      BeginnerLDr's workbook

Hello! My name is Corey and I'm 16 years old, I have recently become absolutely fascinated with lucid dreaming and would love to be able to do it. I've done a lot of research on all the different techniques and I decided DILD/MILD would be the best way for me to get started. I started on Wednesday and since then I have been making sure to contently work on my awareness, do RC's throughout the day, and write in my journal as soon as I wake up. My dream recall is pretty decent, when I wake up I can usually remember at least one of the dreams with pretty good detail, but the past two days I have been able to recall 2+ dreams so that is getting me pretty stoked knowing that everything I'm doing is working. Now for my presleep preparation , after 15+ minutes of meditation, I get in my bed exited and confident telling myself "Tonight I will lucid dream". So far I haven't been able to become lucid but I know with practice it is bound to happen eventually. So yeah guys, wish me luck and I will definitely be keeping you guys updated with my progress!

Goooooood morning. Alright so I only got 5ish hours of sleep last night and I did not even come close to becoming lucid, other than that I was able to remember three of my dreams. My memory of them is very vague and I don't remember the order of them but I'm going to blame that on the lack of sleep. Also I think I'm going to stop trying meditation before bed because the past two nights it has left me laying in my bed for quite a while and unable to fall asleep. Do you guys know any other way that I could relax before bed?

Yesterday no dream recall because i had to get up and turn off my alarm clock. But last night I almost became lucid! In the dream I was at a party and everyone was taking shots of mashed potatoes for some strange reason and I quickly realized that something was a bit off but before I could perform a RC I woke up

I had the chance to become lucid but I didn't. In this dream I was at my house and somebody knocked on my door, I opened the door to see a man in a suit standing there. I said hello and all that stuff and he then sits down in this rocking chair I have on my deck. Once he sits down he looks at me and he asked me, are you dreaming? I was kind of puzzles by it, I said I know I'm awake because I did a reality check. But the thing is, I didn't. I was so convinced that it was waking life that I didn't even take it into consideration. So that's it, kinda makes me frustrated that I didn't do a RC but it's whatever, 2nd night where I had the chance to become lucid.

Hi Corey. I'm sorry for my late reply.

OK, you seem to be doing well. You have found something in a dream to be strange, which is good. Try to RC each time you think something during day is strange, but also at totally random times. To stop thinking in a dream that you are awake, try telling yourself during daytime "I'm dreaming". That's a good mantra for a bedtime also.

Please check out this article about DILD. You will find here about RCs, mantras, awareness and dream journal. See, if there is anything, you could add to your DILD practice. You can get more details about each of the topics in DV Wiki.

Keep me posted about your progress and please ask, if you have any questions. Happy dreams

      Thank you .

Would you suggest supplements for Dild? I have melatonin and b6 so I'm trying to decide whether to use them now or wait until I start WILDing.

Last night I took melatonin and b6 and one of the dreams I had I was talking to a guy who was trying to sell me lucid dreaming pills... The last three nights I've had dreams related to LD's so I think I'm getting pretty close.

I do take B6 occasionally. It should help with dreams being more detailed and vivid. Never took Melatonin, so can't comment on that, sorry.

And yes, dreaming about LDing is a good sign.

When you practice RCs, don't forget to use emotions. Really think about what you doing and be happy about your fist lucid. Good luck

In one of my dreams last night I was drinking orange juice and I realized that it didn't taste right, it was like twice as good as usual and I couldn't figure out why. I'm starting to remember my senses which makes me happy. Like you said I just need to work on my RCs because I never think about doing them in my dreams.

Definitelly work on your RC together with awareness, with lots of feeling put into it. Although normally, first you get lucid and split second later you automatically do RC just to confirm.

Keep practicing, you are on the right path by noticing something strange in a dream. So add doing RC when something strange happens during day. Like your classmate is not at school when he should be, or anything like that. Act really surprised and tell yourself 'wow, that shouldn't have happend".

My personal favorite is the classic RC, as described in the article I linked for you. It works like magic. Happy dreams
