      Lucid Dreaming Bibliography

I believe these books and resources are extremely helpful for beginners and more experienced dreamers alike.
      • Exploring The World Of Lucid Dreaming (link) by Stephen LaBerge ("ETWOLD")
All-time classic, beginners start here. Particularly the opening chapters 1, 2, and 3, tell you all you need to know and do in order to have your first (and more!) lucid dream.

      • The Mind Illuminated by Culadasa (John Yates, Ph.D.)
A step by step, clear program for developing a powerful conscious mind via different forms of meditation (walking & seated). The descriptions of attention, awareness, mindfulness, and so on are to me, truly revelatory. I think this is a must-read for any serious lucid dreaming practitioner.

      • A Course In Lucid Dreaming by Stephen LaBerge
Somewhat hard to find. Not strictly necessary, but very helpful in that it condenses the recommendations from ETWOLD into step-by-step exercises

      • The Tibetan Yogas Of Dream And Sleep (link) by Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche
The classic dream/sleep yoga book. The introduction to the practice section is perhaps the most important writing on awareness/mindfulness and its relationship to lucidity in all the literature. Heavy on the Buddhism but if you're not open to that there are still very relevant sections.

      • Dream Yoga: Illuminating Your Life Through Lucid Dreaming and the Tibetan Yogas of Sleep by Andrew Holecek
Just about everything Holecek writes is on target. Amazing sections on awareness, mindfulness, and lots of visualizations to practice. He has a gift for describing deep concepts in simple words. Also lots of Buddhist points of view, regardless of whether you're open to that or not, this is a must read.

      • Wherever You Go, There You Are -- Mindfulness Meditation in Everyday Life by Jon Kabat-Zinn
Excellent, approachable book on general mindfulness. Includes daily "things to do" to promote mindfulness.

      • The Phase (link) by Michael Raduga
The techniques in here are in essence an organized approach to inducing DEILDs. Something everyone should try.

Added links to TYoDaS and ACILD! ACILD is sometimes hard to find (the pdf appears and disappears periodically), so grab that one now while you can!

Updated link to ACILD (previous link was broken). As links to ACILD seem to go stale frequently, I recommend downloading and saving this little gem.

I've added The Mind Illuminated, a book I just discovered and about which I'm very excited! I think the models of consciousness, and definitions of attention, awareness, mindfulness, how they work, and importantly, a clear program for how to develop them, are just extraordinary.

The ACILD link has died again, somebody obviously does not want this generally available. It's currently available on Z-library, a simple search for this will find it.

Is it this one? If not, could you share the name of its author?

Yes, that's the one! (The author is in the [edited] OP, but I neglected to put it in the reply just above, sorry!) By Culadasa (John Yates, Ph.D.).

It looks like old posts can't be edited, I'd add that in 2022 a new edition of The Tibetan Yogas of Dream and Sleep was published, and it is well worth acquiring this new version. The practices and indeed a great deal of the dream yoga section have been updated to reflect the author's 30+-year experience in teaching dream yoga. Many practices and descriptions have been simplified, it feels even more approachable for Westerners now. The Sleep yoga portion of the book hasn't been touched except to fix typos.
