      NON-DREAM DREAM LUCID

      Constant tracing.

      Stuck between infinitely constraining parameters.

      This is my dream.

      Again.

      And again.

And again I trace, searching for a way out, a way to break free, but there is none. I'm confined within myself, and I WON'T FUCKING HAVE IT!

I call death upon my constraints, little points of light, wiped out of existence, one by one until only a void remains in my rampage. But soon it's filled, as millions upon millions of shimmering lights are drawn around me.

I could do it; wipe them all out in a single swipe. . . but what are they? Why did wiping those other specks tear at me the way it did?

      I'll stop. . .

      For now.

non dream - lucid - non lucid

My dreams start getting more vivid again, even though I'm still quite stressed and I don't have enough time to sleep properly.
I didn't believe that my dream recall would improve before I have more free time, but I am very happy that it seems to do so.

I am walking through the city. I become lucid for no apparent reason, I just know that I am dreaming.
For some reason I feel the urge to use some form of dream control.
I look up into the sky, there isn't a single cloud. It is a very nice day.

I point my right hand at the sky and command it to rain with my mind.
It starts raining, even though there are no clouds.
The DC's around me realize what I have done and become pissed.
I don't really care about them and just start dancing in the rain whilst creating background music for the dream.

I am quite impressed how easily I can control the dream, it is so stable.
Some DC's approach me with an angry look on their faces.
      What do they want?

      "Go away."

All DC's around me cease to exist. This is an intriguingly good feeling.
I should probably do something more productive though, even though this is a lot of fun.

      "Excuse me."

      What the hell?
I turn around. There is a women standing in the rain. Didn't I just remove all DC's?

"Hello friend, what brings you into my dreams?"

(I have no idea why I feel the urge to talk like this, but it is not the first time this has happened.)

"I'm sorry, I do not mean to intrude."
      "It's quite alright."
      "I need your help."

I look at her closely. I'd guess that she's in her late 20's, maybe early 30's.
She has natural curly red hair and very dark eyes.
      I approach her with confidence.

"What is it you need help with?"
"There is darkness within me, darkness which I cannot face alone."
"I need help Hyu, I need help facing this darkness."

      "Do we know each other?"
"You do not know me, but I have read many things about you."

I feel the sudden urge for an adventure.

      "Lead the way, friend."

She opens a portal, using the hand flicking trick I have used before.
I find it somewhat impressive, then again, why would she not know?
I form an energy shield around myself and follow her through the portal.
Somehow I just understood that using a shield can prevent some of the portal trouble I have encountered before.

We are in a very big room. It looks absolutely amazing.
The architecture is absolutely blowing my mind, everything is so detailed.
It is a blend of old japenese, victorian but also futuristic design.
The neon-stripe lighting and the heavy usage of glass gives it a bit of a Tron-look but for some reason it blends very well with the older elements.
The windows are very colorful, like in Christian churches, except the drawings are clearly not religious.

I realize I'm getting distracted. I follow this women over a marble path.
There are doors to the left and right of the path, but they don't lead anywhere.
There are no walls or anything, just doors.
I get the impression that I am in the dreams of this women and that she created all of this.

      "This is highly impressive!"
      "Do you like it?"
"Absolutely. Have you created all of this?"
"I have indeed. I'm an architect, I have let my inspiration run wild for a few weeks, and this is what I ended up creating."
"Wow, this is really impressive, so you can create persistent scenes?"
"Yes. If I want to keep a scene I save it behind one of these doors."
      "Wow... I'm speechless."

She seems to be very experienced with dreaming.
      She laughs.

"Says the guy who can step through the fabric of space."
"I'm an architect, this is what I do, it's not really that hard for me."

      "I see..."

The marble path ends before another door, but this one is very different.
All other doors were white stone with beautiful carvings, this one is pitch black.
There are many Japanese seals attached to the door.
I've seen them in manga before.
Some of them look very recent, others slightly older. All the older ones are destroyed.

"This is where I have sealed my nightmares... the darkness."

She sealed them away? I didn't know anything like that was possible.

"I can no longer contain them, I need to face them and destroy them."
"I have no doubt that I will manage to destroy them, but I am too afraid to face them alone."

I was wondering how I could possibly be of help to someone who can do all of this.
But I suppose this makes sense.
I power up and draw a protective energy bubble around us using my phoenix wings.

      "Let's do it."

With a wave of her hand all the seals disappear and the door opens.
There is nothing visible inside, it's just darkness.
But even though I cannot see it, I can feel it, VERY clearly.
Fear emits from this room, just pure fear.
      The women starts shaking.
      I grab her hand.

      "You can do this."
      "Yes... SHOW YOURSELF!"

      The yelling was unexpected.
A ball of pure darkness comes out of the room and hovers in front of us.
She grabs my hand strongly and I reinforce the protective bubble even further.

