    1. WBTB Success! Night of Saturday 4/8/23

      by , 04-09-2023 at 05:22 PM (Dreamlog)
      Pre-WBTB
      No recall.

      Post-WBTB
I'm up after about 6 hours, not ideal but timing restraints around the Easter holiday are constraining me. I've gotten up and taken my usual supplements. I'm now incubating what lucid dream I'd like to have. Shooting for these goals:

      1. Visit the Elven Forest. Doesn't have to be super specific, just want to go somewhere wildly different than my usual dreams.
      2. Apply meditation practice results. I want to sense my body to stabilize, and test out my new focus capabilities from listening practice in waking life.
      3. Meet a dream guide. This entails actually confirming with the DC that they are my guide, not just assuming as much.
      4. Eat cake or any delicious food. Currently dieting, so would be nice to have good food with zero consequences.

I'm imagining that I can go to the forest through a door like I tried previously, or try to go there directly from the WILD transition. From there, I can try to find the guide and ground myself. Then food! Back to bed, here we go.

I lie down and eventually feel the vibrations. I have a very short thought that getting flash banged and then shot during war would suck, and subsequently hope that I don't dream about that. Luckily, I didn't. I did realize though that going to Narnia through a wardrobe would be a great way to fulfil the goals I laid out here. Find a wardrobe, find the winter scene on the other side (Elven Forest), find Mr. Tumnus (Dream Guide), and have food with him (Delicious Food). I decided that this was what I would do. I don't get to WILD this time, but I eventually doze off.

Not Quite Narnia, But Not Bad Either
I wake up in my bed, but do a nose RC out of habit. I can breathe! I'm lucid. I immediately remember that I want to stabilize, so I think about feeling my body from the feet up and say "feeling my feet, feeling my legs..." all the way up to my head. I'm rubbing my hands together too. I have several false awakenings that start this way, so I suppose it didn't stabilize very well. One time (or two), I wake up in my Grandma M's old place from my childhood. I'm not 100% lucid here, but I do remember my old Doberman, Champ, and I false-awoke with my head resting on him. He seemed big and strong. He was a good boy.

I have another false awakening where my living room looks very different. It reminds me of my girlfriend S' grandpa's house. In the sitting room specifically. I see my dad, except he has black hair instead of the usual grey. His hair is still pretty short though. I'm exploring around this modified version of my house, one area looks like Grandma P's old dining room from the apartment, when I remembered that I want to go to Narnia. Maybe that meditation practice is helping me remember? I recall that my dad was standing in front of a wardrobe. I get excited. I can use that to get to Narnia! Maybe my dream put it there for that purpose, or it was coincidence. Convenient regardless.

I open the wardrobe, and discover that it has a bunch of drawers inside. Not a walk-in. Less convenient. Turns out my brain is a troll. I close it and start to look for other doorways. I go down a hall that isn't normally in my house and I see my girlfriend S sitting in bed at the end of it. She's looking pretty hot, and seems to be beckoning to me, but I am on a mission! I regret this choice a bit now. I see a bathroom through an open door in the hallway, and then another door next to it. I open it. It's a walk-in closet with a bunch of clothes in it. Perfect. I work myself into the clothes and start pushing. Just like Lucy in "The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe". This is taking awhile and the clothes are pretty tough to push. I start to worry that I'm just going to wake up before I emerge anywhere, and just then I finally push through.

Snowy...ski mountain. Dang it. My brain really doesn't like to give me fantasy scenes, it seems. This time there isn't an obvious doorway where I came from, like the sewer pipe door from the last lucid. I seem to have just emerged out of thin air. So it isn't trivial to try for Narnia again. Oh well. I decide to explore this new environment. It is still cool! Just not what I'm after. Notably, I don't feel cold despite the snow and the wind. It seems like a little German-themed town, sort of like Frankenmuth, with a main street lined with shops and tourists. I start walking up a cobblestone path that leads up a hill. I'm still stabilizing using my body technique, and I reflect:

"Well, at least I sorta got one of my goals..."

Wait. Goals. Plural. There were others. What were the others?! I strain my brain a bit and then callout to the universe:

"DREAM GUIDE!!! Where are you?! I want to meet you!?"

I look around and nothing happens and then:

      "Yo, wassup?"

A slightly overweight (but not unattractive) woman around my age saunters into view from over my shoulder. I recognize her as a version of the pink-haired girl from a few lucids ago. I was right. She WAS the dream guide. Her hair was a more natural color now, but I can't remember which. Also, she's still wearing the skimpy-leather outfit she was before, despite the fact that we are out in the snow. I guess that checks out, with my brain.

"Hi! What's your name?" I say.

