    1. From an unfamiliar place

The LD I had last night was significant in several respects.

      1. I didn't try to have it
      2. It happened while I was in my hammock
      3. It was long by my standards (around five minutes)

I think the LD was caused by my starting to read LaBerge's Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming.

And it gives me some evidence in support of a hypothesis that I have: that it's harder to enter LDs while sleeping in a hammock but easier to stay in them, due to the deeper sleep I get in the hammock.

Usually when I want to LD I WBTB about 3.5 hours after going to sleep, the best time for me, I've found, and instead of returning to sleeping in my hammock I just sleep on the floor. This gives me a much higher rate of LDing but the LDs are all short and sucky, often less than half a minute long regardless of how hard I try to stabilize.

It's hard to say how long this LD was, since it seemed to occur early in the night and, actually, I almost didn't remember it when I got up in the morning. It came back to me as I was stepping under the shower. But I'd say it was 5 minutes or so.

It was very vivid but my control of it was poor. All of my summons failed and all I could do was walk around my house. It was winter outside, very cold, and I was naked. I could feel the winter cold, but it wasn't unpleasant. I started flying and that woke me up, as often is the case. I'm going to quit flying in dreams for a while. It's very easy for me but always wakes me up
