    1. The Menthol Arcade

      by , 02-09-2013 at 04:31 PM
This was a short but pleasant lucid after drinking a 3-bag brew of peppermint tea during my WBTB. I woke up for the WBTB on the late side (4:45 or so), so I didn't stay awake for very long. Probably because of this, my waking life memories were a little tough to access.

      Lucid #64: The Menthol Arcade

I'm in a dark arcade playing Street Fighter II with my friend SC. We're talking smack and he says, "I bet you can't win a sumo wrestling match." I say something really brilliant like, "Bring it!" and the game starts.

I'm on the righthand side and both of us are playing as E. Honda. I look down at the game's controls and I'm disappointed to see that it has no joystick and each side has only 3 buttons instead of the usual 6. The weirdness of this sticks in my mind and after thinking it over,
      I realize that I'm dreaming.

The game starts and neither of us moves at first. I jam on the buttons a bit and my player starts E. Honda's signature "Hundred Hand Slap". I will him to start drifting to the left and he slides along for a few seconds.

Before I can land a shot, the screen goes black. I look over to my left and SC has vanished. I'm completely alone and all of the machines are off now. I turn away and start to explore the rest of the arcade.

The arcade's divided into two sides, and the side that I'm on is arranged around an enormous air hockey table that's at least 4-5 times larger than a normal one. I wonder what someone would do if the puck got stuck in the middle of that huge thing. On the opposite side of the room I see an emergency exit. I think about exploring the other side of the arcade but it occurs to me that I probably have goals I want to work on, and outside seems like a better bet.

I keep verbally reminding myself that this is a dream until I reach the exit. I push on the crash bar, the door swings open, and I'm staring out into a milky gray void. I'm nervous about walking out there but I feel like there's no going back now.

There's a bit of a drop as I step into the void, but my feet land on something solid a couple of feet down. I feel like I'm wearing my work shoes. The scene goes totally dark, but I'm ready to DEILD. I start swinging my arm around, imagining that I have a gladius. Nothing happens for a few seconds, but I still feel relaxed. I start swinging harder, throwing in a few man-grunts for emphasis.

Some sort of wind sweeps up from below and picks me up off of my feet. The wind starts to swirl and soon turns into a cyclone. I can feel myself spinning and spinning, and I think that this is great -- LaBerge suggests spinning as a way to change scenes. I'm confident it will work, and sure enough I see a colorful, spinning scene start to emerge.

The wind dies down, the spinning slows, and I'm gently set down on a vast, jeweled mosaic that stretches in every direction as far as I can see. There's a slightly reddish glow on the horizon and what looks like a set of distant mountains. I'm awestruck by what I see, but it's just a few seconds
      before the dream ends.
    2. I am Ken Masters

by , 12-30-2012 at 04:13 PM (Tales from the sun chaser.)
Don't know how or why, but I'm Ken from the Street Fighter series, and I'm at this huge convention with tons of people. I think I remember seeing some old school mates, and I tried to tell one that I had a crush on them. Anyway, I get into this conversation with a guy in a mech suit about fighting games. He's trying to convince me that there should be a robot in Street Fighter, and they're the future of all fighting characters.

I told him that he should hold his horses and take it one step at a time. "Sentinel is already in the versus series, I'm sure you'll get your own game one day, but right now the only thing people want to see is humans fighting". For some reason this pissed the guy off, and he was saying that he could beat us any day. After a while of going back and fourth the guy took a swing at me. I ducked punched him in the stomach and ran. I knew he was going to catch up to me, and I saw Ryu down the hallway. "Bro, use your shinku hadoken!" was the first thing that came out of my mouth when I passed him. Ryu hit him with a huge fireball. He hit the ground right next to me, and started getting up slowly. He told me how the fire ball didn't have much effect on him, and I quickly reminded him that I knew the same move. I hit him in the face with everything I had and it knocked him out.