"Hm..." she looks off into the distance and doesn't answer me. I ask again.

"..." she doesn't seem to want to answer, or understand the question.

"I'm going to call you Leather," I say.

      "Hm...sure I guess," she replies.

Then, of course, my brain goes down the typical path.

      Spoiler for Spicy Content:

I wake up fully shortly after. After doing a series of RC's to verify, I rush to record this dream before it fades.

      Notes
Pretty happy with this! I would've liked to try some food, or otherwise do more exciting things in the lucid. I feel like I didn't time the WBTB quite right, but for a limited time-schedule that's alright. I'm super happy to have confirmed a dream guide! Although I'll have to verify a name...I'm not sure 'Leather' makes the most sense as a name. Probably wasn't the most lucid at that moment. Looking forward to adding some AI images to this post. Been practicing it and getting familiar with new tools so we'll see what I can come up with. I'm thinking at least the snowy mountain deserves so cool art. Maybe Leather can get a portrait? Don't want to be too much of a goon with that though. Just like, out of respect y'know. She's my dream guide after all.

    2. 5 Feb: Tv studio, kids drown, leaving London

      by , 02-05-2019 at 09:31 PM (Lucid-schizo-dreamer)
non-dream dream semi-lucid lucid false awakening

Visiting a tv studio, a lady friend shows me old cameras and other old equipment, shows me a wardrobe she made, very basic stuff, she explains why they don't use normal clothes.

      I am coughing blood.

At the beach, some kids from somewhere go trough an area of the ocean shore that is full of rocks and get trapped and are drowning. A media circus installs. I wanna go away,

I am with my friend Zilla in the 40s, we are taking the last cruise ship leaving London just before the war hits. People are very emotional saying bye to us and vice versa.
    3. Searching for a Letter that Implies a Medical Concern

      by , 09-14-2016 at 01:19 PM
Morning of September 14, 2016. Wednesday.

I am at our present address where we live now, though eventually the layout becomes larger and quite different. I am looking for a letter that I had somehow misplaced within moments of reading it. Not only that, I recall at least four other versions of the letter that we had received over the last week or two. It relates to our oldest daughter having some sort of unusual medical concern regarding her back (which is relevant to Zsuzsanna’s younger half-sister, not any of our children) and perhaps needing to stay at a children’s hospice (even though she is an older teenager). I am annoyed, because the issue does not seem real and that it seems more like an incompetent intrusion by the government.

I look through a few piles of magazines and random papers, including piles of scholastic worksheets and unused coloring-in-pages (one featuring four rockhopper penguins on ice ledges of different heights), but cannot seem to find any of the copies of the letter. I tell Zsuzsanna that I do not know how all copies have seemed to vanish including the one I had just been reading at a desk.

Over time, as our residence slowly expands, I notice that our oldest daughter has gone into the left side of my wardrobe to sleep (while in a standing position). This does not strike me as unusual. I begin to hear her deep breathing through the closed wooden door.

I notice Dick Van Dyke (the actor, now 90 years old in reality), who is wearing a black business suit, walking around as if he is looking for something. He appears as he did in the late 1960s. I am not all that surprised and find it a welcoming visit. He stops near my wardrobe and puts his ear to the door. “Your daughter is very special,” he says sincerely, “she creates marvelous poetry”. He continues to press his left ear against the left door of my wardrobe and comments on the rhythm and beauty of her poetry, even commenting on particular stanzas that I myself do not hear, and even though she is asleep. (Our daughter is a very talented artist and she has done professional work for others at an early age, but she does not write much poetry.)

I finally start to talk to him by firstly addressing him as Richard.

“Richard?” he considers in a puzzled manner, not directly addressing me, but absentmindedly looking at the shelves of what is now a grocery store. My wardrobe is now perpendicular to the beginning of the aisle. “Richard,” he softly mutters, barely audible, and seemingly responding to an incorporeal voice rather than my actual presence. I conclude that I had unduly puzzled him and instead decide to formally address him by his surname. I cheerfully start to say “mister…” but then I somehow forget his surname. He does not acknowledge me at all but seems to be interested in studying the contents of the shelves, picking out a jar of orange marmalade (emerging consciousness metaphor), while I continue to wonder where the letters from the government are (subliminally waiting for my dream self’s ascent into whole consciousness as a letter symbolizes potential threads between dream self and conscious self in non-lucidity).

I go through a couple “rooms of our house” and end up near the entrance to “our house”, which is now the checkout area of the Woolworths grocery store. This does not seem strange to me at all. I look through a pile of papers near two different cashiers, but still cannot find a copy of the letter. I am not bothered by the unknown patrons being in our “home” which is now apparently solely a grocery store.

