      Nfri's Workbook

      Hello dear oneironauts, I'm Nfri.

I think that the most fascinating thing in the entire universe is a brain, especially human brain, specifically my brain since that's all I got and I've found, that this brain has really neat function - Lucid Dreaming or whatever you call this activity. I remember one lucid dream when I was really young like 11 years old I think,so when I was reading about the topic I knew what is this semicrazy stuff all about. I decided to learn this skill and be good at it.

Today I have 86 lucid dreams listed in dream journals and I want more.
That's why I would like to join this course - because of motivation and share my progress with people who understand it.

My methods for entire July are:
      1. State of mind
      2. Mantra
      3. MILD (my way)
      4. WBTB
      5. Dream Journal

I'm looking forward for sleep tonight

I didn't sleep very well today, because of upcoming busy day and waking up early.

I woke up three times during the night and try to remember my dreams. Five dreams come to my mind, but they were about violence, betrayal and ex. I decided not to list these dreams to my DJ and rather to forget them. I think that was mistake, because when you want to master something, you have to lick some of black cream as well.

Hi Nfri, welcome to DILD class!

Looks like you are an accomplished LDer. You are mentioning WBTB and MILD. What other methods, if any, are you using?

You know, you can practice MILD during day, but best time is as you are falling asleep. It's even better, if it is a last thought before you doze off.

WBTB is usefull, but not all is lost, if you don't get up for it. Even a brief trip to the bathroom and then few mantras as falling asleep would do the trick.

So you are using only mantras? Have you considered adding more to it to make it a DILD? Happy dreams

Yes, before sleep I say to myself that I'll have many lucid dreams tonight. Before falling asleep I do 10 minutes MILD and during WBTB after my dreams are listed to DJ I do MILD also. From now, I use dayMILD every day at least for one hour.

I think I'm getting better. In three days I've accomplished 3 LD's... Go sleep between 22/23 really helps to success WBTB. The more WBTB = incerease probability of LD's.

I was really stressed out before sleep time. Meeting with people from your past can be stressful. I slept for 11 hours with no WBTB and no MILD. Also no dreams or real fragments recollected. I really need to avoid this stress situations before sleep, because it is so fcking unhealthy and unproductive.

Yes, stress can effect our sleep and dreams and recall. It's good to avoid it if we can.

And congrats on your LDs! Nice job. Happy dreams

I deeply want to have LD's again. I didn't practice my MILD and I didn't follow my lucid dreaming plan lately, because I moved into a new apartement and before that I was on holiday. I did't have a plan for a new enviroment. I made my plan today and from now on I will dilligently do my best and practice every day and night, I promise to you all, my oneironautics friends.

My avarage dream recall is 5 fragments / a week (4 weeks counted)

My goal for upcoming week is to have at least 15 fragments, 5 dreams and 2 lucid dreams.
-------Monday - 3 fragments recalled and written into my DJ, no full dreams or ld on Monday :/
I hope tonight I will be more lucky. I need to change my habits and thinking to become more efficient.

And your recall is already up. I am sure there are things I can learn from you with all those LDs but I would also like to help you any way I can. Gab recruited me as co-teacher in here. If you find your practice waning in the future, consider holding onto as much as you can...perhaps your favorite parts and build your way back to all the things that help you meet your goals. It can also be fruitful to review your favorite dream journal entries.

It helps if you put your DJ someplace where you can reach it easily, even when you are not doing WBTB. And maybe a small keychain flashlight. Happy dreams

I agree with you on focus. I struggle with that at bedtime off and on. Have you tried a mantra as you first go to bed along the lines of "I remember my dreams" or "I remember my dreams and write them down"? It should be said with real intention behind it (and in the present tense like in the example) about 15 or so times...usually the more the better. I often forget the power of a mantra when I first go to sleep and end up doing any night work during my wbtb but I am trying to get better at reminding myself when I first go to bed through my own mantra. Recounting your day in a day journal can also help with dream recall. For day recall there are some days that I recall so much that is overwhelming so I sometimes just pick a random period during the day to look back upon and recall so it doesn't feel like a burden that I won't keep up. I got the idea from a thread by Mastermind. Let me know if you want the link.

Well, I prefer my small pc notebook next to my bed. I have two wood stools right next to my bed specialy for LD purposes...

Yes, I do use my 'mantras' ( I don't like to call it mantras, it sounds like some esoteric shit, let's say it is GOAL REMINED. I have two goal reminders: 1. I'm a lucid dreamer and I will have many lucid dreams tonight. 2. I will wake up after every rem period and I will write my recalled dreams. No other thoughts are allowed come to my mind. The problem is I don´t focus on this goals reminding proces for a sufficient period of time. I need to focus on it at least 10 minutes each I think. Tonight I will try it.

