    1. A Library Visit and a Long Walk Back

      by , 07-17-2019 at 08:13 AM
Morning of July 17, 2019. Wednesday.

Dream #: 19,203-02. Reading time (optimized): 2 min.

My dream begins with the usual water induction but which transitions into a non-lucid experience of my dream self being incorporeal and hovering above a big public pool that uses advanced technology to simulate ocean life, though only by causing splashes and movement of the water. There is no one around, even though the machinery is active.

Eventually, I am corporeal and seated in a library while subliminally trying to increase my awareness by reading or attempting to read (a habit of instinctual dreaming since childhood). It is more like a classroom, as there are what seem to be school desks in the big room.

Without getting up, I pick up a book on computer technology from an unknown male’s desk that faces mine, but upon riffling through the pages, I see that it is outdated by many years. I am unsure why he had it on his desk, but I put it back without saying anything.

I turn around to see shelves on one wall to my right that feature many packages of unassembled cardboard spaceship pieces that are in transparent plastic wrapping, most related to the “Star Trek” franchise. This rendering stems from subliminal thoughts of vestibular system correlation, the most common dreaming process. As a result of the change in focus, I realize that I have been absent from my home for hours and should probably return.

I walk, seemingly for a long time, though the setting and location are fictitious, yet my immediate new false memories dictate my imaginary journey. I walk through a long hall where there are no other people at first. (I more often fly around at this stage of a dream.) Eventually, I maintain a strange deliberate slow-motion jog that seems perfect and propels me higher from the floor than would be possible in reality. However, an unknown boy (preconscious simulacrum that is usually rendered to be the personified waking process) starts to make fun of my activity. I curse at him relentlessly, and he leaves through what appear to be the French doors of a business.

I am in an unknown neighborhood with many dense bushes and low-hanging branches adjacent to the sidewalk. With instinctual dream control, I indulge in water reinduction (virtual melatonin mediation) to vivify and sustain my dream.

I phase through any overgrown plants when needed as I effortlessly make my progress down the sidewalk. I enjoy the refreshing cooling raindrops on my skin as some of the water additionally streams from the branches above.

I consider where my house is, but the area is fictitious. Despite this, a subliminal dream state awareness creates a false recall that my house is across the street from a store that sells mattresses and bedding. I see the word “sleep” on a big sign.

I approach the corner apartment building where my family supposedly lives. Through the window, I see our youngest daughter get up from a chair and go to another part of the room. I am glad to be back home.

    2. Dreams in the Heat

      by , 11-26-2018 at 11:21 AM
Morning of November 26, 2018. Monday.

      Dreams #: 18,970-4, 18,970-3, and 18,970-2. Reading time: 1 min 45 sec. Readability score: 74.

This entry contains content from three dreams.

It is nighttime. I am living in La Crosse in an unknown part of town. It is freezing outside. I am aware of Marilyn (half-sister on my mother’s side), but I do not recall that she had died in 2014. She appears as she was in the 1960s. There is no factor of my conscious self identity present (other than my subliminal awareness of being asleep as evidenced by putting blankets around me) and no memory of ever having lived in Australia. (The non-lucid dream self, contrary to popular misconception, lacks viable contact with the unconscious mind.)

I am uncertain of the living arrangement, but I am going for a long walk (without knowing the backstory). I make several attempts to wrap two blankets around my winter clothes but cannot cover all of my neck. One is the plaid one familiar to me in real life and which I presently have in my computer room. (I did have it over my shoulders when it was cold.) I go back into the unknown house (though familiar to my dream self) at least once. I can see my breath when I am walking outside.

Although I have one blanket around my shoulders like a cape, I try to wrap the other one over the front of my body with less success.

That dream was caused by being overheated before waking.

In another dream, I see an outer view of the Starship Enterprise (in outer space), looking at it from the front. Soon, I see three Apollo astronauts coming out of a square trapdoor opening at the top of the saucer section, near the front. Their size is far too big to match the scale of the spaceship. Logically, they could not have come from the space inferred. There is only room for them to stand atop the saucer section. I am semi-lucid at this point.

In my final dream, I am feeling too hot, and I am wholly aware of being in the dream state. At this point, I decide to wake.

Trying to wake up is a bit slow. To do this, I absentmindedly become part cat. I have a cat’s tail and paws for hands, but a mostly human body. I try to climb a wall that represents achieving full consciousness, but instead, my legs and arms rapidly move in place with no results. At this point, I am virtually incorporeal but watching my other dream self still trying to climb the wall as part cat, part man in an exaggerated flurry of illusory physical movement, and I wake from here.

    3. Dream Fragments Touching on 3 of my Favorite Media Universes

by , 10-18-2018 at 02:19 AM (The Lab Notebook)
I enter a fancy, beautiful restaurant in one of the nice towers on Coruscant. I round a corner and sit down at a table with Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi, whom I had arranged to meet there for breakfast.