"BEGONE DARKNESS. I HEREBY CAST YOU AWAY FOR ALL ETERNITY!"

Her voice is very powerful, I can feel it resonating in my body.
She then speaks some sort of incantation in Japanese which I cannot understand.
The darkness catches on purple fire and disintegrates before my eyes.
As the last bit of it disappears, the Door that was housing it turns into ashes.
      How impressive!

The women drops to her knees.

      "Are you alright?"
"Yes, now that the darkness is gone, I truly am."
"Thank you for you support young dreamer."
      "You're welcome."

She summons a small engraved stick of wood and hands it over to me.
It is immensely detailed and very beautiful.

      "A gift for your troubles."
      "Thank you!"
"I am very sorry, but you must leave now."
      "Oh?"
"I don't usually let others into my dreams, please understand."
      "Of course."

To be honest, I don't, but it would be disrespectful to say otherwise.
If these are truly her dreams than she deserves privacy whenever she so desires.
I draw my phoenix wings and prepare to teleport to Teraluna.
I feel that I am no longer welcome in this world, I will not be able to visit it again once I teleport away.

      "Goodbye friend."

I step through the fabric of space and the dream ends.

    4. The Mandala Seals and Sekhmet

by , 05-09-2006 at 10:25 AM (Visions in the Dark)
I was younger in this dream and had shorter hair then I do in waking life. I did not need glasses as my eyesight was perfect. I wore a long robe that was a light brown or dark tan colour. I did not remember the specific reason for having to break the mandala seals, but in the dream I knew it was something I had to do.

I was in some sort of magical place, a fantasy-esque temple of some sort, perhaps. This place had multiple levels and each level had a magical seal that was guarded by a powerful being. Starting at the bottom, I had to fight the guardian of that level to break the seal and only then could I progress to the next level. When the guardian was defeated, its body disappeared into the glowing mandala seal on the marble floor, before flashing brightly and dissolving completely. The path to the next level would appear as a circle of light above where the mandala seal had disappeared. For some reason I would also become more powerful when I defeated the guardian, like I absorbed its physical and magical powers when it died or something.

I do not recall the details of guardians one to four, but I do not think they had any significance. I think I vaguely remember a few of these guardians appearing as character from classic monster movies, but I cannot be sure as my memory of them is fuzzy. All I do remember is defeating them with easy, breaking the seal and moving on to the next level. I breezed through the first four guardians, though I maintained a serious concentration on what I was doing, even as I became more and more powerful.

The fifth guardian was not so easy. I was shocked to discover that it was non other than my patron goddess Sekhmet, in her fiery war goddess form, leonine head and all. She could have easily killed me, being a goddess and all, but she did not. Instead she played with me like any feline does before they consume their prey. Sekhmet bit me several times and tore off chunks of flesh from my body. At one point she tore off my entire right arm. She ate all of the peices of me that she took.

Every time Sekhmet bit me or ripped something off my entire essence; my mind, body and soul, were consumed with such an intense burning that I could think of nothing else but that sensation. I stop short of saying it was painful, because while the sensation engulfed my entire being, it also felt that I was metaphysically connected to everything in the universe when I felt it, if that makes any sense. I did not hate Sekhmet for doing this and it seemed that I loved her more and more, despite the burning, as she slowly consumed me. After she took my right arm, I was willing to surrender myself to her, to be completely consumed, and indeed that is just what I hoped Sekhmet would do.

Instead, something happened that I can not longer remember unfortunately, but I not only regained by lost body parts (and completely healed of all injury) but my regeneration seemed to surprise Sekhmet, who had, for the moment, ceased her attacks. Not surprised as in upset surprised, but more that she was either impressed by it or she just expected it or something. Either way, she just smiled a secret smile and the fight continued.

Again I cannot remember what happened next, but somehow I bested Sekhmet and won the fight. I am not sure if I actually defeated her with my own strength or if she let me win. She disappeared into the mandala on the floor (with another one of those secret and knowing smiles on her face) and I was offically complete my quest. Despite my victory and though it was something I knew I had to do in the dream, I felt absolutely devastated at what I had done, as I felt that I had just killed my patron goddess. I collapsed on the broken seal were Sekhmet has disappeared and laid there and cried.

After a while I reluctantly got up and walked through a gate that had appeared at the far side of the chamber. When I walked through I found myself in an ethereal plane where everything was magical and dreamlike. There were solid objects I could step on, but most things were colourful, transparent and glowing. It seemed to be perpetual night there but the stars shone like every colour of the rainbow. I seemed to be alone there, but I felt as I did when Sekhmet had been biting me: connected to everything in the universe.

I wandered around in that ethereal magical place for some time, but the dream eventually fades.
