Well on the second try I decide to DILD... I read up on it, did all my intentions, Made a mantra.. It's "PERC" ... Personal best... Responsible... Confident... Like a Perk :p... Well I then self woke up at 4:45, got up I blacked out so I brushed my teeth, stretched a bit, read a bit more on DILD... I then wrote my non lucid dream in my journal ( first time keeping a journal so please bear with me) We'll I was in a strange house and I suddenly spotted a cockroach, the size of a cat... And it was quite a aggressive.. I tried to smash it against the door, no dice.. I then tried to poison it by cutting the head off of another roach.. Also large cats began to appear that were bullying the cat that we had (in IRL)... So after going to bed at 5:40 I did all the necessary things... Mantra, intentions then stayed still, first time I had to move cause I wasn't comfortable but on the second try I stayed still.. Saliva was building up in my mouth though... After I think what felt like an hour I felt some vibrations and noise which I proceeded to ignore and also an sp like feeling which I took full advantage of as it helped me keep still.. During this time I'm still repeating my mantra after every exhale... I could see some stars and shapes and weird lights and tried to look for a rectangular shaped one... So that i could form a roller coaster.. But I didn't manage... I kept going in and out of focus... I think I fell asleep after a but then soon woke up and continued reciting my mantra..(there seems to be gap here) but it's where the next dream starts... (I'll split this into two parts)

      Lucid dream

Now first I had a non lucid dream (again) ... It was about me riding a bike in the county side and someone wanting to forcibly trade bicycle sears.. I tried to escape but he ran after me but he wasn't aggressive but very adamant. Then this is where there seend

Where there seemed to be a gap in my dream. All of a sudden I find myself outside a little shop on my bike (in IRL I don't own one).. The guy who wanted my bike is looking for some tools, I take the opportunity and run away again this time I'm successful. 10 seconds into my ride I find a highway. But there's only one problem, all the cars are going the same way on both the lanes, towards me, I weave through them and move to the right Lane (by the way it's suddenly night time) then all of a sudden I notice a car going the "correct" way and a lot of the cars on the right Lane that seemed to be driving the wrong way were actually just facing the wrong way but reversing /driving backwards. Immediately I knew that that wasn't normal and told myself that I was in a dream. I willed myself to go 150 kph on the bike and I started to accelerate. While this was happening I started to think about what I wanted to do. I then concluded that if I wanted to reach any town it would take too long so I got off my bike. I remembered the technique of spinning around quickly like a figure skater. Unfortunately I woke up. Or did I? I found myself in bed but surprisingly very calm but I kept my eyes shut. First I thought it was probably a false awakening since it usually happens if you fail to anchor. I then attempted to levitate above my bed but it didn't work. But for some strange reason I thought that I could DEILD/DILD again by just staying still and repeating my mantra. I fell asleep
NOTE:After I woke up I remembered that sometimes after doing some anchoring you may have a false awakening and should do some RCs. And also I had made the intention of having a portal to my gym in the bathroom that lead to a type of door that I can type in or think about a place and it'll send me there in case I ever had a false awakening.
What did I do wrong?maybe the amount of sleep? It was about 4 and a half hours then I WBTB. Or should I have rubbed my hands together to make it more vivid?

Hello Theonidus/Denzel (which do you prefer?), and welcome to the DVA DILD class!

It sounds like you had quite a night there with some lucidity, so congrats on that!

It can't really see anything you did that I'd consider "wrong." There's not much wrong about dreaming, everybody needs to find what works best for them. I've not done much spinning, it's generally considered a last ditch attempt to preserve a dream that is fading. Some people use it to change locations, but it can have a dramatic effect like what you experienced, perhaps even waking you up.

Many people experience FAs, they're a major part of dreaming practice. I don't know that you can prevent them by "anchoring" (what do you mean by this, actually?). It's probably the best you can do to just prepare yourself for the idea of them and get in the habit of questioning every waking by doing an RC right away.

I know that for me, when I'm near to lucidity or have just had a LD and kept on dreaming, I frequently have FAs. Sometimes I catch them, sometimes I don't. It's not about doing anything wrong.

If you like, you could perhaps share a bit about your dreaming practice background: have you read any books, what do you do during the day, during the night, do you do RCs, what are your goals, and so forth, basically, give us an introduction to where you are now and where you want to go with dreaming practice.

Feel free to use your workbook as a place to track your progress, ask questions, etc. Let us know if you have any other questions!

In the meantime, I'd recommend having a look through the articles here: important & informative links, they'll give you a good background about what's important in dreaming practice.

Sorry I got it a little bit mixed up,from what I can remember reading spinning can be used to move to other places and pay attention to details.. I think I spun too vigorously as it's supposed to be a gentle action...

      Btw Denzel is good..
I discovered lucid dreaming 3 days ago off of reddit... I started using and practicing RCs yesterday and self awareness during the day at random intervals. I haven't read any books yet. Last night I started practicing and reciting my mantra "PERC"... I'm ashamed to say that I don't have any clear cut goals yet... But I've been trying to go to Ferrari World (it's an amusement Park in Abu Dhabi that I visited last year ) while in a lucid dream.. That was practically my first lucid dream as far as I can remember

Ah, ok, you're right at the very beginning then. It's pretty impressive that you've had a lucid moment already! I recommend reading a book, my personal favorite for starting is LaBerge's Exploring The World Of Lucid Dreaming.

As for goals, simply starting out it's good to work on dream recall, establishing your dream journal, and starting paying attention more during the day and doing RCs. It sound like you're doing those already, so good for you! Having dream goals that you're excited about helps to maintain motivation and to give you that extra push to, for example, get up for a WBTB (wake back to bed) which aids in getting lucid a lot.

edit: Let me add that I find rubbing my hands together (at any point you feel unstable) can really help to bring the dream into good focus and establish stability, as does doing a RC in the dream.