I am approaching the main entrance to Hogwarts, but in order to get to the main door, you have to get through a series of challenges and tasks. They include climbing across a sliding metal puzzle-thing (which someone who was there before me has already aligned so that it can be climbed across easily), and washing some dishes and putting them away neatly (again, this has already been done for me). When you get to the main door, you have to sing the Hogwarts school song to the low doorknob to get it to open. Fortunately, I still remember most of it, and I sing the end part of it. The door opens.

I'm with one of my coworkers, and we are meeting to play a Star Trek RPG. We have to wait for my sister to show up, and I go on a rant about how she can get away with sleeping in late, while I never could when I was a kid.
    4. The Stick, Typical Preconscious Imposition at Window

      by , 09-23-2018 at 08:41 AM
Night of September 22, 2018. Saturday.

Reading time: 1 min 19 sec. Readability score: 66.

I enter a typical sustained “preconscious as intruder” scenario within a dual dream. It is part of an atypical late evening nap. I am aware of where I am in bed, but not lucid.

My youngest son is in the lounge room. An unfamiliar black boy (interconsciousness avatar of this dream) of about twelve is also present to his left, closer to the west window. They are watching television.

An unknown man (preconscious avatar) is standing just outside the window (though I never see him). He is talking continuously. He seems to be bullying everyone in the lounge room as I watch from bed. The curtain covers much of the window, though not all of it. The boys move the curtain down more behind the bureau, and the man makes sarcastic comments about the act. I vaguely expect him to break the window, but there is no violence.

Meanwhile, parts of another dream are unfolding. It is about a stick that ends up in various machines. Someone pulls a stick that was somehow stuck into the face of a DVD player (implied to be about where my wardrobe is, though the setting is ambiguous bilocation). When someone unknown pulls the stick out, the inside of the DVD player seems organic, with the essence of the inside of a human body.

There is talk about the stick causing malfunctions in computers in part of a “Star Trek: Voyager” scenario. Robert Picardo’s head is atop a stack of motherboards in our kitchen and cheerfully looking at Tom Paris, who seems annoyed and puzzled. It seems the motherboards will eventually fuse and come together to form a human body.

The last scene is my dream self trying to coalesce my thinking skills to become more aware, causing me to wake in this case. (I typically use reading text and technology features to augment dream self awareness, but I also used coins to do so in childhood.) Robert Picardo as my emerging consciousness avatar is pretty funny.

    5. Grimm Neelix

      by , 07-28-2018 at 12:41 PM
Night of July 27, 2018. Friday.

Reading time: 1 min 55 sec. Readability score: 66.

My dream starts out with me becoming aware of watching a series of “Grimm” episodes. I am not focused on specific content, mostly indoor character interactions.

The episode I am watching is meant to feature the Eisbiber (“ice beaver”) played by Danny Bruno (as Bud). Over time, it is instead Neelix, played by Ethan Phillips, from “Star Trek: Voyager.” Neelix acts much like the Eisbiber character. He even moves, nods, and shakes like an Eisbiber, but his appearance never changes.

Over time, the images become a “real” studio setting with the actors (rather than the characters they play). I passively watch for a while.

Eventually, I realize the episode is being filmed in the actor David Giuntoli’s house. Over time, there is no one else around. It seems to be late at night. For a moment, I consider that I may not know how to get out, as the layout would be unknown. I stumble around in the dark in what seems to be a kitchen (though it is mostly like our kitchen in real life).

Soon, it is light enough to see. David walks out from a room. He is wearing a white bathrobe. I start to explain to him how I was a tourist whom somehow ended up in his house.

He nods, saying (without any emotion), “Uh-huh. It’s time to go home now.” He turns to go back into his bedroom. I notice two big old spotlights on the floor as I slowly find my way to a doorway. They seem broken.

As bizarre as dreams such as this might sound to a casual reader or someone with no knowledge (such as those who believe in “interpretation” in the conventional sense), I am almost always able to retrace and decode the reactive representation of the rendering.

The last part is a typical RAS modulation with a celebrity as the modulatory avatar (in a role as a detective, one of the more common forms). I felt a sense of the interconsciousness in this case, which a full transition requires, depending on the ultradian rhythm curve. It is a typical “return to bed” representation (in this case, projected rather than unified), which occurs at least once in every sleep cycle. (Understand this? It occurs each sleep cycle. I honestly cannot believe people “interpret” bedroom settings or try to find “meaning” in RAS processes. In rare cases when there is actual meaning, such as health-based prescience, it is still literal, albeit an amalgam in most cases. A dream typically takes place while sleeping in a bedroom and while usually undressed. How can people not understand this?)

