Hi, I'm Dildy.
- 38 years / engaged
- female
- no kids
I try to keep this as a "notebook" for my progress and experiments with DILD.
I tried MILD and WILD but these techniques just don't work for me. (for now?)
________
My two only lucid dreams so far were both DILDs.
- First Lucid Dream ~2 weeks after starting
November 2022
Started doing random RC's during the day.
After two weeks I got my first Lucid Dream.
I was at my grandparents home and the house started moving.
Suddenly I knew this couldn't be possible and counted my fingers. NINE.
It was a dream. I was so excited! Luckily, didn't wake up.
Won't bore you with what happend because I wanna keep it clean in here.
After I woke up I was happy I did it, tried it again a few times but Life happend
and I stopped to care.
- Second Lucid Dream - Day 21 after starting
November 2024
This time I wanted to be serious about it. I was reading everything and tried out almost every technique.
At the beginning my fault was to try to lucid dream right after going to bed.
After a few nights laying in bed without any movement for 3-4 hours hoping to finally "make it",I knew I needed to start slow and try it in the REM phase.
Did RC's randomly during the day and asked myself if I was dreaming randomly during the day.
Mixed it with the SAT technique.
04.12.2024
My second ever lucid dream happend.
One of my scenarios I have from time to time in my dream is a terrorist attack.
But this time, when I saw the gun and realized it's a terrorist attack, I thought "I dream this quite often! This has to be a dream!"
While running, I did a RC. Counted my fingers, ELEVEN.
It was a dream!!!! I remember me being so clear in this dream and remembering everything I was reading about LDs.
I was looking around, tried to see if some things look different, I remember me touching wood to see if it feels different and even smell it.
I looked at cars and tried to see if there's anything different from real cars. I looked at writings to see if they change (they did) But I did all this because I wanted to start slow.
I told myself "if I lucid dream, I will first explore the environement." so I had a plan that helped me.
Then, I realized I'm waking up. Rememberd that spinning around might help to stay in your dream so I turned around.
I "woke up". There was a woman coming at me.
I "woke up" again. Just to try to write it all down.
My sister was visiting me and I yelled at her that I need to write the dream down immediately!
Then I woke up again. This time for real.
I had 2 FAs.
When I wrote down the dream, I forgot a few things which made me sad but I always remembered, this was just the first one of many to come.
I'll learn and I'll get better.
______________________________
My dream signs and scenarios that often occur in my dreams:
- I can't run, it's like I have glue on my feet
- someone is chasing me
- I can randomly fly
- terrorist attack
- Water slides / slides
- Tsunamis / big waves
- being too late to something work/school
- Can't find my classroom (out of school for 20 years)
- I have to go back to my class after skipping one specific school subject for weeks
- I have to climb or go down a really steep slope
- I once had a cat, sometimes I dream about her biting me or me changing her litter box after weeks of forgetting
What I do for DILD / LD
- RCs from time to time
- Asking myself if this is a dream from time to time
- I try to feed my subconcious mind as much as possible. I read a lot about LDs, watch videos, read other peoples experiences. The more I feed my SM with LD content, the higher are the chances I'll dream about it.
- Doing muscle relexation when I go to sleep so I fall asleep faster
Fails
Sometimes, finger counting doesn't work for me. I had two dreams where I counted my fingers and there was nothing unusual. So if one RC doesn't work I need to remember to do a different one.
Also sometimes obivous dream signs don't result in a LD. I was dreaming I was looking at a clock and it always gave me a different time. But in the dream I just thought my clock is broken even though in RL I already knew it's a dream sign.
Goal
So I wanna train myself to be aware of all of my dream signs. Everytime when one of these signs happen in my dream, I want to think "This could be a dream!"
I think I'll need to try to think about these scenarios when I go to sleep or even during the day and in that phantasy imagining myself doing an RC.
When I sit in the train: Imagine myself try to run and not be able to = Doing an RC.
When I sit at home: Randomly imagine myself being late for something and looking at the clock as a RC.
etc....
I know I could also do RCs with daily tasks.. like everytime I go to the toilet = doing an RC.
Everytime I see a baby = doing an RC
but I always forget about those.
___
So let's see at what point the next LD will happen, and even more interesting: how it will happen.
Keep you updated