This dream was typically precognitive (as there is a precognitive element in nearly all my dreams of one kind or another, often left unappended - in fact, over the last few years, at least one a day based on something my wife or daughter had thought of or mentioned to each other without me having any way of knowing), though in a rather skewed sense as is often the case. Zsuzsanna had returned from shopping with a sheet of paper (given out at the grocery store checkout) that was a coloring-in drawing for the promotion of a children’s hospice (featuring four hummingbirds, not four rockhopper penguins, though still in the same position regarding the birds). I find it amusing how dreams do this all the time, that is, foreshadow forthcoming events, but often in a “cleverly” altered way (though literally or visually exact in many cases).

Still, in contrast, there are the typical dream signs and standard components and waking transition. Our oldest daughter has gone to sleep (dream sign) in my wardrobe (secondary dream sign) and my dream ends with a typical waking transition symbol (a grocery store checkout symbolizing the leaving of the dream state). My preconscious personification (here, Dick Van Dyke) ended up “avoiding” me, or “failing to understand” as is often the case, but still lovingly commented on the nature of my family (just prior to the waking stage), the most important aspect of my life.
    4. Past dream: Log 2 - My Only Nightmare

      by , 04-12-2016 at 06:38 PM
So this entry is the only time I remember having a nightmare. I would say I was aged between 4 and 5/6 it was pretty scary at the time.

So all I remember from it is being chased by a character who looked like a mix between the white rabbit from the animated Alice in Wonderland and Roger Rabbit from loony toons. He chased me into a wardrobe and I closed the doors to stop him, then in the wardrobe there was an angry ginger cat which hissed at me. This made me run out of the back of the wardrobe into a hedge maze made out of thorn bushes.

So... that's all I can remember of the dream. It was a pretty looong time ago. Have fun interpreting whatever that was....
    5. Sat 21st July 2012

      by , 11-25-2012 at 08:43 PM
      Last nights SP and OBE?

I wake up in SP and the vibrations are very strong. I hear squeaking at the side of my bed and I think "is that a fuckin mouse?" I now feel a mouse jump onto my bed by my head and run across it. My hubby stirs a little, I look but can't see a mouse ((HH)). I can still feel the vibrations so decide to close my eyes and I think to myself "I want to go out of my body" I open my eyes and I'm still in bed. The vibrations are still happening so I try again. I again close my eyes and think "I want to go out of my body" this time I feel myself slowly lifting upwards. I open my eyes and I'm floating in an upright position next to the side of my bed. I can see my big mirrored wardrobe and everything else that should be there, although my vision is quite blurry. I try to move forward a little but I feel slow, like I'm being held back, so I decide to just stay by the side of my bed and just enjoy floating for a while.
I see a shadow by my bedroom door, and get a feeling that its a female. I now notice a white handbag next to me but its not one of mine. Someone throws the bag to me, then giggles like they find it funny! Lol. I now think "shall I go and find my nan S?" (Who is deceased) but I quickly dismiss the idea out of fear of getting lost lol.
A woman now approaches me and says "ohh, no ones here, they haven't sent you a guide yet then, ill sort that out for you!" I now wake up in SP again, so I close my eyes, feel myself spinning and then the SP wears off and I get up.

    6. Urgent shopping at the supermarket

      by , 03-26-2011 at 10:10 AM
      Dream | Non-dream

      Background:

This was my Friday-to-Saturday's night dream. On Saturday, I go to the same supermarket I dreamt of. However, in my dream, it is a bit different -- it's organized differently.

I was already in the supermarket. Everything was all black, but I hit someone. I heard some guy saying: "Hey, this is our private meeting, get out!", but then, the whole shop lit up and I saw LOTS of people arriving. There was an official announce (government) but I can't remember what it was. I was at the enter of the supermarket, and decided to buy a few things. The first foods I saw were different types of ham. There were two or three rows of them, but one weird thing appeared right up: two rows of video games... most precisely Warcraft III Collector's Edition. I didn't realize this was wrong. I could have gone lucid :/ My parents and I went to the hanging wardrobe where we'd deposit our coats for free, exceptionally, as it was one of the supermarket's offer. It should have cost us $686 precisely, but we only paid $6 'cause they said 6 out of the 7 coats we deposited had hoods.

This is all I can remember from tonight. I'm quite surprised that the stand with the video games and the ham at the same place didn't tilt in my head... Furthermore, I looked a long time at the video games, which is even more annoying ^^.

Anyway, I hope I'll soon have a lucid dream!

I was already in the supermarket when my dream started, clearly at the enter. I saw lots of people. Apparently, there was something going on -- I could not know what it was, but the government had announced something.