The rest is a reactive representation of the waking process. It includes the association with beavers (as in building a dam, which causes water to lower, with water otherwise being the reactive representation of entering sleep). Bud transforms into Neelix as the vestibular system correlation simulacrum. (He travels in space.) The broken spotlights represent that the dream is ending.

    6. Curb Maintenance and Captain Picard’s Stunt

      by , 07-22-2018 at 06:17 AM
Morning of July 22, 2018. Sunday.

Reading time: 1 min 44 sec. Readability score: 76.

I am living in an apartment in an unusual combination of the Loomis Street house and the King Street mansion. It is oriented as the Loomis Street house though implied to be on a corner; probably the southwest corner of Loomis and Gillette Streets. I am on the second floor until the last scene.

An annoying unknown male is present and keeps talking to me and imposing on me when I want to be with Zsuzsanna. He is the preconscious avatar of this dream. Zsuzsanna appears as she was when we first met. At first, I am passive about his presence. Eventually, I begin to swear at him. There is a point where I see a middle drawer of his desk open and close it so that he does not think that I had been snooping in his room, even though I do not know how I ended up here.

Through a window on the north side, I watch events unfolding outside on the ground below. Two men are working on cutting grass along the curb. One man injures his hand on a shrub. Another man will be taking him to the hospital even though it does not seem that bad.

There is another scene where I want to be with Zsuzsanna, but the preconscious comes and starts talking again. I am annoyed and swear at him again. I see what looks like a shelf facing the doorway of the northeast bedroom (of the Loomis Street house). It may be refrigerated. I notice several green cans of V Energy Drink. (None of us ever drank this in real life.)

In the last scene, Zsuzsanna and I are on a bigger version of the Loomis Street porch. Patrick Stewart as Jean-Luc Picard is present. He continues to grin, although he is seemingly not directly aware of us. I consider it may be a publicity stunt. He starts talking about himself and his body. Borg implants may be around his abdomen. The scene becomes bizarre. A big aquarium rises around him. There seem to be cables holding him up about two feet from the bottom of this sudden aquarium. An impossible amount of water sprays from his crotch area, filling the aquarium up to his waist. The water lowers again.

That has to be the most unusual form of water lowering waking symbolism I have ever experienced. On a side note, I did not have to use the bathroom that urgently. My dreams most often render a porch as a reactive representation of the waking space. A porch is my most common buffer between dreaming and waking. Vestibular system correlation projects as Captain Picard, as the emergent consciousness simulacrum.

    7. Non-Lucid Trekking on a Beautiful Planet

      by , 07-01-2018 at 02:16 PM
Morning of July 1, 2018. Sunday.

In the first part of my dream, the induction factor stems from non-lucid nostalgic associations with “Star Trek” comic books. I am in an unfamiliar second-hand bookstore (which I had non-lucidly created), though no one else is present. There are also DVDs present of which apparently contain episodes of “Star Trek” that I have not seen. My dream self is vaguely aware that there are 79 regular episodes but does not remember that I had seen every episode at least a few times. I somehow watch part of one “previously unseen” episode by way of dreaming within my dream, though still implied to be of the same setting and events. It involves activity on the Enterprise bridge.

From here, my dream becomes extraordinarily vivid. I am in the “Star Trek” universe and on another planet at night (at first). Captain Kirk and Dr. McCoy are present, though I have no memory at all of the character Spock. My wife Zsuzsanna and our children are also present in one area, validating that at least a few threads of my conscious self identity are present. There is a small hill (about two feet high at the peak) of minerals of two different colors; blue and yellow. It is near a small building. I let these small glittering stones flow through my fingers and feel very peaceful. I marvel at their essence.

Later, I walk over and look at the incredible beauty of a canyon through a fissure in a high rocky hill, and it now seems suddenly daytime (the usual ambiguous time jumping of the dream state). There is a downward slope giving the impression of a narrow hall of rocky walls (the fissure) before the expanse of the canyon opens up a great distance below and beyond with more mountains on the other side. I ask my youngest daughter if she wants to take a closer look at this beautiful area, but she is wary of how deep the canyon is. However, there is not much danger, because the end of the fissure is not wide enough for someone to walk through. In fact, when I look again, it is narrower than before and it is less likely to allow an accidental fall. There is a cheerful mood.

Later, when my dream is somewhat less vivid and focused more on the fictitious “Star Trek” scenario, Captain Kirk is talking to some aliens that otherwise appear as ordinary people as on Earth. These aliens live in cylinders that rotate in the air several feet above the ground. The objects are only big enough for one person to move around in. The area is like a sparse forest. The aliens seem to think humanity is undeveloped and barbaric, though they still talk to Captain Kirk and Dr. McCoy with a friendly demeanor. The conversation relates to a trade of natural resources.

