    1. second movie; on phone with mom; skyscraper and board room; new lease

      Good morning, everybody. The last two dreams definitely came from my last hour in bed.

      I think the third dream is partly influenced by the picture Caden posted on Dreamviews yesterday of the zombies walking into the diner in a big city.

      Dream #1

      I was at a movie theatre. I had finished watching a movie. I was probably going to watch a second movie. I left all my stuff in the theatre and went outside.

      I may have gone to a K-mart in a big shopping center. I may then have gone across the parking lot, to a McDonald's. At some point (after the McDonald's?) I was looking out the front windows of the K-mart. Big flakes of snow were falling and the sky was a heavy grey.

      I went back to the movie theatre. I may have been talking with a female friend of mine right outside the theatre doors, in the dark hallway.

      I then went into the theatre. The lights were on. The theatre was brighter than a theatre would usually be. The floors and seats were all a tan-brown. Everything looked dirty. I was upset that I'd left my stuff among all this filth.

      I picked up my stuff (I had a lot of bags, for some reason) and headed toward the door again. I'd decided I didn't want to stay for the second movie, amid all this garbage.

      (I have some memory somewhere (possibly here, even though it seems out of context) of being at the ticket counter, right at the corner to the long hallway down which were all the doorways to the movie theatres. I was probably standind there thinkng about whether to buy a ticket to the second movie.)

      At the back of the theatre, I sat my stuff down, as if to arrange it properly, put my coat on, etc. As I did, the theatre dimmed to a usual level. The chairs and floor were now a vivid red, almost glowing. I thought, This place looks a lot cleaner when the lights are out.

      At some point I may also have thought of a worker coming in and asking for my ticket to the second movie, which I didn't have. I also thought of how the workers would be disappointed that I wasn't staying for the second movie, after they'd watched my stuff while I'd left it at my seat during the break between movies. I think I had been the only person to leave my stuff.

      Dream #2

      I was on my cell phone, talking to my mom. It was daytime. The sky was clear and blue. I was walking through a small parking lot that was adjacent to another small parking lot for a fast food store that sold tacos.

      My mom was telling me something important that I should do to ensure my health. I said I would do it, but in a half-hearted tone so that we both knew I actually probably wouldn't. My mom sounded patient, but disappointed.

      I looked into the taco restaurant. The walls were all windows. The floors were white tile. Almost everything else was a bright yellow. The store wasn't opened yet. It was empty, and it looked so sparkling-clean and spacious.

      I turned away from the restaurant and walked down a slight slope of parking lots, toward a busy street.

      Dream #3

      I was out with something like a tour group. We were looking at NYC from downtown (from an angle that seems now to have been from the deck of a ferry, out on the water).

      Our tour guide was a tallish, skinny, white man with fuzzy hair down to about his jaw-line, an equally fuzzy mustache, and stubbly cheeks. He probably wore a dingy, white t-shirt.

      The tour guide was pointing our view all the way up to Midtown, to the Empire State Building, which looked kind of small and old. The guide said that in the days when this building was created, people didn't care about the size of the buildings. They just wanted to make places for people to work.

      The tour guide now pointed out some buildings near us, in the financial distritct. Compared to the far-away Empire State Building, they looked huge. The guide now said, "When people built these buildings, size was of the utmost importance. Each new building had to be the tallest."

      The guide now pointed to a building at the top of which were clear windows, revealing an enormous board room. The guide said, "You even started getting features like that, where the people in the taller buildings could look down and gloat at the people in the shorter buildings next to it."

      I seemed to float upward with my view. I was flying among these buildings. I was then suddenly inside a buiding. I was in a huge conference room with a gigantic table. The place was empty and quiet, and the light coming in was gentle.

      There was a balcony somewhere that apparently looked all the way down to the ground floor of the building. It made me dizzy to think of. I was crawling around on my belly, partly because I was too dizzy to stand up, and partly because I had come into work late and didn't want to be noticed.

      I saw, beyond the huge conference table, and probably beyond the balcony, a gigantic window to another huge conference room. The conference room was in another building, but it felt like both buildings were in the same, larger building.

      The huge window was framed in heavy, beautiful wood, fringed with beautiful American Arts-and-Crafts style squares. I was really captivated by the pattern of this window frame. As I concentrated on it, it seemed to change into a different pattern, or to develop a second layer of patterning.

      Dream #4

      I came "back home." "My home" was like a small, suburban house. When I came in, I noticed that there was a set of papers on a chair right by the front door. The papers were my lease.

      I understood that, somehow, my landlord had gotten into the house and put a new copy of the lease renewal in a spot where I'd be sure to see it. Apparently I'd taken too long sending back the first lease renewal he'd sent me.

      As I opened up the lease, I walked around my place. The living room was very small. The whole place was dirty. There were toys and clothes all over the place, and the walls seemed smeared with stuff. I then realized that my family was in town, and that they'd been staying at my place while visiting.

      I knew, before opening the lease, that my landlord had seen all this evidence of other people in my house. I knew he'd just assume the people were living here permanently, and that he'd charge me extra rent to account for the extra people. I hoped I'd be able to convince the landlord of the truth: that there was nobody else staying with me.

      I opened the lease, and, sure enough, the lease was now made out for six people. The rent specified was some unbelieveable amount. I closed the lease and walked around the house, looking at all the stuff my family had left lying around.

