Lucid Dreams
06/20: I find myself leaving someone's house in the evening hours. The scene shifts to what appears to be a restroom in one building, which looks as if it were left unattended, as it was completely filthy, where I apparently go by accident, only to find what appears to be a bounty hunter putting someone or something in custody. As soon as that scene ends, I find myself walking to a movie theater after being told by someone in the first scene that Van Helsing (the 2004 action film starring Hugh Jackman and Kate Beckinsale -- which I actually have on DVD) was being remade with different actors, and it released in theaters. I didn't go in, but I did see a colorful cast of characters hanging outside the premises dressed in an unusual fashion (punk, Goth, emo, etc.), just like what I saw leaving a movie theater 17 years ago in 2004 with a group after seeing the exact same movie in May of that year. The dream also ends there. I rarely get dreams of movie theaters nowadays, as the last one I had was on May 30th, 15 years ago at the age of 20. In addition, this dream was in the perspective of two people: a colorful teenage girl who went to see the movie, but was distracted, and a mysterious person who went to an unclean restroom by mistake and couldn't unsee what was going on. All I can remember now out of the two characters is the girl. I believe the girl eerily resembled a cross between Vanessa from the Syfy television series (played by Kelly Overton), Claudia from Warehouse 13 (played by Allison Scagliotti), and Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams in the days between Riot! and Brand New Eyes when her hair was dyed red-orange. Before waking up, I had noticed flashes of purple and orange as well. WM86/DFW signing off.
01/16: I believe the dream this time was a continuation from the "teenage girl trying to be Hayley Williams of Paramore" dream from three days earlier on the 13th. However, this time, I found myself in the living room of a beautiful house with a beautiful view of the neighborhood underneath a sunny/partly cloudy day a flat-screen HDTV with something recorded via a digital video recorder, or DVR, for short. On the TV screen playing through the DVR I see what appears to be a professional wrestling ring with red ropes, and a wrestler with seemingly strange attire taunting the crowd and holding in one of their hands what appears to resemble a championship belt, probably belonging to World Wrestling Entertainment, or WWE, for short; the champion dressed eerily similar to 1-time WWE Champion Jeff Hardy back in the days of the revered Attitude (1997-2002) Era, but all I could see was a flash of dyed blood red hair, but the person wearing his in-ring attire (oversized colored short-sleeved shirt, baggy pants, wristbands made from women's pantyhose, etc.) from 1998-99 (during the "New Brood" days) to at least 2002 was smaller than he is (he's 6'1"), and more than likely female. The rest of the dream made no sense, as a fake program on Netflix was shown with a cast of teenagers in what appeared to be an action-packed series in another room in the house, the setting still being daytime. I am no stranger to Jeff Hardy-like characters in dreams that dress unusually, as I've had dreams like that since 2001 (age 15), and the last one I had was twelve years ago back in 2009 (age 23). I am also no stranger to dreams taking place inside houses, as I remember having one as early as 1995 where I heard these electronic toy sounds, and then I walked into a room and saw what appeared to be a toy rabbit chomping on a floor, Pac-Man-style. When I went to tell my mom about it before going to school, she hilariously made a reference to Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (& Knuckles)'s Special Stages where you had to collect all the blue spheres to get a Chaos Emerald. I remember another one from early 2004 where the TV was on, probably on MTV as a music video was playing as well. If this was trying to show me an idea for YA/teen lit, I understand. Once again, I don't mind having these dreams. -WM86/DFW

The dream started when I rode in a car to the house of my late grandmother (mom's side) who passed away six months ago. From there the telephone rang as I was told that I had a dentist's appointment soon. A week later in the living room of my dad's house, I sit in the recliner in the living room asking my dad if he had any money to pay for a plane ticket, as it was all the way on the West Coast in Los Angeles. Dad had his TV tray with his big laptop on the table and his female friend who visits was sitting on the couch. A few weeks later in the dream, I find myself in Los Angeles...but unfortunately, it looks like downtown Raleigh. I hear a rendition of Ain't It Fun by the band Paramore that is the work of British pianist Sam Yung (it's also on YouTube), and just as soon as the first verse ends (when he stops playing for a few seconds), the actual song's chorus plays with band frontwoman Hayley Williams' vocals just like it sounded on the band's 2013 self-titled album (which I enjoy, by the way), bass, electric guitar, percussion and all. I remember saying something about copyright. I also remember being on a bus near the back when I heard it. I suddenly have this feeling where there really wasn't a dentist's appointment in LA and that I may have been tricked. As soon as I heard Williams' vocals, I jumped and felt a funny feeling in my right leg and stomach. (I think this may have been my first lucid in a while.) I remember dreams I've had from 2013-15 where towns and cities in southern California (Los Angeles (twice), Hemet High School, but one scene later) look like places in North Carolina that I may have been before (dentist's office in 2013, downtown Raleigh in 2014 and a random section in Wal-Mart in 2015 that looks like none of the stores I've visited in the state), leading me to think the two states are fighting over me and/or my writing works. I've also had Paramore dreams before, but Williams' hair has been different colors than the trademark red or orange. (I credit the Carmen Sandiego series of computer games (I saw the game show on PBS first when I was younger) for inspiring me to do research on the two states in 1998-99 in the 7th grade.)