Captain Kirk explains how the same species would develop differently on a different planet and in a different environment. The alien male in charge of the bartering operation expresses appreciation and says that he understands the concept and thanks Captain Kirk for explaining it to him. (As is often the case, I am aware that my conscious mind and current conscious self identity is creating my dream, though not in the lucid sense or with a viable recall of what a dream is.) My dream fades from here.

There was no discernible preconscious avatar in this dream (despite the celebrity presence and it being the final dream of my sleep cycle) and no subconscious self focus on RAS mediation or modulation. As a result, I returned to sleeping more deeply for an additional two hours even with noise and activity in our home.

Vestibular system correlation did find its way into my dream, though did not fully initiate. The canyon view had the liminal space divider (preconscious bulwark) as the fissure that was not wide enough to step through, so there was no chance of falling (biological waking process). Additionally, the aliens supposedly living in a cylinder slowly spinning above the ground was a precursor of vestibular system association, though my thoughts did not coalesce enough to wake during these typical processes and I had a very soft and slow awakening for today as a result. (I had been more tired than usual prior to my sleep cycle.)

    8. Putting out a Fire Above

      by , 05-19-2018 at 10:58 AM
Morning of January 3, 2017. Tuesday.

In my dream, I am living in an unknown residence. I am only vaguely aware of my family as they are now. I am in a cold indoor environment in the wintertime (even though it is very warm in real life). To my right is a large hot water heater of an unrealistic design and which nearly reaches the ceiling. There is also a furnacelike feature near the top.

I have an object that resembles a circuit board. A few wires are sticking out. By rubbing two wires together I can start a fire and make the room warmer. There is a ramp along the wall. After several attempts to get a fire going, a small fire finally starts. The entire circuit board is soon ablaze. I am enjoying it until I notice a couple of additional flames higher up that may or may not have come from my activity with the circuit board.

There is an unfamiliar young male present at one point. He points out that the hot water tank is now releasing sizzling water. I unplug the hot water tank and the water stops squirting from various areas of the tank, especially near the top.

I grab a white plastic bucket and fill it with water from the faucet. I fling it upwards but see that I will have to climb up to make sure all the flames are doused. When I get to the top near the ceiling I notice the top of the wall opens into another room. It is like an attic with a low ceiling. An older woman (of perhaps sixty) is sitting close to my side and an unknown young girl is sitting on a couch across the room and reading a book. The fire seems to be going out.

I apologize to the unknown female but she does not seem angry or annoyed. Looking down at a table in the implied doorway of this unlikely room (though I think it is some sort of open vent that is not meant to serve as a door), I see a Gold Key “Star Trek” comic book (which is a real-life cover of a comic book I have not had in years). The top of the cover’s image is nearest me so is upside-down. There seem to be a couple of burn marks on it and it also appears mostly in grays.

I say, “Oh, I have this comic book,” and the woman says, “I know, I gave it to you”. This puzzles me at first, but I do not say anything else about the comic book.

“I had my gloves sitting there,” she says, indicating that she had a pair of gloves sitting on the “Star Trek” comic book. She seems to be implying that the fire had burned them up completely. I tell her that it is unlikely as there were only a few small flames which had gone out quickly. I slowly wake while wondering what else to say.

Dream state and waking process autosymbolism fully explained here:

Lucid dreams are not the same as controlled dreams. You can be lucid and not in control of either the dream environment or the dream body. You can direct and modulate the dream without lucidity. Dream control is a separate state than maintaining self-awareness in the dream. Lucid dreaming is not a “skill” (and for me has always been a natural state since earliest memory). Neither is dream control, though it does become fundamental upon understanding dream state autosymbolism and how RAS (reticular activating system) mediation works.

My dynamic and transient subconscious self in non-lucidity, because of isolation from both my unconscious mind and my conscious self, does not usually possess viable memory of waking life or reasoning skills. The rendering of the hot water heater is a thread of the liminal awareness of my physical body being too warm in my real environment, and is rendered to my dream self’s right as I sleep on my left side (my right more liminally aware of the real environment as a result). The cool fictitious environment is a result of a liminal thread of the conscious desire to be cooler. Additionally, water is autosymbolism for the depth and dynamics of sleep.

Liminal dream state awareness is inherent (a liminal realization of being in the dream state, yet without being lucid; a result of synaptic OR gating; my conscious self being aware I am dreaming while my dream self is not) and liminal dream control (the circuit board as autosymbolism for RAS mediation). Synaptic gating is triggered from the liminal awareness that water is sleep and fire is waking (achieving consciousness). However, I non-lucidly sustain and control my dream at this point before the preconscious factor renders a young male to caution me on modulating my dream due to my real-life environment being too warm. (This is a “primitive” but very important biological mechanism, just as the autosymbolic call to wake and use the toilet is). “I unplug the hot water tank”. I moderate my intent of dream state sustainment and reinduction, though I still have a tentative desire to sustain my dream by throwing water from a bucket.