      (Note, evening of Dec. 16: Not like it's a big deal, but, regarding the third dream, I should say that in waking life the Empire State Building was not made only with the concern of having a place for people to work.

      The Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building were both in a race to be the tallest building in the world. It was definitely a size and status thing. I'm pretty sure that's common knowledge.

      I'm not exactly sure why the tour guide gave the story about how trying to build tall buildings simply to be taller than other buildings wasn't a motivation for developers until later on.)

    2. 12/6/10 Football "Fun"

      I remember being on a football field. I think they were playing casual football, but then somebody shouted, "Free for all!" I think.
      That's when they started doing hard tackle football. It looked like it hurt. It was weird, because it seemed like I was looking through a camera. And most of them were wearing armor.

      I remember getting with a small group of friends (some boys and a girl maybe) and going over to a little shack. I think this was Matthew's ( a gross kid I know) "hideout" lol. A guy lifted the whole place up and it revealed a little couch maybe.. it looked like part of a slide.

      He said, "Ew! Is that blood?" We looked over to where he was looking. It looked like a mudhole, but the mud was darker and redder. And also someone said, "Ugh!" Yuck.

      Then I was in a little store. I wanted something to eat, so I walked on over to the candy section. There was a ginormous bag of M&M's for 6.99 each. I kept feeling over it to see how much it really was.
      Then I saw the regular bags for only a dollar. So I decided to get one of those.
      The shop was pretty well lighted, and looked like it had a lot of products. I walked over to the cashier and I don't remember saying that I wanted to buy those M&M's.

      Instead she showed me how her little shop worked. She had a mini trinket on her desk (or so it seemed; right when I saw it, everything turned white so it was almost like we were looking from above) and she took the top apart. It showed a little ball shaped roof I think, but nothing else was covered on the shop. So the shop really didn't have a roof. It looked like one of those little fairy shops.

      She took the roof off and told me to put it back on. I said OK. I took the little roof and placed it in the slot back onto the store floor. Then I looked up. She was right. There WAS no roof, only that little part was.

      Good morning, everybody. I remember four dreams from last night.

      Dream #1

      I was in a big airplane, either in the cockpit or near it while its door was open. In the plane were just me, the pilot, and one of my male friends. The sky outside was grey and wet.

      We were taxiing down a runway. We picked up speed, as if we were going to take off. But we weren't getting up enough speed, in my opinion.

      I could see from outside and just above the plane. The runway we were on looked way too short for our plane to get up enough speed to take off.

      We taxied around the runway roads, clockwise, trying to loop back around and hit the long runway again with a little bit of momentum so we could build up enough speed to take off.

      But somehow we ended up (as if we had been travelling counterclockwise) driving the plane outside of the airstrip and onto a strip of road before a large, Victorian-style house. The house was adjacent with the chain-link fence bordering the airport.

      A military man in camouflage stood beside the airplane, talking with the pilot, as if he were just standing beside the window of some bus, not a huge airplane. The military man was older, white, tanned, with shortish, square-cut, white hair.

      The military man said that the town in which this airport was located was being evacuated soon, anyway. Once it was evacuated, nobody would mind us using the public streets as a runway. That way we could easily get up enough speed to take off.

      The military man said, "Heck, maybe even some of the people we evacuate out of the town would like to fly some planes with you!"

      Somebody, maybe I, suggested that we get "some of those little planes" (in my mind's eye I saw cone-shaped planes maybe 3-4 meters long, painted white with red triangles pointing away from the nose). The "little planes" could easily get up enough speed to take off from a small runway like this.

      We drove the plane away. The military man said he'd order some of "those little planes." He may even have started talking with a younger military man about the order.

      It was now night. I stood before the Victorian house, in some little niche set between the wall and the staircase up to the front door. In the niche was an old-style, wooden podium. The podium may have held a big book.

      I was probably here to talk to the military man regarding the little planes. I wasn't trying to speed up the order. I was actually trying to figure out what the planes were, to see if they were the right things to use. But I figured my being here to ask about the planes would make me look impatient, and that I'd get on the military's bad side because of it, if I didn't do things the right way.

      Somebody came out to talk to me. He was a younger soldier, in formal dress, even a hat (which kind of looked like a Nazi hat). He explained a few things to me about the higher-ups' names. I tried to keep it all in mind.

      The man saluted me. I was so surprised that I saluted back, with tears in my eyes (for some reason). Somehow I could see the man reflected in my tears, as if the tears were the surface of sunglasses.

      I was alone again. I turned to the book in a frenzy. I had just forgotten everything the man had told me. The high-up military man's name was Wellinghoff. Or was it Norris? I couldn't remember. And I couldn't remember the correct titles of all the higher-ups, either.

      Dream #2

      I was in a bookstore or library. It had an old feel to it. It was all made of wood. It was open, with a ground level and probably a balcony level running along the walls. The ceilings were very high. The center of the store was mostly small, wide tables with books displayed on the. The walls were lined with shelves.

      I saw, from high up, a couple of my female friends. One of them was aw woman I haven't seen since college. I decided to go say hi to them.

      To get to them I began climbing down a wooden pole about 20cm in diameter. I was climbing down the pole head first for a way. Then I did some weird kind of fllip move so that I was climbing down feet first.

      I ended near some small, tight, spiral staircase, for which this long pole may have served as a support column. The pole seemed to end a couple meters above the ground. I had to jump the rest of the way down. The two women were right nearby.