11-03-2014: It's been a while since I last posted here. Yes, I have had some strange dreams over the past three years, but either they went too fast or I haven't had the time or bad days have caught up to me...repeatedly. However, the one last night was pretty memorable. I was able to also match the description of the dream character as well. She had brown hair and brown eyes, a petit build, wearing a beige bubble jacket, dark blue jeans with black high top Chucks (Converse Chuck Taylor All-Stars, for those who don't get the popular term) with either aqua green or sky blue shoelaces. She also looked around 14 or 15-17 years of age, and politely asked me and another character on a bus as she walked by, "Is anybody sitting here?" I didn't get to see what happened next, as I woke up around 6:30~40-ish. I believe she appeared in one other dream I had a couple of months ago, stemming from a strange YouTube video I saw detailing the uploader's views on reactions if YouTube user davemadson was terminated, and one of which had a screaming little girl that likely came from an episode of R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour that aired on Discovery Family (formerly The Hub). (On a sad note, he DID have to close down his channel on April 7, 2014 because of his busy personal life AND Microsoft discontinuing support for Windows XP that day--and I didn't even subscribe to him.) However, it was likely the girl from last night's dream but with the same clothes clinging to me, holding on to my left arm like she's scared of somebody. And yes, she still had the same (either) medium or dark brown hair and brown eyes. Again, I didn't know what happened next like the dream last night, as I woke up early. One of my life goals is to write a YA story, or young-adult novel. And as I'm writing this entry, I'm considering making her the main character. As I listen to a lot of music, I am also considering what kind of playlist she might have (personally, I would like it to be '90s mixed with today) as well. I am also in my 19th year writing (got my first computer/word processor in 1994, didn't start writing until 1995). In regards to the dream character, I haven't given her a name yet. I am also considering creating teenage boy characters where James Lafferty and Miko Hughes are inspirations/ideas (this is starting to become a trademark habit of mine) as well that serve as an interest to her. However, I'm not sure whether to base the story in California or North Carolina yet. I have found out in recent years that writing a story that takes place in North Carolina is a lot harder than writing one that takes place in California. This has been going on since late-2003 when I took a creative writing class in my senior year of high school. And I also learned that writing a young-adult novel is a tall order and I've got my work cut out for me. So that means I'd better get going and not let life distractions get in the way of achieving said goal. Until next time...WM86
5/14: I really don't like when these dreams sneak up on me, but it's OK. This kinda felt like the "Jotaro Kujo" dream four months ago (the last time I wrote here, I had a beige, plain-Jane, boring hard drive running Windows 2000 and it was too slow and every card in the machine failed. Now, I'm using a hard drive running Windows XP--working sound and graphics card and all), except this time it showed me the what the mega-corporation I created in both series, SpiraTech (for 2 writing projects, the Supercar and Insert Coin series) was up to, and it was no good, as always. I was in this office that looked like a hospital and some of SpiraTech Industries' core members were talking about this project they were working on, bearing a striking resemblance to (you guessed it) James Lafferty. All they had to do was log on to a computer operating Windows XP/Vista/7 using Internet Explorer/Mozilla Firefox/Opera/Safari, etc., Google him and read all about him on certain websites--which means SpiraTech did their homework, but that's about as far as it got. In the two series, SpiraTech's main goal--like most villains--is world domination in the world of cars and racing (Supercar) and video gaming (Insert Coin), by doing secret projects to beat the world's best competitors, usually in the form of humans and cars--but most of them on the Supercar side of things backfire on them. They'll also resort to low blows like setting up heists to steal things that are important in history like a Ford Model T or a Spacewar arcade machine. As much as I'd like to see my 3 writing projects (Supercar, Insert Coin, Education Lane) become TV shows--the second an animated series with 16 to 32-bit Super Nintendo and SEGA Genesis/32x graphics (like G4's Code Monkeys did with 8-bit graphics) and the third a sitcom about teachers, I've still got some work to do, so it may be a while (and I have to find a publisher!). Maybe this dream told me to get to work and stop wasting time. For me, getting ideas are sometimes easy while others difficult. I just need to get more organized, that's all.