I decide to enter the waking space willingly. I liminally seek out the RAS bulwark and find the liminal space divider (that otherwise separates the dream self identity from the conscious self identity). This is rendered as the unusual opening into what is implied to be an attic and is a form of sustained doorway waking autosymbolism. The attic relates to higher thinking skills (and also has an association with the thalamus in contrast to RAS) that are only viable when awake. RAS personification (as the old woman) is rendered. The usual vestibular system autosymbolism becomes the focus but is rendered in static form as a “Star Trek” comic book cover, which additionally signifies the sustainment of the liminal space transition and the lessening of waking start anticipation (which is typically experienced as the falling sensation of which is solely biological). Additionally, I am in the timeless transpersonal stage where it could be said that the old woman and young girl are both versions of my wife Zsuzsanna on opposite sides of the timeline.

Personified RAS (transforming into this dream’s emergent consciousness factor) talks about her gloves having been on the comic book. (The fire had gone out, as the waking alert factor is no longer needed.) This is subtle autosymbolism of the knowledge of dream state modulation, as hands and gloves represent potential control of the dream state. There is also the implication of the control of vestibular system dynamics in this case as evidenced by the gloves being atop the static flight symbol imagery. Gloves additionally augment the illusion of physicality. (The dream self does not have a real physical body, and a practice that some lucid dreamers utilize is looking at their hands as a “reality check” to see if they look unusual or have the wrong number of fingers.)

    9. “Doll” Oddity and Transformation on a Spaceship

      by , 02-21-2018 at 01:52 PM
Morning of September 9, 1966. Friday.

I am apparently on a spaceship, though there are no others around except for a couple of adult males who are talking near the end of a hall until they go around a corner (a common event in early childhood dreams). As I wander around, not being focused on much of anything, I see what I first think is a baby lying on the floor on its back, though partly covered with a ragged blanket. I soon consider that it is probably a plastic doll that someone dropped, but upon closer look, it is a heavy metallic statue of a man in a combat helmet, though unrealistically rendered somewhat as having a baby’s body proportions.

Later, a young girl with a lion shows me to the “front door” so I can go home. She is carrying the “statue”, which is now a ragged cloth doll with no apparent face, which is smaller than what this oddity had been minutes before. The “front door” turns out to be a semicircular ceiling (somewhat like the essence of a cave rather than a building or spaceship) that first seems to display outer space, though eventually I see the buildings of La Crosse and my apartment building. My dream fades from here.

The night before (September 8, 1966), I had watched the first episode of “Star Trek” ever shown on television; “The Mantrap”; as well as the “Tarzan” episode “Eyes of the Lion”, which came directly before it on the same channel. This “Tarzan” episode (as well as movies like “The Lion” from 1962, which also featured a young girl with an adult male lion) had influenced a number of my dreams later on despite the fact I had confused it in my teenage years with “The Haunted Lighthouse”, an episode of “Lost in Space” that also featured a girl (Penny), a lion, a cave, and “going back home”, though that did not air until October 18, 1967. In the “Tarzan” episode, a young blind girl who lived in a cave used an adult lion as a seeing-eye animal. (I am still wary of lions in some dreams, depending on my level of unconsciousness in relationship to my dream state awareness level, as it is a natural factor of potential RAS modulation as the waking alert factor, and additionally as emergent consciousness coalescence, as a lion can swallow the dream self, though this coalescence factor has been re-symbolized as hugging in some dreams, by way of virtuous circle, as with “Changing the Lion of Coalescence into my Wife Zsuzsanna" from December 3, 2016).

I can easily see the autosymbolism of this dream. The soldier statue was implied as a RAS modulation precursor, as RAS is often aggressive if I subliminally decide that it is not time to wake yet. However, I eventually accepted consciousness reascension and there was no conflict. Learning the nature of the dream state at an early age was very beneficial, as nightmares or even “bad dreams” are extremely rare, other than when biologically premonitory.

This online dream journal entry was reformatted from the source material, abridged, and clarified on Wednesday, 21 February 2018.

    10. Skywatching, with Atypical Distortions

      by , 02-15-2018 at 08:15 AM
Morning of February 15, 2017. Wednesday.

I am with Zsuzsanna in Cubitis. We are mostly watching the nighttime sky and standing near Highway Seventeen at first. The stars are beautiful. There are no other people around.

