Sivason's Workbook- Dream the Good Dream

Hi Guys! I am a 41 year old man in Boise, Id. I am a very odd person. I almost seem to live in a different version of reality than other people I know. My interests have always run deep into the mysterious side of life. I have a short list of good qualities, mainly things I've learned, or how I treat animals and so on. I have an education, but I still seem to mispell many things, go figure. I enjoy artistic cultural treasures; things like statues of Hindu deities, swords, fancy books, and so on. I also like natural art; things like polished wood or stone, sea shells, flowers, crystals and such. I used to be involved in martial arts. I studied mainly the types that teach energy awareness.
I am married and our boy has moved out, so I have a quiet home life. I like animals. I have fish tanks and two rats, and a couple cats. I have a space for a garden and enjoy that sort of thing.

Hey, glad to see you around these parts,
I've always found people who are 'different' interesting, so I envy the fact you are so willing to speak about it.
Well I know you are an accomplished LDer, so all I'd like to see right now are some DJ entries on dreamviews to see where to go from there.

My cat got bit very very hard by a rat when it was young, so the cat gives the rats space. It was sitting on the cage when it got attacked and bit, so it stays away from them. I actually have weird dreams sometimes about trying to keep cats away from rats. Those dreams are about as close to bad dreams as I get.
I think I will use this notebook to work on my recall, posting what I can of non-lucids, and an affrimation Gab taught. I have been so stressed with work, my recall has faded to almost nothing. I wonder if some kind of mantra or affrimation during my day will help.

Oh no, well we can't be having that, I'm sure you already know what works well for you in terms of recall.
But if you don't have time to write down in a DJ, you can always just consolidate the memory by running over them when you go to sleep.

      Hi sivason!

Thank you for posting about your pets. I have two cats and I say thanks to the universe daily that they are allowed to live with me.

I think the "I have good memory and my recall is better every day" could be also said during day for things other than recall. Maybe something like "I have good memory, I remember to stop at the drycleaners". Maybe this could work on general memory and that would help the recall? Happy dreams

I know I had some fun and intense dreams last night, but I was in a hotel and did not have a note pad, plus the general stress of work made my brain race the second I woke up. Everything quickly became blurs. ;(
"I have good memory and my recall is improving every day." I am the type to remember to carry a note pad with me, and have the determination to use it, regardless of how much work gets to me!"
"I have great memory, and the laps in recall is over now." "I remeber everything that passes my mind, my dreams are clearly remebered and placed in my notebook."
Ok, on to the next night. I will report back on the recall issue. Thanks guys, feel free to comment as I go, but I understand that advice won't help as much as hard work and good intent wil.

Ok, reporting back. I have been working very hard at a busy job. However, a few times each day I have used the ideas Gab recently offered, and repeated a basic affrimation. I witnessed a large change over just a few days. In general, this month, I have had no luck at getting any LDs to stay lucid for more than a minute or two, and then I have not been bothering to try and remember them.

The first day I refocused and tried the technique I only recalled 6 key words, even though I know I have a very active dream life. The second day, I could remember 3 full scenes. Then last night, the third day, I recalled a couple vivid dreams. So I have clearly improved my recall using this form of MILD.

Here is the sad thing. I was sleeping in a hotel, and when i woke up, I made sure I clearly recalled the two dreams. I did not write it down or repeat them over and over. I ended up totally forgetting two cool dreams.

A good lesson in general. I should journal my non-lucids too. It would be good for my recall skill in general.

      Thanks.

Good thing your recall is improving, thats good. Too bad that you forgot those dreams though, did you try thinking of a keyword in case you were to forget? Sometimes its easier to remember a small significant part than journal or write down notes, and if you set the intent for it to give you back the dream like "When I hear/read/watch X will remember this dream" should help some.