1/4/11: Sometimes I don't even understand why I get dreams like this: one where you're running around in circles and running into random people that seem very attractive--and the setting is in a big building. Recently I've been having dreams where there's been some sort of hybrid when it comes to these big buildings: Some are colleges mixed with apartments, while some are independent high schools--next to apartments. In one scene, I'm in a dorm inside the body of someone who thinks there has been a failure/cheating. The roommate's had enough of his/her conspiracies. "You've got 30 seconds to explain to me what you're talking about." she replies. She looks a lot like Hollywood actress Alicia Silverstone in the face, only younger. I haven't seen ANYTHING movie-wise starring Alicia Silverstone in over 15 years, and I'm 24 now. After this, the "running around in circles" thing continued as a different character, running into random people and offices, even accidentally sitting on what appears to be a conveyor belt. I land on the ground, luckily, and on my own two feet. I'm guessing this part of the dream came when I thought about doing some JoJo's Bizarre Adventure fanfiction starring a character who has a Stand similar to series main character Jotaro Kujo, Star Platinum, and this was likely everything he (the fanfic character I created) saw, along with the college scene belonging to a character from another work of mine, Tracy Weston. A Stand, as many people who are fans of the JJBA comic book series know, is basically a supernatural power. Out of all the "bizarre" dreams I've had, I'd have to say this is one of the top ten, though I don't really see what big buildings have to do with JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. One of my goals in life is to be an author, and I think this dream might have been what I needed to get going. I'm new to this JJBA thing, so I guess I'd better read more in order to understand what's going on in each of the arcs.
10/19: I'm not sure why I'm thinking about something I dreamed about in 2001 and 2007, but like dreams I've had of James Lafferty before in 2007, it's left me cautious or unable to get a grasp on life the next day. The last thing I remember before getting this dream the first time around in fall 2000 or spring 2001 was hearing this song being sung in a Jamaican accent at the end of a Steven Seagal film from 1990, Marked for Death. Then in this dream I see this country road with this fake board game on the floor that's based on the film Scream. I suddenly hear a young man screaming and wonder if it's someone in the van or is it the electronic game board. I wake up the next day (a Sunday), wondering who that was making that screaming sound. The same dream happened around six years later after having an epic fail of a day in college (someone crying because someone wanted to do something and she wanted to do something else the day before, getting handed a loss in a game in class and the other team went nuts because my team lost, getting an unexpected friend request and group invitation on Facebook all in that order), my mind when I went to bed on February 15, 2007 wanted to make my bad day even worse. This time the screaming sound was different and sounded like the loudest scream heard in the Cruis'n games (the '90s arcade game series - USA, World and Exotica) from a male/female driver in traffic or a stalled computer-controlled opponent when you crash into them that sounds like a child (and the car you hit suddenly flips over or goes flying halfway across the screen if you went too fast). The dream made no sense a few scenes later and acted like the dream as explained above, except this time everything quieted down and I was in the passenger seat of what looked like a GMT800 (GMC Yukon), going for a ride down the country road again, and this time the driver resembled a young man in his 20s. I wake up at 5:30 am the next day, and all I could think of was someone I knew in high school and unable to get a leg up on life, and the next day in the computer lab, I go to Wikipedia and manage to put a name on the dream character, resembling Devon Sawa from films such as Casper and Final Destination (the first one). Maybe it was trying to tell me to get away from stressful situations?

(NOTE: If you wish to view my old Dream Journal, go to " Grandfathered Dream Journals" until you see "D.F.'s Dream Journal" and click on it.) This week has been crazy, and I'm just starting on this new way to write in a Dream Journal. And yet this situation I'm having has never happened before. Oh, and there's a new date when vivid dreams hit besides January 15. It's on May 2, and I don't even know how that got there. Even more bad news: the "Amanda" dreams I talked about in my old dream journal did not start in 1994 or 1995. It was actually started in 1992 (or 1993) when I had moved to Maryland at the age of six, after eating seafood (no, not fish sticks, that was eight years later), and viewed this toy commercial. And you know what's worse? It was a product for girls! Naming the mysterious character Amanda, however, did surface around 1994 or 1995. Back to the situation: it seems a "hot spot" for me to have these vivid dreams is around the week of July 25 (James Lafferty's birthday). Now I fear I'll get one of those dreams this Sunday just like the one on May 2 that makes me feel cautious the next day. However, last night, after a not-so-good night (bad thoughts of Shane McMahon (haven't I been here before?) after watching an episode of CSI where a murder was linked to a drag race; bad thoughts of Kristin Cavallari after seeing girls dominate game show episodes (Jeopardy!, Wipeout--again, I ask: haven't I been here before?), etc.), I thought it would be a long night w/trouble sleeping (sorry if I used the "w/" thing...)...but it turned out to be something I wish could've happened. I look under my desk in my room to find Tekken 2 remade for the PS3, with its own custom case. That's all I remember as I wake up the next day (today) with a headache. That's also the first time I've had a PS3-related dream. If only that were a reality... I look forward to this new technology when the next dream (vividly intense or whatever) comes. Until next time, WM86