I headed off, and ended up talking to some people
    3. Never be Auron

by , 11-06-2012 at 01:16 PM (Tales from the sun chaser.)
I'm at some sort of huge comic/videogame convention, but it's different....like real. Scenery changes to a fantasy land, I see people sitting and drinking at a tavern, and it triggers lucidity. Duals are going on both in real life and on video games. I slowly transformed into Auron with my residual clothing technique. People who saw me were super intimidated. Not bad. I continued walking around looking for a challenge, and saw this room littered with street fighter joystick boxes. All of them had Dalhsim, and I couldn't help but laugh at everyone who had to buy one at the last minute. There was this guy there. Dressed in all black leather, black hair, skin was pale. He had a smug look on him, and he was waiting for me to attack. I lunged forward, and he blocked it with his hands, and threw me back. Then he pulled out a sword and gun and started shooting at me. I dodged the bullets, but was caught off guard that this guy was using real weapons. Maybe my weapons were real...I'm not sure...control is fading. This guy is just owning me with ease. He uses a spell that threw a swarm of killer clams at my ankle, and they munch away at my flesh while heading up it. I knock them off with my sword, but all they do is disappear and reappear back on my ankle. The DC is laughing at me saying I can't do anything..... Oh Hi Irken I'm in a random small class room, and I just rolled up a fat blunt. It's like the size of a hotdog, but it's falling a part. I take a hit, and realize I'm going to need to doctor it up. I head to the sink and put some water on my hands and try to reshape everything back in place (I really don't think I would have had enough spit to work it right) and Irken walks in. He wanted to smoke, and he bought his own. I told him I had to finish putting this crap together, and we'd hit it. Some other random DC comes in, so I put it out, and hid it. Meanwhile he was talking about some math class that he had, and I asked him "was it calculus?" He said yes, so I pulled out my book and asked him if that's the one needed....he did, so I decided to sell it to him for only 20 bucks. I knew it was at least resalable for 80 but it's all good. Then my bro comes in with a huge box that has all these games in it. I don't know if they're demo's or what but I ask him "why does gamestop always hook you up". He then tells me about how much he spends there on average. I don't know what to do with the stuff, because I only have old school systems.
    4. Hadouken!:A Very Short Lucid

      by , 04-09-2012 at 03:53 PM
      Dream
It was night and I was in my house. I did an RC (nose pinch) and went Lucid. I went outside and someone I know was chasing me, he was acting like a Trandoshan I started to run but he was really rabid. I stop and turned around "HADOUKEN!" I couldn't see the ball but it worked as the guy got thrown into a wall near the front of a house. He got back up I charged at him "SHORYUKEN!".

      *SHORYUKEN FAIL*

I saw his stomach but he was fine shortly after the dream faded.
    5. Low-Recall Lucid

      Lucid Fragment
I became lucid after more or less chaining some dreams together. I did a hadouken and a shoryuken on some guy. I remember the hadouken blowing him away but I don't think I connected with the shoryuken that well. Or maybe I did. This was a dream goal so not bad.

      Dream
I'm with two people, one about the same age as me and the other is a small child(I think they were a girl). I was in the future the landscape was almost Tron-like a definite mix between Legacy and the original.

I'm Batman Beyond aswell, but I'm trying to keep undercover. I save the girl from some woman and her crony, she was old and her henchman was a big brute. Like Ma Mayhem from the Batman Beyond episode "The Egg Baby".

At one point I nearly blew my cover because of the way Batman punched and I said that "I've seen that before". My other friend there said "How? He hasn't been here before."
To which I replied "I've seen it on the show" demolishing the 4th wall.

I ran with the two people to a squash court and then finished the lady and her guy. I think, probably anyway.
I also remember seeing Terry McGuiness doing poses in his Batman costume.
    6. Street fighter fragment

      A fragment:
I was in gamestop and the guy behind the counter gave me a free copy of street fighter for the 3DS (I haven't even played a street fighter game before).
