      Warpflare`s Workbook

Hello! I`ve been interested in Lucid Dreaming for a few year`s, but never did anything about it except read a few books. But then I had a few experiences with Sleep paralysis after a naps and my interest was rekindled. That was about 10 months ago. I`ve been struggling along on my own till I found this site a month ago. I can`t get on often, or for long, but I`de like to master I all can in relation to Lucid Dreaming. I`ve had 4 lucid dreams, 1 WILD and 3 DILDS. But only in the WILD did I have good control over myself. I`m most interested in learning to DILD, and a long term goal of mine is to have one every night. And I`m willing to work for it. I look forward to working with you.

Welcome to Dreamviews and to my DILD workshop. Looking forward to helping you on your quest of mastering DILDs

Most important aspect of DILDing is the intent and excitement.

Intent is more than a "wish". When you wish, you hope. When you have an intent, you "know" for sure, that you are good at LDs and you gonna have one whenever you want. It's also important not to get frustrated with failed attempt and take it not as a failure, but as another lesson that brings you closer to your goal.

Excitement - do you remember the happiness you felt in your first lucid? Keep that feeling alive by recalling it every time you practice daytime awareness+RC.

I'm sure you already know the basics, but I would recommend to refresh your memory reading this Collection of techniques for DILD

and this DILD tutorial. At the end there are some links to more detailed explanations.

Control is not always the same. You can have different degrees, or no control at all. I bet it will get better with more lucids. Again, intent is the key. If you know that you can do something, there is a very good chance that it will work.

If you can't spend a lot of time online, maybe you can download the articles and read them offline. Good luck

Thanks for the advice, I do often download the articles to read during the week. I`ll look over these links.
Do you have any good stuff about DreamGuides? One of my first goals is to Find mine. Motivation to LD

By the way, I don`t really feel my emotions much, in RL or LD. I haven`t had excitement ruin a dream yet anyway. I don`t really feel it during. Is it normal to?

There is a few theories about DGs.
      1. It's often just a regular dream character that will claim to be your DG. Obviously, he will be of no help to you.
      2. Some people do have a genuine DG. Read some of the sivason's latest posts. His DG is teaching him all kinds of stuff. His DG is probably an entity from higher realms. I have a feeling, that they don't come to every dreamer who yells "where is my DG?". They wait for us to get better and to prove that we are good people? That's my feeling, anyway.
      3. DG is your higher self. Your mind, your soul, that retains all the knowledge and can teach us, even without a middle man of a DG. It's enough to shout out a question and see if anybody answers. Check out Ludid dreaming - The Gateway to inner self by Waggoner. Whole book is about self-exploration.

Not sure how much common it is, but I have heard from at least one person that he doesn't feel rush of excitement when realizing lucidity. But then I can't confirm, that he had a real lucid dream, so I'm not sure if that's why he didn't feel anything.

Me personally, I used to get extremely happy and got and incredibly strong, out of this world feeling of something. I guess it was happiness, but much stronger then any happiness here in waking life. Now, I don't get so super excited when I realize I'm lucid, but there is almost always something like "oh, finally I'm lucid again", or "ok, here we go", or something similar.

But I still get super excited when I fly. And I fly in 99% of my lucids. I just start to laugh hysterically from excitement.

I`ve just had a good week WILD wise. I found time for a nap everyother day this week, and managed a WILD each time for a total of 4 dreams of decent leangth/quality. plus one DEILD when I got to excited during my a flight and lost the dream, but managed to get right back in. This is definately a high in LD`s in one week. This is the first time I got exhilerated during a flight to the point of waking. Which I take as an accomplishment, not a problem. I love that feeling now. I searched a little for a DG as well, but I`m taking a long term aproach to it. Maybe it won`t come till I`m ready, or maybe not until I find it. But I`m going to start looking.

      Holy smokes, that's awesome!

And congrats on the feeling. Indeed, it's exhilarating. That's why I can't even get mad if it wakes me up. Just that feeling by itself is awesome.

As you falling asleep, talk to your higher self, as if you would talk to another person. Express your wish to be taught. Say, that you are ready to learn. Your higher self is listening. If your DG feels that you are ready, he will show up.

If you don't mind me asking, what you doing in Japan? Happy dreams

Thanks, I`m still a little frustrated though. I can`t seem to increase my DILD count. WILD just depends on when I can make time for it. DILD`s are more convenient, but I`m not sure how to experience them more, other than to do RC`s and ADA.

Next time I LD I`ll try to remember to follow your advice on finding my DG.

Right now I don`t know if I can tell you, it`s a little personal. But I`m in Japan for another year, near Nagoya. The language is tough, but I`m having a great time.

I haven't been on for awhile. I injured myself, moved half way across the world, and screwed up my sleep schedule. I have to get back into the habit of recording my dreams. Can anyone give me tips for getting back into Dream journaling?

      Oh, hope nothing serious.

Best time to record your dreams is when you wake up from one. Be it at night or in the mornig. Stay still, don't open your eyes and try to recall, if you had a dream and what it was. Give it a few minutes.

If you drinking water before bed and then each time it wakes you up at night, there is a good chance that you will remember a dream then. I have a scap paper in the bathroom and i scribble down some keywords. Then in the morning I write the whole dream into DJ.

DJing is important, it lets your mind know, that dreams are important to you.

And as to increase frequency of DILDs - just by increasing not just frequency of awareness question+RCc+mantras, but also quality of them. There should be some genuine emotions when you ask the "wow, what if this is a dream" question. You really have to believe, that yes, you are in a dream nad RC you are doing is gonna work, because you are in a dream.

      Good luck.
