Picke's Workbook
Hi, I'm Andrew (or, if you prefer, Pickle), I am nearly 16 and I have been interested in Lucid Dreaming for at least 5 years. My dad explained to me when I was 11 that in dreams he can realize he is dreaming, and take control. He flies and interacts with DCs as a normal activity. Over those years it's stuck in my head, and only a couple of years ago did I find Lucid Dreaming.
I have been looking into DILD myself for a while after having trouble with a WILD, and I understand the basics. I have my first physical DJ beside me, as I'm about to go to bed. Starting tomorrow morning I will practice the nose plug daily, it is the only RC I have successfully used, but that 30 second excitement then collapse dream is not one I count as important to my progress.
I'm ready for any suggestions and/or help. But for now, good night.

Hi Andrew and welcome to DILD workshop.
We are glad that you decided to follow up on what your dad told you. You will not be disappointed.
Couple of suggestions:
1. practice more RCs than just the nose plug.
- sometimes RCs in a dream gives you false negative so you should always do 2-3 RCs
- even if your RC didn't show up in your dream yet, doesn' mean it will not in the future, even if you practice it just occasionally
- other reliable RCs are looking at your hands, counting your fingers, gravity (say "if this was a dream, I could levitate"), thumb through palm
2. Every dream is important. By writing down even just fragments or short ones, you telling your brain that dreaming and remembering your dreams is important to you. I doesn't hurt to also say "Thank you for my dreams. My next one is longer and stable".
3. It's hard to controll your excitement, but with more experience, the excitement of realization will subside and you will be able to stay in the dream longer.
4. Read up some guides in DV Wiki about stabilizing your dream, so it lasts longer. (I'm sure your dad will give you some advice too. We would also love to hear how he stabilizes.)
5. Check out tutorials on mantras and awareness techniques.

Hm, I am interested. Did you have any lucids when your dad told you about it?

Welcome Pickle,
It must be truely inspirational that your dad LDs! Anyway I wrote out TWO replies to you but they both got canceled for some reason.
Here are some tasks I'd like you to do:
- Write in your dream journal every day, if there is too much bullet point
- Reality check when strange things happen
- Try out the MILD technique, it works really well with WBTB
- Read some different techniques, try some out if you like the sound of them e.g. ADA, RAT
- Write your progressions here

This worked out great didn't it? Sorry guys, busy going through high school and I don't have much time to do any of this. I'm sure it'd be a great help this here academy but life is busy right now. Thanks for the suggestions and I might get back into this but I've got plenty of schooling ahead of me.
Hukif - I have only had a short lucid dream RC induced. Nothing when my dad told me he LDs.
