my father rammed his bumper in to another car in front of us. So here we are, on the road ready to experience some amazing lifts. So we're driving around this city for a while and all of a sudden, we run in to a big building. I'm not sure what is was. Maybe it was an elevator for cars. This place looked as if it has been abandoned for years. It's going to be hard getting all the way to the top, seeing as there isn't much space for my mother to move the car around. As we ascended, I was having a hard time trying not to be scared. I was always afraid of heights and every second we spent in this car elevator, I sometimes told my mother to be careful. There was one point where we did fall though but it wasn't all bad. This place we were in was too hard to work with. So anyways, here is what happened after we escaped this car elevator. We eventually found an exit that led towards a huge, beautiful scene of clean roads and plains. I've also been in this area before. We're making our way down on a tall hill. The way down was scary for me. Sometimes my mother would slightly fall off the road and nearly kill us. As soon as we made it half way down, we see this dead end where we are forced to take the car down without a road. And while in the air, I told my mom to get the car to fly. We moved down the road below us instead. There were no cars in the area from what I was able to see. After a little more time passed, I appeared someplace else. It was a place right near the home I live in. I spawned right in front of a small shop. There was no one around here. I don't remember hearing anything but my voice. This was when I realized I was dreaming. I walked around the area to check it out. The shop there was locked. I tried finding a way around but couldn't. I found a door though. The door was locked with two lock holes. I had no key, but I was lucid. I pointed my right hand towards the door and waved it at the lock. The locks opened themselves slowly. As soon as the doors open, I got to see what was inside the shop. There was nothing I found interest in. The room was clean, there was a table to the left, and a small backroom in front of the entrance. I did manage to do something while lucid though. I turned over to the road in front of the shop, raised my left hand pointing inside the shop, and yelled, "Quynh, come here!" I waited a few seconds and looked back in to the shop and saw something on the floor. It was a small puppy running around in circles. The dream was fading as I tried to summon her again. My left eye was having a hard time to not blink. A little bit later, I slowly woke up and found my mother opening the bedroom door.

      Unshifting first person perspective

Lots of earlier dreams I don't remember.

Compass directions are abbreviated and in parentheses.
      Location details:
Some places there's snow, and some places there's grass.
I'm standing on an asphalt road of sorts. Behind me (e), it dips down and a little south and becomes a parking lot in front of a recreation center. To the left (s), it becomes a gravel road with a chain-link fence on its right (w) side. On the other side of the fence is a field of some sort of short, green plant. Maybe alfalfa.
In front of me (w), the road goes off into the distance. On its right (n) side is a rise, on which is a cottage. On the left (s) side is a pavilion about 20x20 and 30 feet away. Next to that is another chain-link fence running east to west with a pipeline behind it. Next to that is ANOTHER chain link fence, which meets the one running along the road to my left (s) at the corner of the field.
The Subaru dad drove us here in (apparently) is parked by the pavilion.

I walk over between the two east-to-west fences and notice that the snow around the pipeline is packed down hard by innumerable footprints. Not bootprints, but footprints. This startles me for a minute, yet somehow I know that the footprints come from a boyscout hike. My dad (where did he come from?) walks over to me and say "You know they" and used some term I can't recall to say that the boy scouts hiked in the snow nude to build resistance or something.
      'Whatever' I thought to myself.
We walk/run along the north fence and around the pavilion, and when we get back on the road, it's night. Dad goes over to where he parked the car and can't find it for a minute because it's now buried under a snow drift, even though the road doesn't have a spot of snow on it. As he's brushing it off, RD, a friend from 5th grade, rushes past me, down the hill, and into the rec center. I call to her as she's running, but she can't hear me. Dad comes back over and asks if that was RD, and I confirm that. He wonders (as I do) why she is there (and I didn't do an RC), until she comes back out of the building, walking quickly. I call out to her, and this time she notices me and stops. I ask if I can come with her, and she considers it, but I wake up before she can answer.