      I slowly, flexibly reached away from the pole. I relaxedly leapt away from the pole, almost as if I were floating away from it. I landed very softly on my feet.

      Thinking that the women would think I was showing off with all I had just done (I wasn't exactly sure myself how I had done it), I started talking naturally to act like nothing had happened.

      I began fumbling through a couple of books and even something that looked like a mix between a woman's wallet with a tiny mirror on the front. The wallet may have been a dark blue suede, and it may have had some black and white photo of a famous actress or famous work of art on it.

      Dream #3

      I was in a department store. The store looked kind of cheap and run-down. I was now at the counter, getting my stuff rung up. The person ringing me up was a woman, but I don't know if she was older or younger.

      Something went wrong, and the woman needed to wait before she charged me. I decided to walk around the store some more.

      Off to the left of the cash register and a little ways away was a rack of really cheap-looking lingerie. For some reason, I decided to look through it. I took a few items off the rack, as if I were either going to buy them or try them on.

      At some point, I came to the conclusion that I was in a Victoria's Secret.

      I looked down into a plastic tub (?) which had a few stray pairs of panties inside. I figured that if I was buying or trying on the lingerie, I'd also need to try on some panties. So I tried to pick some out.

      I remember one pair of panties that was like a thong, pale yellow, with a cottony back and a sheer, net-like front with flower designs on it. Another pair was like briefs. The material was blue like denim. But it had a weird, scaly look and feel.

      Just to my left was a window wall. Just beyond the wall was another rack of lingerie. A big, tall, black man in a black t-shirt and sunglasses was fingering through the lingerie. I could see that he was also looking for articles of lingerie to try on.

      Dream #4

      I was in "my shower," which was a shower-only stall. It was set into the end of the narrow bathroom.

      Either my shower curtain had broken or I had decided I'd needed to adjust it somehow. I took the curtain off the rod. Then I tried to put it back on.

      I suddenly realized that by taking the curtain off the hook I'd screwed everything up. The curtain was actually just a gigantic plastic bag, like an enormous version of a grocery bag. The bag had been folded around the rod and against the wall (even into holes in the wall?) in so many weird ways that I likely couldn't replicate it.

      I figured I'd do my best and try to re-do things. I was up on the wall, looking down on the shower curtain. I don't know how I was up there -- possibly by holding myself in place by doing the splits and holding each foot against the wall? I began working on the gigantic plastic bag.
    4. Shoplifting

      I ran into a store butt-naked because I needed some clothes. I had no money though either so I had to shoplift. Then I saw my basketball coach there and I was thinking to myself, Shit! If he catches me shoplifting I'm gonna be in trouble. Then I casually walked out of the store and he gave me a weird look.
    5. Embarrassing interview, remodeled lobby

      Good morning, everybody. I remember two dreams from last night. The second dream occurred in a 15-minute space between my waking up to check the time and my actually getting out of bed.

      Dream #1

      I was in a forest or a park. It was a clear, autumn day. I stood with a small group of people who were probably around my age. We were hiding or just standing behind a tall tree like a poplar but with really ropy bark.

      In a leaf-strewn clearing just beyond the tree, a woman was interviewing "the famous artist" Dylan Reed. He was either a poet or a punk rock singer. But he was generally known as a kind of rebel genius.

      The interviewer started asking the man a series of questions based on something I had told her about a friend of mine who was also known as kind of a wild guy. The friend may have been among the group of people standing with me behind the tree.

      I felt embarrassed that the interviewer was posing all these questions in such a way that they were obviously about my friend and they were obviously made to guve the impression that I thought badly about my friend. And, worst of all, they were posed directly to "the famous artist" Dylan Reed, of whom I thought so much!

      The scene of the interview seemed to change from being in the forest or park to being in some kind of department store, possibly near the perfume section. The interview was now over, and the woman had walked away.

      One or two friends and I were now trying to meet Dylan Reed, who was still milling around, all by himself. He seemed to be a tall, good-looking, white man, somewhat well dressed, with hair about down to his jawline. The perfume area was now something like an area displaying things like small luggage and bookbags.

      Dylan Reed and my wild friend were something like the same person. My friends and I got a chance to speak with him. While my friends, in particular a pretty female friend, were speaking with Dylan Reed, I was thinking to myself how to make him understand that I didn't think about him in such a critical way as the interviewer had made it sound.
      I may have been staring at a very nice, navy blue book bag up on a glass shelf. I may have seen it from a low angle, a child's point of view.

      Dream #2

      I walked through a very nice lobby like in a museum or a very big library. There were stone columns and walls, marble floors, and wide, curving staircases. A dim light flowed in from high windows. Some walls or portions of walls may also have been wooden.

      I was particularly interested in a set of columns that looked "Egyptian," with very ornate, almost wood-like, carvings of fruit and tree-textures.

      I was either walking with or meeting up with a woman about my age, possibly my old friend P. She told me, "I've been around this place since the mid-70s. So I've seen it really develop and change through the whole remodeling process." I was pretty impressed.
    6. Deep-sea humans, movie theatre, super mario basketball, bedtime, don't know latin

      Good morning everybody. It's Saturday, so I have some time for side notes. Usually I post my dreams via phone, on my subway ride in to the city.

      I remember five dreams from last night. But I can't remember any of them very well. I've been pounding NyQuil every night, and that really affects my recall -- though it doesn't seem to affect the weirdness of my dreams too much.