At one point, there is a large sparse group of what I first take to be stars. It turns out that they are UFOs that move northeasterly across the sky (above the western horizon), almost like equidistant dust motes. As I watch, there is one larger object amidst the others that moves to the front of the group. It is white and glowing. It goes through two transformations; an overhead view of the Starship Enterprise (original design) and a white silhouette of a man (as big as the previous Enterprise image) with his arms out (perpendicular to his body). This feature moves erratically ahead of the group as if moving through an invisible maze, with a comedic sense. There is a typical factor of liminal dream control here, as I am very vaguely aware my expectations are influencing the UFOs somehow, but it is not enough to cause me to question my level of consciousness, even though it relates to my most common form of autosymbolism - vestibular system correlation that is additionally validated by the “body as vehicle” dream state association where the spaceship becomes the figure of a man. (Also, it is curious that I witness both the Enterprise and flying man from the top, which, from my viewpoint, would imply “they” are flying sideways, though this is a result of sleeping on my left side in the same orientation as the flying “man”.)

My dream shifts and I am in my Cubitis bedroom. I still seem to be watching the entire sky, though there is a strange bilocated distortion (as if my view is from indoors and outdoors at the same time - a very common dream state ambiguity caused by the liminal awareness of my physical body being in bed). The stars appear somewhat dim even though there are dense clusters. Ambiguity, caused by a shift in the level of unconsciousness, seems to be that I am looking at cheap wallpaper with a sketchy outer space design on it (which is also a result of liminal space autosymbolism, a wall being the implied barrier between dream self identity and conscious self identity, thus this dream is a unique form of combined autosymbolism of liminal space awareness with vestibular system correlation). The wallpaper at least covers the west area of the room (where there were otherwise large windows) and at least part of the south area.

    11. Bus to Bunk Beds

      by , 12-20-2017 at 06:20 PM
Morning of December 20, 2017. Wednesday.

      Bus to Bunk Beds

I am aware of a double-decker bus in our neighborhood where we presently live. It seems to be afternoon. I see it pass three different times. After it stops for a time on the street and about two houses east of our house, I discover it is mainly now made of the bunk beds of our two youngest sons. I am annoyed because it may take some time and work in getting it back in our house.

A singular vehicle, whether it is a bus, car, airplane, or boat, is typically a form of autosymbolism that stems from the illusory physicality of the dream state. In this case, it actually transitions to the dream state indicator of the bunk beds as further validation of how such autosymbolism forms in REM sleep, almost like a virtual reverse engineering of the dream sequence itself. This is quite common in my dreams and one of the factors that helped me understand dreams at a very early age.

      Lounge Room Enterprise

I am lying on the lounge room floor in the morning when I realize our lounge room “is” the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701 from the original “Star Trek” series). At times, I consider if I am inconveniencing the crew by lying near the captain’s chair (to its right). No one says anything or asks me to move or get up. Additionally, there is not a viable sense of traveling through outer space in this case, though it is not implied to be the television series set either. Looking up at our television, which seems mostly normal, it shows stars and what looks like small curly hairs moving toward the viewer, our television apparently serving as the Enterprise viewscreen.

This was similar to “Helicopter Not Landing Yet” (relative to its specific type of autosymbolism) from Christmas morning of 2016 and a number of other dreams since childhood. In such dreams, the vestibular system correlation associated with the illusory physicality of the dream state transmutes into a house or other building perceived as a vehicle, with various levels of ambiguity (including the essence of bilocation in some cases, which is common in my dreams). This includes dreams such as “Riding in a House Back to Arcadia”, where my Cubitis home travels down the highway as an oversized bus.

      “White Christmas” Not a Trigger

I hear lyrics from “White Christmas” (sitting in the lounge room of our present home, possibly hearing it from a radio or television), but I do not catch this dream state indicator, that is, the phrase “I’m dreaming”. Such dream state indicators rarely trigger lucidity and if anything, keep me relaxed on the passive side of RAS mediation, even though they have occurred throughout every sleep cycle for over 50 years. That is moot though, since I seem to think it is near June rather than December and see it as unusual in that way, as being “unseasonable”.

Along with “Theme Park Drive with Zsuzsanna” and “The Roof Factor”, 5 of 12 regular dreams for this date are presently online. (By “regular”, I mean other than the numerous hypnagogic dreams at the beginning of each sleep cycle, which are typically too many to count or feasibly record.)

    12. A Haunted Night

      A Haunted Night

I had an array of dreams. Some may have been inspired by the creepy video I watched before and went to sleep. I was with someone in several of them, although I’m not sure who. Part of the time I thought I was with my mother, part of the time I thought I was with my brother, and other times I wasn’t quite sure. But here are the dreams.