Recounting your day in a day journal can also help with dream recall.
I'm not sure about this, do you have any experience? Is it your prenight routine?

Let me know if you want the link.
      Yeah, sure

This is my plan during the holidays until new year for effective lucid dreaming practice:

      1. State of mind - don't feel any stress, let all go, nothing is really important except for lucid dreaming goals. Keep it mind and be calm all day long. Be relaxed and calm and happy. RELAX and give away ALL my IWL tasks and worries into my locked box, time to open it after my LD practice is done at 9 a.m.

      2. Be motivated and excited about lucid dreaming - books, forum, competition, movies, imaginations of goals and my better future with this skill

      3. Be confident - I already induced LD 121 times and written it down and it was really easy if I tried calm and focused and I believed in accomplish my goal - be lucid tonight for sure

      5. Go to bed at 10 p.m. every day and do my LD readings and practice, preparation for the night practice, take vitamin B6

      6. hard remind of my goals - wake up every 2 hours and recall all my dreams, don't think about anything else just dream recalling, record main memories into my iphone and then start write to my DJ, focused MILD - 12 minutes before falling asleep

      7. wbtb every two hours of sleep - first alarm 4,5 after falling asleep

      8. perfect Dream Journal - date
      result
      day recall
      supplements
      night plan
      time of wbtb
      dream recall
dream signs - list them and use them
      level
      translation
      competition points
      edification

      9. Eat cheese over wbtb

      10. Focused MILD every WBTBs - 12 minutes without thinking about anything else - no shitty thoughs allowed come to my mind during the night
picture me back in my dream
      notice few dreamsigns
imagine realization that this is the dream
      do RC
imagine my lucid achieving of goals and the feeling and knowing that I'm lucid, dream desire incubation
      fall asleep

      I CAN I WILL I MUST

Congrats getting lucid! A lot of good things on your list on the post before last...the only thing I would add is to go forward with strong intent but make sure it doesn't feel too much like "pressure." You have more LDs than, me so take anything I say with a grain of salt of course. And whatever you did last night worked! How long have you been LDing?

How long have you been lding?
      Thank you for asking!

      My LD CV

Childhood - Once or a few times I experienced lucid dreaming.
Around my 15 years - I naturaly began to be interested in philosophy - psychology, perception, consciousnes, drugs... I read blog post about OBE and Astral projection. I was wondering if there is soul or it's man's made up concept, so I tried to leave my body - 30 times without success. I tried hard but just strange sensations emerge. I doubted about existence of soul.

2007 - I've read about lucid dreaming on the internet and I have been fascinated about this phenomenon. I bough Stephen Laberge's book called Lucid dreaming. Fresh edition (late 2006) in my native language. I've read it and I immediately set up my dream journal book.

17 March 2007 - My first official lucid dream - (alcohol before sleep) I realized LD before orgasm with mature lady. I climbed up on a bulding and jump from the roof. I fell down on the ground and it hurt.

2007 /2010 - about 20 LDs listed. I didn't undestand clearly how to induce lucid dreaming and I didn't write nonlucid dreams into DJ, only lucid ones and not always.

2011 - I do not pay attention to lucid dreaming - 4 LDs found listed in my DJ

2012 - 26 LDs. I was obsessed by thought of who I am, what is the meaning of life, who I wanna become, who are my friends, what I wanna do in my life, what are my habits, what are my attributes and so on. I've read Lucid dreaming again and I bought english version of Expolring the world of lucid dreaming and 30 days to lucid dreaming program. I do my wbtbs and dream recall in the night and do a lots of experiments with sleep, lots of papers inspired by Stephen LaBerge's practical workbook. Little improvement but without much effective effort. I still don't understand and I really didn't try to how to induce mild lucid dreaming.

2013 -about 70 LDs. I continue not very determined write my DJ, until I found dreamviews forum. I register there and first thing I do is that I read Naiya simple mild technique. I understand how LD is easy to induce and began to have 3 LD's/week. I joined competition on DV which helped me with motivation. I also started my electronic DJ on my small notebook because of translations on DV. I experienced LD 40 minutes long. This is my personal record so far and I learn how to induce very effectively LD by my own MILD technique, but I've been very stressed lately so I didn't do it and I don't care because of hard life situation. I also experience 5x DIELD in a row, it was amazing. I decided that I will become Master in lucid dreaming skill! I will work on it every day in 2014 - It's one of the most important goals.

      2014 -
