Lucid #264: The Lone and Level Sands

I’m walking near the corner of our house with my 5-year-old son E, inspecting some kind of odd, muddy buildup that’s caked all along the side of the house. It looks like it was sprayed there. For some reason I think that my next door neighbor sprayed this mud from his yard onto the side of my house. I become fretful that our relationship has soured somehow and wonder whether there was some conflict that I’ve forgotten about. As I think more about all of this, I realized that I have to be dreaming.

I turn to the east, looking toward my neighbor’s house. But everything to the east is a vast, quiet desert. Where my neighbor’s house would be is just the skeletal frame of a house, long abandoned. And now when I turn back to where my house was moments ago, there’s nothing but a ruined frame.

E is still beside me. The desert sun is bearing down on us now. I feel like we’ve just witnessed the passing of centuries, and that everything we know is long gone. I want to be someplace else, so I take a step forward and suddenly we’re in a stone chamber looking out through a long, horizontal window at the desert scene.

“Daddy, what happened to the house?” asks E. I don’t answer, but just tell him (and myself) that this is a dream.

The view through the window grows brighter and brighter, and I’m drawn into and through it, back outside, but this time into a quiet, unspoiled grassland. I sense that this is my neighborhood again, but now centuries before humans arrived in North America. I expect to see bison, and of course I see a lone bison off in the distance.

I walk with E through this quiet paradise for just a moment before
      the dream ends.

    2. Nov. 26 Dream Journal: Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'

I was pushing a wooden barrel down a gravel road like Walter White pushing a barrel across the desert. I kinda know what's inside the barrel as something valuable or precious, so I'm feeling protective of it. I seem to recall being warned about the dangers of going down this road, and I think this might even be the dreaded The Road to the South from Return to Zork.

Eventually, I come across diverging paths. I knew one path leads me to my goal (whatever that is), but like a good RPG-player, I wanted to explore the other path for the potential of rare treasure. I know such treasure exists, dammit, via Dream Video Game Logic.

Sadly, the dream ends before I could find anything. Still got my barrel though!

    3. The Weird Restaurant in China

I was at some museum in China and when I came out of the exit, I hugged some random old lady. She looked at me weird and said "I don't even know you", then walked away.
My mom, my sisters, and I drove back home and my mom was trying to be slutty with some clothes she bought 0.o
We drove to some pizzeria place and ate some dinner, everyone but me left. Everything became a Zork style gameplay, where I had to type in commands. I picked up some cooking stuff and read something. It said there was a robber at GameStop. I knew it was close by, so I took a shortcut up through a back alley way.
There was a pipe I couldn't walk up, so I climbed like a badass. I believe it was covered in ice as well.
I got to one point and saw the robber coming the opposite direction. I knew he was going to try to rob the restaurant. I was going to use the command "fight ___ with ___".
My dream slipped to this guy who looked exactly like Davis, and he was talking about video games. He was driving in a car, way too fast, and other people were in there too. The dream ended.