      Hideaway
There was a house. It seemed a bit bigger than the one in the video but that might’ve been because it wasn’t destroyed. The one in the video had burned, and at least the attic area had completely burned off. This house was intact. When I looked at the house I got a sense there was something there, something malevolent. There were three men there. I’m not sure who they were, I didn’t recognize any of them. They were hiding out from a crime they committed, probably theft. They came to the house, and they had to break in. Although it wasn’t destroyed it did appear that it was boarded up and abandoned. They could also seemed to sense the presence in the house. But they weren’t wary enough to leave. Not long after they went in, one of them came back out and went to their truck. He went into the vehicle and retrieved box. I believe it was a stereo. He took it back into the house. Maybe he thought some music would make the place feel better, but the music device was already infected with malevolent energy and would only make matters worse. I was thinking that I should warn them. I knocked, but no one answered. Soon the owner of the property came, he didn’t seem pleased someone was in it. He knocked at the door to try to get their attention. No one answered the door, and I felt almost certain that it was too late.

      Visitors
I am in my bedroom at my old house. My electronic devices seemed they were somehow inhabited by malevolent forces. My computer was behaving really strangely, and that pissed me off. Then my tablet was changing my data from what I had put into some really cryptic messages. And after that my phone started behaving strangely, too. I was thinking the malevolent energy seemed to be spreading from one device to another, and it was only a matter of time before whatever was infecting it figured out how to spread to other items and even living things. I went out into the backyard. I looked up into the sky where I saw what looked like spaceships. They were flying around in the sky, and there were quite a few of them. They look similar in design, but not identical to, Star Trek starships. I started taking photos with my phone. I had gone ahead and taken my phone with me even though it seemed like it might be corrupted, I didn’t want to leave everything behind. I was worried about losing important data. And it seemed my phone was the least infected. So I started taking photos of the spacecraft. I was still doing that and trying to figure out why they had visited this planet when I woke up.

      On a Roll
This was another dream that was not related to the hunting’s. And this one I was in what seems like a fairly large office or school. I was getting around from place to place somehow by writing on I’ll ball. It was a small ball, about the size of a tennis ball or maybe a little bigger. It was a soft rubber ball. Somehow I would stand on it, and roll along on it. I’m not sure how this could’ve worked, because in a normal reality the ball would’ve simply rolled out from underneath my foot. But in the dream it seemed to work quite well and I moved along at a good rate. I was rolling from office to office or classroom to classroom, I’m not sure which, apparently someone was jealous of my transportation. They left something sharp on the ground to cut my ball open. At that point it went flat. Now when I went to step on it instead of rolling it just went flat. So now I started going from room to room in the school/office and trying to find another ball. I seem to think it was quite imperative that I find another ball to use, I guess the idea of just normally walking was absurd. I did eventually find one. And then it was back to my old way of getting around. Strange.

      Star Trek Lucid

I am at my friend’s house spending the night. I roll over on the air mattress I use when I stay over with my friend and think I have to pee. So I get up and go to the bathroom but forget completely about peeing and I go into the kitchen instead to look for a midnight snack. Something just feels strange. I pinch my nose to do a reality check and I find I can breathe a little, but not much. Am I really dreaming or not pinching hard enough? I go outside and look up at the night sky. I then attempt to fly and I find I can. I am definitely dreaming. So what should I do now? I fly over the neighborhood a bit because I love flying in dreams. I then think I shouldn’t let this dream go to waste, I should do something worthwhile. I focus on Through the Never by Metallica and open a portal, concentrating on going somewhere I am needed. To my surprise, a portal opens right away. I am pleased with that because often times it seems my full lucidity gets in the way of effective dream control.

On the other side of the portal I land on what appears to be the landing platform of a space station. While the station doesn’t look exactly like the ones in Star Trek I see a lot of people in what look like Star Fleet uniforms. I look around and I can see out of the station to where there is a fight going on. I go to the edge of the landing platform and look out on the fighting. I could help if I had my Fire Valkyrie. I hear someone calling to me from behind to get back from the edge. Instead I jump off of the edge, right out into open space. I find I am falling strangely, I pass the force field that keeps the station pressurized, but breathing is no problem. My Fire Valkyrie forms around me and I join the fight. I don’t recognize the attacking ships, but I do recognize the Star Fleet ships. At least the big ones. There are also fighters that are styled like the Star Fleet ships.

I fight to defend the Star Fleet space station for a while, then I hear people saying the Borg are coming, too. I am thinking I will have to change things so these Borg won’t assimilate by force unless they are being attacked. I keep fighting the enemies until the first Borg cube appears. I then fly over closer to the cube so I can get a connection to their main collective through my ship computer. I hack my way in and figure all I really need to change is their primary directive. I don’t want that to be “Assimilate everything.” anymore. I want it to be to survive instead. To exist peacefully in the galaxy, peaceful exploration is fine, and so is self-defense and the defense of others. The only case where assimilation is acceptable is if the subject for some reason agrees to be assimilated or if they are enemies attacking the Borg. No more trying to forcefully assimilate entire races for no reason other than expanding the collective. I go into the code and make these changes and then disconnect. The Borg cube pauses, perhaps to analyze the situation, then it attacks the enemies but not the Star Fleet ships. The Star Fleet people seem to notice this and they do not attack the Borg. I am about to go back to fighting the enemies but I wake up.