      Looking back on these dreams, it seems pretty obvious a lot of the imagery comes from a photo article msn.com had yesterday about huge mansions. A lot of the mansions had movie theatres. And one of the mansions had the "organic shape" of the science lab in the first dream.

      I was lucid for about half a second in the fourth dream. I seldom get a solid lucid dream. Maybe once a year. I don't try. Lucidity, like meditation and OBEs, seems to be bad for my nerves rather than good. I don't know why. I usually let my dream life just take its course.

      Also -- sorry to MoSh for appropriating his avatar into the fifth dream. I think I have found the dream-sharing interactions on this site so interesting here that I made up a DC to dream-share with.


      Dream #1

      I was in a restaurant with my female friend T. The restaurant was nice, dim, with tall tables and chairs, all widely spaced. There were very few people in the restaurant. However, I ended up talking with some guy sitting a few tables away from us.

      The guy and I ended up talking about spiders. I was trying to make some point about how spiders are actually nicer than a lot of people think. I was trying to use some weird etymological (not entomological) argument.

      Eventually I turned to T and asked, "How do you say 'phobia of spiders?'"

      T asked, "In Japanese or French?"

      I said, "In French, of course!" as if the argument had all been based on French etymology.

      T gave me the phrase. But as she did, it was also like I was trying to work through the phrase in my own mind, trying to recall it for myself. As I did so, it was like T was explaining a whole series of things regarding phobias.

      T expanded over my whole field of view. Darkness surrounded her. She was eating some kind of tofu soup. I now focused deeply on one of the cubes of tofu. It seemed to break in the broth. The fragments dissolved and became something like stars in the darkness.

      As this happened, T was explaining the optical, neurological, and muscular processes of a phobia. As she finished her discussion, the stars became directed toward moving out of some kind of wall. I seemed to be moving with the stars. They pushed out through and past the wall. I went with the.

      Outside the wall, I looked back to see that this "wall" had been some kind of half sphere of organic material, like a microscopic picture of a spore. The view of this was in black and white, with all the outlines and ridges of the "spore" in white and all the smooth parts of the spore and the spore's surroundings in black.

      As this was occurring, I heard T say, "You see, we can take any sort of psychological process, such as the phobia of spiders, determine its physical characteristics, even down to the temperature change of the body, and re-engineer an organism through these phenomena. And that is how we've created our first mouse."

      I was now floating deep in the blue waters of a sea. I saw, down at the sea's floor, an organically curved building, which I recognized as a research lab, covered in sand.

      I thought to myself, Why would they have created a mouse? Wouldn't they have created a human from all that human data? But I then realized that you would first have to create small animals, then work your way up to larger animals. I also realized that all of this would have to take place in the depths of the sea, because you'd need the pressure.

      I now saw inside the research lab. I saw inside an office that was unlit. The only light coming into the office was from another room, and from the wall-sized window which showed the blue sea outside.

      A man sat in the office. He was young, tall, strong, tan-skinned, with slightly curly hair that went just below his shoulders and gentle blue-green eyes. He wore a slightly loosed blue-green t-shirt and blue jeans.

      The man was on an old-style, big cell phone with his girlfriend. He was talking about how hard this work was. He sometimes wondered if it was even worth it for him to continue. He also wondered something like whether it was ethical for him to be doing this kind of work.

      But he then told his girlfriend, "But, hey, they're paying me 30 a month! That's right! I mean 30 Gs!"

      I quickly did the calculation and realized this was a lot of money.

      Dream #2

      I was in a stadium-style movie theatre. The movie was playing. The movie theatre was relatively empty. In fact, the only people who were there, I think, were friends of mine. The movie theatre may have been part of something like a hotel or resort, and we all may have been at this resort for some specific lesson or project.

      I saw my friend T down a few rows from me. I went down to her row and started flirting with her. We ended up cuddling, and getting to the point where I had her long skirt pushed up pretty far on her legs. I thought we might even be getting ready to go back to her room.

      But T got up and went somewhere else. I sat watching the movie for a little while. Then I saw an extremely attractive, blonde woman in her mid-20s down a couple of rows from me. I didn't know her, but I went to talk to her. She was very well-groomed, and she wore a pale purple, fuzzy sweater and a long skirt.

      We were talking for a little while. Then she started leaning and nuzzling against me. I thought I probably shouldn't respond so much to her, after I had been messing with T and getting her so excited. But I eventually got so aroused by the woman's advances that I began responding.

      We started getting pretty involved. I thought to myself, All my friends are in the rows behind and above me. They can all see what I'm doing, right after I'd been doing it with T. What will they think? And what if T is still back there?

      The blonde woman and I were now in some store that looked like a dollar store full of Christmas decorations. We were embracing each other fondly and calmly, as if comfortable with the thought of soon being in bed with each other. We stood near a wall-height window in the store. The sunlight was bright and golden-white.

      Suddenly I could sense T coming from some part of the store behind us. I thought, I can't let T see me like this! She'll be so upset! She likes me so much!

      So I took the blonde woman, folded her up (like she was now only three feet tall), and shoved her into a clear-plastic shelf. The shelf was also holding metallic red and gold letter-shaped Christmas streamers wrapped in flat cellophane packaging with cardboard tops.

      I turned back and looked along the aisles. It was a little bit dimmer farther back in the store. I could see T walking up toward me. She was smiling somewhat innocently. When she finally got up to me, I could see that her hair had gotten long and kind of messy.

