    Doing my favorite things

    Dream date: 2.13.2011

I was at a movie screening with my dad who has passed. I realized that since he was alive, I must be dreaming and ran over to him to capitalize on the opportunity to talk to him. He immediately became lifeless. He was awake, but no mind. The realization that he was actually dead took away his life in my dream.

Realizing I was in a dream, I decided to find a girl. I then started flying to a new place. These are my two favorite things to do in my dream, and I used flying to find a girl.

The flying was great. I focused on the landscape. I flew over large clearings and avoided the dense trees. Sometimes I would have to navigate dense brush. Sometimes I can barely stay afloat, but I was very successful in regaining strength in flight.

I ended up finding a girl and having a very good time for what seemed a fair amount of time. I ruined it when I tried to get another girl to join. We touched fingertips, but I couldn't pull her in. That was the end of that.

I started waking up. Oh no!

I tried to get back into it. I think you call it WILD. Well, it worked, and I started flying again. It rates a close second to sex. I flew searching for a building with a door to go through. Instead, I ended up in Mario Brothers land and quickly left! I started looking for a building with a door again. I was in Disney land or something and there were all these food kiosks. I finally found the door, landed, and went through.

I found an unattractive girl, and went on. I then found a very pretty girl and I made something else very nice happen. I love when I can do that.

Any way, eventually that ended and I started trying to get it back in my dream. In search of, I started flying. I got confused in my efforts, so I ended up flying all over trying to find a girl. Instead, someone else found me and took offense at me. He pulled out a gun. Maybe that was triggered by the fact that I've been looking for a gun lately.

Anyway, in my dream I said, "Oh, I don't want any part of that!" but then I said, "No, I can handle this" or something like that. Right then, I thought about the task of the month, but it was for a past month. It was to be struck by lightning and to become a giant and to crush a city.

I started thinking a mix of the lightning task but turned that into letting the guy shoot me through the palms. I knew that was wrong, so I forgot about it. I was into my dream anyway, but it was really cool to remember that I had a task to complete. What a freaking trip.

The guy with the gun ended up shooting the gun unloading about 5 rounds and I started dodging them like Neo in The Matrix. The bullets were coming at me in slow motion because I believed they would.

I started to fly away and a guy who was about 8 or 9 feet tall could almost grab me. I flew up, but not much. I was really heavy and worried. That is about where my dream ended.

It was really awesome to be in such control. I have noticed that my dad is a trigger for me to realize I am in a dream.

Ah, the never-ending quest for dream sex. Good to see you have your priorities in order

You know what'd be a great idea for a TotM? Have a dream baby with someone and see what it looks like.

Unfortunately I still haven't gotten the flying thing down. I always wake up when I try. Any tips?

A dream baby huh? I have a hard time making things materialize. That would be a tough one, but it would be VERY cool to see what it would look like.

I'm good at flying. Tips? I don't know. I used to not be good at sex dreams, but for me, intent has a lot to do with it. Over time, you realize your LD shortcomings in your waking life, and the frustration solidifies your intent. You carry this intent, and the memory of past failures into your dreams, and you can get better.

I have to hope this is enough for me to improve as well. Remember what I said about intent (not that I'm any master at LD's). I found this site and learned about RC's. I read about counting the fingers on your hand. Three days later I had a dream that I counted 11 fingers on my hand, and just like the instructional suggested, one finger was sticking out of another. It wasn't even a reality check. I just dreamed I did what a reality check entails. It didn't even make me realize I was dreaming!...however, something got through in three days.

I intended it. I believe it is the strength of your intent. I know you may not have been asking for all this, but it is important to me. I think you need to experience something new to awaken your psyche, possibly get some adrenaline going. Do something exciting...and couple it with the idea of flying. I need to try this with myself too.

I'm taking vitamins now which I used to not do. I tell myself that each pill induces LD's. It isn't as much a placebo as it is a way of physically interacting with my intent.

Does this make any sense? Again, I don't claim to be better at this by any means. I am desperate to increase the frequency of my lucid dreams and control. It is a work in progress.

Oh, and thanks for reading my dream. :-)

I really like your philosophy on lucid dreaming. Especially the part about doing something new and coupling it with what you want to do in your dream.

I think the strength of your intent is not only crucial to how well you can LD but how much you enjoy life, period. If you want to excel at anything you need to play an active role and never stop thinking about it. You need to associate things with it that you never would have before. The passion's what makes it work and what makes it fun.

I think what's gotten me the couple lucids I've had in the past week or two is not just the reality checks but simply how much bigger a part of my life I've made my dreams out to be. I'm disappointed whenever I wake up and can't vividly remember something interesting in my dreams.

Either way, I don't believe in saying one person is better or worse at dreaming. Everyone has their own individual journey with this kind of thing. Hopefully I'll get flying down soon

I've made my dreams a bigger part of my life as well. I tried using my phones audio alarms and vibe alarms to send me a message in my dreams, but naturally they just woke me up.

Now I'm going to see if a friend of mine can help me make an REM dreamer. I realize that I can do more than I've ever dreamed possible!