    14. Up and Down the Stairs and Skewed Science-Fiction

      by , 06-01-2017 at 12:30 PM
Morning of June 1, 2017. Thursday.

This dream is, in part, a sort of skewed carryover from another recent dream (“In a Science Group with Three Strangers”, from May the 31st, 2017). The same fictional characters appear, two unknown males and an unknown female. (Both the first part of this dream and the previous dream relate directly to studying the dynamics of sleeping and dreaming in real time, though while non-lucid.)

This dream is too distorted to make much sense of. There is something about them hanging around where my mother is sleeping. It is an upstairs area. I remain annoyed at these people throughout this segment. I even kick one of the males so that he slides down the stairs, though he is not fatally injured. I do not go down the stairs myself (which sometimes serves as a lucidity trigger, though otherwise vivifies my dream, as the usage of a staircase in a dream relates directly to shifting one’s level of consciousness while in the dream state, just as it does in certain forms of hypnosis and guided meditation.)

This scene shifts to a completely distorted and skewed continuity combining science-fiction with “real life”. I am in an unknown area and there is some sort of backstory of the world becoming too cold for people to comfortably live.

I know I can help (without being lucid). Floating in the sky about ten feet above the ground is a very large holographic globe of Earth, which, for some reason, I perceive as the “real” Earth. (This of course makes no sense, as how could I be on Earth and also see Earth in the sky?)

Captain Picard (as from “Star Trek: The Next Generation”) in a Runabout, flies out from the holographic but “real” Earth to the right of it (in my perspective) and towards my direction (though there is no direct contact or communication). He seems concerned.

I decide to “fix” everything by waving my right hand and creating heated air currents from a fair distance away from the floating transparent globe, which form in a presumed S-shape, top to bottom. (This is very similar to how I mentally repaint walls in non-lucid dreams). I stand in one spot, hoping that these patterns will correctly cover the whole world to make it warm enough for human survival (even though the globe is not rotating).

It has become cooler here in reality. The holographic Earth comes from Zsuzsanna and I having just watched a couple episodes of “The Librarians” where a large holographic globe is featured. Many of my dreams are directly influenced by television (though probably not the majority) even though I do not watch it that much (certainly not nearly as much as others).

    15. Lost Data

      Lost Data

I am in what appears to be an abandoned house. It is still furnished nicely, but from the layers of dust and cobwebs on everything no one has been in here for quite some time. I have absolutely no idea how I have come to be here, so I start looking around to see if I think of something. I find that I am not there alone. I go into the next room and I see a man sitting on a couch watching a big flat screen television. I am surprised to see that since the dust would indicate no one lives here. The man looks over at me and I immediately think of MoSh, although the idea I am dreaming still does not occur to me. I look at the television and see MoSh is watching Star Trek. Picard is on the screen yelling at Q, who is completely ignoring him. Data is also there and is trying to get either of their attention and everyone is ignoring him. Data finally gets fed up and climbs out of the television. The man watching doesn’t seem surprised by that and continues to watch as Data goes up a flight of stairs. I ask MoSh where he thinks Data is going. MoSh looks over at me and says he probably has to take a leak, that’s all. But Data doesn’t need to take leaks… I get the idea maybe I should follow Data and find out where he is going. I start to head up the stairs, and just as I reach the bottom of the stairs MoSh says to wait for him. He turns off the television and comes over to the stairs.

MoSh goes up the stairs in front of me, as he seems to know the house better than I do. When we reach the top of the stairs there is no sign of Data. There is a short hall with a few more rooms opening off of it. The first one I check is a bathroom, but no sign of Data. MoSh looks in another room, and it’s an office. No sign of Data. I try the next door and this one is a bedroom. No sign of Data. MoSh walks past me into the bedroom and says there is more in here. He opens a closet door and inside the closet I see Data, standing there with his eyes closed and a layer of dust over him that could not possibly have accumulated just since we followed him up. MoSh goes over to Data and does something with a control panel on Data’s back. He closes up the panel and then steps back and looks at Data for a bit. Nothing happens. MoSh says Data is still broken and closes the closet door. Just seconds after he closes the door it opens again and Data steps out. MoSh looks over at Data and says he guesses Data isn’t broken after all. None of it is making much sense to me right now. I am looking around and thinking my brain is strangely foggy when I wake up.