      Dream #3

      I floated down from the ceiling of a basketball auditorium. I descended over a wide staircase, at the top of which was a wide entranceway. At the bottom of the staircase was the basketball court.

      A group of people walked out from the entranceway as I descended the final slow feet to the stairs. The group was led by a white man. He didn't look real at all. He looked like a cartoon. He was amazingly wide, with unnaturally tanned skin, a plasticky wave of hair, and a frozen grin. He wore a sea-green polo shirt and khaki slacks.

      Behind this white man were five black men, dressed up like the Harlem Globetrotters. They all looked like terribly exaggerated cartoons! One of them even looked like the bottom half of a bowling ball in red and white striped shorts -- with no top half for his body!

      I told myself, This is unreal. I'm dreaming.

      As soon as I realized I was dreaming, everything took on such a tactile clarity that I felt like I was awake. I said to myself, Oh. I guess I just woke up from my dream. No wonder I thought I was dreaming. I told myself, Well, hopefully next time I'll realize I'm dreaming while I'm actually dreaming.

      The basketball players all ran out to the court. I ran out as well. It was like I was supposed to play against all of them. They all ran around me with the ball. I kept almost getting the ball from them. But they would pass it around and keep it away from me.

      At one point, all five basketball players were in a line, tossing the ball back to the next person as I approached the person who had the ball. I was especially frustrated not being able to get the ball from the player who didn't even have a top half to his body!

      The players were now all around me, near the hoop. The were surrounding me. I felt like if I didn't get the ball now, I would lose for sure! Suddenly, a white woman dressed up as Super Mario got the ball from one of the players. She bent over to look into my face (as if I were waist-high -- only a child?) and nodded at me, letting me know she was on my side.

      The Super Mario girl soared up into the air. It looked like she was going to make a slam dunk! The hooped seemed to be 20 feet high. But the girl looked like she was going to make it. But as she approached the hoop, she just threw the ball straight at the net. The ball flew off and rolled away somewhere off the court.

      The Super Mario girl landed. Some of my other teammates gathered around me. (I only came up to their waists, as if I were a child, although this didn't occur to me in the dream.) The Super Mario girl may now have been wearing spring-green overalls and a pink shirt with tiny, little flower designs on it, though she still had the Mario nose and mustache.

      The teammates all explained to me that the Super Mario girl could have made the dunk. But that wasn't the point of this game. I looked at the ground. I didn't want to hear that. I thought, If she could have made the dunk she should have just made it. The basketball players had all frustrated me so much. Somebody should just have dunked on them!

      Dream #4

      I was in a basement of some really fancy hotel or house. The basement was like a nice, den-like room, with warm, orange walls. There were a lot of people here. We were all having some kind of multi-day party or retreat. We were all somewhat rich, and most of us had been friends for a while.

      There were a few groups of us standing in a few different lines to get night-time desserts from a number of different small bars before heading to some late-evening recreation like playing an easy sport or watching a movie.

      I was (or was seeing from the viewpoint of) a white man in his 50s or 60s. I was somewhat tall, strong, with tanned skin. I had grey-white hair, short, and well-combed. I had steel-blue eyes. I wore a blue shirt, possibly navy blue, and pale-khaki or white khaki shorts.

      In front of me was a little boy. He was blonde, very pretty. He seemed to be wearing only a pale blue, long-sleeved, Gap shirt (which is what I wear as a shirt to go to bed) and nothing else. The shirt went down almost to the young boy's knees.

      I and the boy still had a few more people to go before we would get served. The bar we were at looked like it had some kind of tropical theme: it had bamboo shoots for the bar front, and had a roof over it that looked liked thatched palm leaves.

      I seemed to be hugging the boy from behind. The boy finally told me he didn't feel like he wanted to do this, and that he really didn't want to do the late night activity. I understood that the boy just wanted to go to bed.

      I got out of line with the boy and began walking out of the room. As I did so, I said goodbye to a few people, explaining that I was heading out for the night, because the little boy figured it was time to go to bed.

      I noticed how all the other older men were with older women, like they were with their wives. I couldn't figure out why I was with a little boy.

      Dream #5

      I walked into an apartment that was a maybe three or four floors up in its building. The apartment had brick walls, and it looked out over some kind of city scene, like in a slightly busy area of Brooklyn or Manhattan.

      It was late afternoon. The light outside was dim blue. But inside the apartment it was warm and well-lit. The apartment felt cluttered, but nice and comfortable.

      There were other people in the apartment, all friends. It was like we were having a party. Everybody was happy and cheerful. But I also had a sense that we were really here to strategize about something. It was like we were making plans to defend ourselves against some really bad thing that was about to happen or that had already begun happening and was in its early, relatively mild stages.

      The apartment may have been a very large studio, so that the kitchen, the dining room, the living room, and the bedroom, were all really "one room," even though the place was large enough and the space was varied enough so that each diferent place felt like a "different room."

      I walked over to the dining table, near the front windows. The kitchen was just to my right. I looked at a sheet of paper. It was in a different language. I began talking about what was written on the paper.

      One of my friends, a young man all dressed up in fancy garb and a powdered wig, like the picture of Vivaldi in MoSh's avatar on this site, came up to me and asked me if I spoke the language on the sheet of paper.

      "Oh, no," I replied. "I don't speak Latin. I don't speak any language other than English. I mean, I think people are fooled, because I learn songs in other languages, and I sing those songs pretty well. But that's mostly j-pop, and I definitely don't speak Japanese."

      I felt stupid, having to admit that I didn't speak Latin, after I had spoken, apparently with a tone of authority, regarding the language on the sheet. I thought I had acted in a misleading way. So now I tried to make up for it by thinking of a song that I knew in Latin. But all I could think of was Leporello's aria from Mozart's Don Giovanni. And I knew that "wasn't quite" Latin.

      I began to see the words of Leporello's aria handwritten in pencil on a sheet of paper, very watery and blurry.

    7. Escape Underground

      My sister says something about my sleeping habits.

      - I think around this time, there's a view of my dark room.

      Mad, I run away and into a dark underground place. I think mom yells after me, maybe I'm even chased after.

      - Me and my sister find a store there. I see a baby shirt, one with a Dragon Ball Z design on it. I find a bigger one, though still a bit too small. Me and her find similar shirts (different colors) and we hold them side by side, but I don't think she would agree that they were the same.

      - I've picked up this big glass design and am trying to align the bottom part with the stand it was on. I'm being careful, but I still end up dropping it. It's so fragile that it shatters. The person who was watching me heads towards me.

      - I see a security guard by the door has been knocked out. He was trying to help me? He has glass on him, I notice as I head over and pick him up from under the arms to take with me. I enter a new underground place. It's dark, and I don't know my way, but then suddenly I do - a voice in my head? There's a way you can go around and miss anyone coming in. I circle around the people who are after me.

      - Earlier: In the store, a boy was sitting at a table playing this game. As he played, he explained to me that you knock down mini trees using a stick(?) by finding their weak spots, which were brown patches. At first he didn't do very well, but got better as he went along. His dad, sitting across from him, nodded. The boy joked about something - his dad knocking big trees over with an axe or something.

      - Earlier in store: I was worried about money - I only had a few dollars. I offered to get my sister's money when I got mine, but she refused. We weren't getting along in this dream.

      - Jump: At this airport-like place I'm ready to get away, but I pass my sister who's coming up the stairs. She's wearing a purple shirt. I look away to the side as we pass. The scene repeats and we're both putting up our hair as we pass (me to try and change my looks; my hair was down and I was going to braid it).

      She sees me, asks "Think you can get away?". I immediately leap into action by jumping off the platform onto the one below. About here is where I feel deja vu for this place (I think I know which dream it came from). I leap onto the next platform below. This scene reminds me of the scene on the Narada in Star Trek 2009 where Kirk jumps platforms; I did rewatch the movie that night. Also had a Star Trek dream before this one.

      I'm worried about getting away, because now that she's seen me, she must have sent someone after me.
    8. High School, job and babysitting a dog.

      I had a dream that I was back in my old high school.. I was getting lunch and it was odd how I was standing there looking at the food being served and my surroundings. I guess I had lots of odd experiences in that particular high school and I haven't had any high school dreams in a long long time ( from what I can recall..)..
      There was this old woman behind the food bar and she was pointing otu the different foods and I was so determined to just grab a salad but couldn't find any.
      I walk out of the school and see all the students lined up outside I figured they too were either trying to get back in or were waiting for lunch.
      I look across the street and see where I use to live as a child and this strange feeling overwhelms me.. I felt so vulnerable and just didn't want to be there.
      Instead of me walking home I walk to the corner of the block and head up to see if I would see the store I use to go to called the "milky way" ..all of a sudden it starts to get dark and next to the store was an Italian restaurant.. what is odd is from my real memories there never was an Italian restaurant by the store " milky way"..
      So I walk in and there is this tall Italian man smiling holding the door open for me and I look down and see this dog at the end of the leash.. small white dog and he tells me " Here you go bring her back tomorrow.." I replied "okay I will".. I feel good walking with this dog and it is night out..
      I start walking to the direction of home where I use to live as a child.. but this dog makes me feel relaxed and so much better.. weird but I didn't feel alone.
      I get home and the dog is stays with me.. my dad and mom are there I still feel weird because my parents are currently divorced and have been for a long time.. there is much bad blood between them in real life.. so in my dream seeing them two together was weird.. but than again it was a dream lol.
      ..
      Suddenly my dream switches and I am back at the restaurant to get the dog again to go home.. this time the Italian man had a different dog.. looked like a small lassie type dog and it's tail was between it's legs. The guy told me the other dog ( that I had took home ) was in his house and he had that one and wondered if I could take him.. I feel this lump in my throat.. feels like I am going to cry. I told him I would love to but the dog is too small and younger dogs tend to be more active and my neighbors would not be happy about it.. There is another woman standing holding a pile of folders in her arms and she is smiling down at this little dog.
      I am standing there with a book bag and the Italian man starts checking the dog's lower body.. he says " He doesn't seem good at all something is wrong.. " I told him " looks like he ate something he shouldn't have.. young dogs tend to eat whatever is in their path.." The man nodded and told me he will take him back home.. I apologized greatly and start to head up the block back home.. feeling sad wishing the other dog was there with me..

    9. Fight Club T-Shirt

      I was in a store that gave off the same vibe as West 49, a sort of sports apparel store or something. I've never been inside it, but I've passed it quite a few times at the mall. The store was medium in size, and had neat shelves of clothing on the sides of the store, and square-shaped tables of shirts in the middle. There were also racks with various shirts placed all over the store. It was pretty much a t-shirt store, with a few hats and other accessories here and there. There was a men's side and a women's side, but it wasn't divided neatly down the middle; some women's shirts were in the mens', and vice-versa. I was looking in the men's t-shirts (located on the left side of the store) and saw a black shirt on one of the top shelves on the wall. I jumped up a bit to get some height, and pulled it down.

      It was a Fight Club t-shirt: solid black, with the slanted pink "Fight Club" text in the middle; behind this were the white silhouettes of the two main characters, similar to the blu-ray disc cover.

      I held it up and looked at it for a few moments, and put it back on another shelf. I went to the other side of the room. On a shelf at eye level, on the women's side, I saw the same shirt, folded up. It was slimmer and would fit me better; I didn't read the size but instead just left the store with it. I looked back once before taking my first step out of the store and said, "oh, I already paid for it."

      I remember being in a darkly-lit toy store, arranged like the electronics section in a Toy's R Us store. There were tall, thin dark gray shelves with hooks, from which hung trading cards, backpacks, and other paraphernalia. I remember opening a pack of pokemon cards and reading the actual names of pokemon, but while the artwork on the cards were accurate, I've never seen that artwork before in real life. Unfortunately this is all I can remember.

    11. Basement Animals

      Ugh... This was terrible. Usually when I wake up from a nightmare, I just need to do a nose-pinch reality check to know I'm no longer dreaming and relax. But when I woke up from this one, even though I knew I wasn't dreaming, I just couldn't relax and get my heart rate down from the physical effects of the dream.

      I was in a well-lit swim apparel store, minding my own business, looking around at different items. The store was the size of an average kid's bedroom, and had flat, bamboo-like walls and light hardwood flooring. There were racks of different swimsuits and other accessories, and on the wall were suits as well. I was looking up at a grey and blue wetsuit on the wall, a few feet higher than I was tall. I jumped up in a rather slow fashion and got high enough to reach the hook; I floated up there for a few moments as I teased the hook away from the others, then fell back down, landing on my feet.

      I turned around and, without paying, left the store. The door was made of the same type of hardwood as the floor, but a bit darker; when I opened it, I walked into the basement of my house I'm currently living in. It was almost pitch-black, but I could still see the shapes of furniture in the gloom. I turned to the left and saw a door open; the room it led to was casting a pale orange light into the dark basement room, lighting me up. I looked around and nothing was illuminated except for me.

      I turned around and looked at the door again. Standing there in the entranceway, not moving, was a red fox, a bit smaller than fully grown. It was probably around two feet long and only half a foot high, and had a slightly browner coloration than a normal red fox would have. It looked at me in that instant with an almost menacing glare. I started to walk towards it and as I did, I said, "shoo". "Go away". Lines like that.

      Then it bared its teeth and leapt at my left hand, snarling in a frightening, high-pitched sort of way, and started to bite it. I felt pins and needles, numbness, and a bit of pain. I tried to forcefully shake it off, but as I did, I could feel my hand starting to fall off with it. The fox vanished and without looking at my hand, I noticed a small gray kitten sitting in the darkness, now slightly lit up with white light. It snarled and hissed, and leapt at my hand again, tearing it up more.

      I woke up.

    12. Lucid at Work

      Description: There were about three or four dreams throughout the night that I remembered. I used the help of isotunes to attain SP right before going to bed. After I woke up around 12pm I went back to sleep and had a lucid dream where I went into the dream lucid. I also had a false awakening I didn't catch, and had another lucid dream right after where I lost lucidity and just went back to being unconscious and went with the dream. Unfortunately I can't remember my original dreams as I didn't bother to right them down in the middle of the night. Now next time I know.

      Lucid Dream 1: It starts off in the black void, I hear voices about some NBA team. And then there is light and I am standing in my work looking at the front door and seeing 2 people argue about a basketball team, they leave the store. I instantly start losing dream lucidity so I rub my hands together and force myself to walk outside and follow them. I get out there and it is night time, so I throw myself to the ground and hurt myself on the cement to keep myself in the dream. The two people I followed disappeared. I see a street light in the parking lot. I look at a car that is there, I walk up to it and it is the old station wagon my family had back in the day. I see the details of it, and I for some reason need to prove this is a dream so I punch out the driver side window with ease. I turn around wondering what I should do and I black out. I don't think I had full lucidity or full control. I then awoke to a false awakening where I forced myself to go back to sleep and go into another lucid dream.


      Lucid dream 2: As I am lying there I think about a bag of sun chips. The sun chips come into view, all of a sudden I am at Subway restocking the chips. I stand up and spin in a circle rubbing my hands. The dream turns super vivid. I see a girl I work with behind the counter, I say and and she says hi. I walk through the kitchen which has a bed in it. I am behind the counter and she gives me a high five. I see another coworker across the store behind a different counter, it seems I am in a party store. I jump over both counters and she gives me a high five. I walk back into the kitchen towards the bed and am greeted by everybody. At this point I think I lose lucidity, but the dream is still clear. I am trying out the bed, and blackout.

    13. Forest, skiing and voodoo

      Me and some other randoms were in a forest place that was rather cliffy and had some kind of canyon. Some savage-ish kids appeared and started to throw rocks on us. They threw quite big ones so dodging was easy since they threw slow. I tried to throw back some fist-sized rocks but somehow I couldn't throw right in a very dream like manner.

      We started to run away instead along the canyon which was now a forest stream. I ran through it since I had rubber shoes. I stopped and saw a Physarum Polycephalum (lol) on a mossy branch and I thought "Awesome! Too bad I don't have time for this now... :/" and then I kept running.

      After a while we arrived in a place which I can't say if it was outside or inside in a large storage thingy. There was a cliff in there at least. I noticed how the surface of the cliff was loose in a huge chunk. I realised that it could be nice minerals behind it so I bent it over, exposing what was hidden behind. I found like five or six different crystal pieces.

      [Now there was a small memory loss but I think the next section still was a part of the same dream somehow]

      The place we were at was now a skiing place with tall hills you could ski down from outside. Fred was there. Somehow during a short part of this section I had a discussion with kim on irc while the other stuff happened. I don't recall about what. I was wearing skis and I went out to go down one of those hills and I think I did. Don't remember much of it though. Then we all decided that we wanted to buy some food, so we went to a food store. It was snowy outside.

      In the store I was suddenly wearing ice skates. At the checkout, the checkout girl said "Sorry, you aren't allowed to wear those in here" or something. I excused myself and she said that I had to help in the store because of it. She showed me to the shelf were they sold batteries and I was instructed to tidy it up. I said that I know how it is done because I had worked in a store before. I started to line up the batteries nicely on the shelf and removed some empty boxes. Then I saw some half-rotten fries with dressing in the corner of the shelf. I thought "wtf" and started to take pieces of it and throw it away in a garbage can. Under the fries there was salad and some burger.

      When I had dug below the fast food, there was some other stuff. I only recall that there was a red deformed potato and a piece of ginger both wrapped in plastic. I continued throwing the stuff away until I saw some human teeth below the stuff. I was disgusted by it and noticed how the teeth was stuck in some strings in a circle or something and in the middle of the circle was two voodoo dolls that someone had hid there below all that stuff.

      I was a bit creeped out by it and I didn't want to touch them. The other people who I was with poked them in the face and they were slimy. We discussed a while about them. Then strange things started to happen because they touched them. Some strange nick joined the irc and posted some threatening stuff related to the dolls. I don't know if much else strange than that happened, lol but everything had a "strange things are happening" feeling to it. Fred wanted to go home so he went to get the car (he can't drive irl). I told him I wanted to get a ride home. When following his progress on a map we could see that he got lost.

      I think I woke up at this point. It was not a nightmare, but it had a creepy feel to it.

      I was in a busy chocolate store that looked like the picture below, but it had more nooks and crannies.


      Outside the store I could see a strip of average-looking mall, but I didn't go outside. After all, I was looking at different packages of chocolates. I looked for a few moments and then saw a package of milk chocolate Lindt truffles. I picked it up and began to look for a cash register. I couldn't find one, so I decided to shoplift. There was an exit on the left-hand wall of the store; it was a square archway that led into another room; more specifically, the store (or whatever it was) beside it.

      I walked through the door, briefly looking behind me as I did, and walked right into a swimming pool area with small tiles on the floor and a few people swimming around. Standing in the doorway, I then opened the package and proceeded to unwrap the very realistic chocolates. The plastic wrapping was twisted at the ends of each chocolate ball, just like in real life. I popped one into my mouth and ate it, then I took another one. This one was pretty much melted, so when I pressed on it just a little to unwrap it, it broke in half and chocolate spilled out onto the floor.

      I then heard shouting behind me. "Get back here!" I heard a man say in a rather deep voice, and this was the signal to get out now. I saw a door on the other side of the room, with one square window on either side. On the other side of the windows were trees and sky, so I knew it was the exit to the building. I briskly walked around the pool, continuously looking behind me, and then got to the door. I turned the shiny brass doorknob and when I pulled on the door, it caught, as if a chain was stopping it from opening on the other side.

      I turned around as the man, dressed in a suit, walked closer and closer...

    15. Candy Store

      I dug up this entry from a slightly older dream journal.

      I was inside a Candy Store; this place was around the size of a cell phone store and had blue walls, as well as solid and pale confetti-colored flooring. Lining the walls were clear jellybean candy dispensers with different colored jellybeans, and there were a few cylindrical rotating shelves with pull-out drawers spaced out in different areas of the store. The counter with the cashier was in the back of the store in the middle, and it too was painted blue with a confetti-colored countertop.

      My thirteen-year old sister walked up from behind me and said, "I'll be like five minutes in here." I knew I would be taking slightly longer, but I nodded and went to shop. I browsed at a bunch of unidentifiable candy in plastic bags and then went to the jellybean section and looked at the dispensers. I didn't end up buying anything, but then my sister met up with me and she was holding a large, opaque white bag that said "5" on it. I guessed that the five meant pounds.

      She went to the cashier to pay. She was a woman in her forties with curly ginger hair, and was wearing one of those little hats like they give you at Krispy Kreme.

      Except it didn't have anything on it whatsoever, it was just plain white. My sister gave some coins to the woman without even giving them the bag to examine, and then she handed her a survey. My sister looked at me, raising an eyebrow, and then at the survey again. "What is that?" I asked her.

      "A survey about dogs."

      "Why?" I asked her, completely dumbfounded. My gaze then flicked to the cashier who obviously heard my tone of voice and she said, "it's compulsory if you want to buy candy from this store. Take it or leave it, and the candy."

      "This is bull," I spat, immediately frustrated, and took my sister gently by the arm. "We'll get candy somewhere else," I told her. I was still fuming as the two of us stormed out of the place.
