How to keep MYSELF from doing things in lucid dreams.

So, I've got a bit of a problem.

My id is a very, very horny sub-individual, possibly due to the fact that I haven't gotten laid in eight months.

This poses problems whenever I manage to become lucid. Primarily, because instead of summoning my dream guide as I would like, my first intention is, well, to get laid. And to get laid as much as possible.

So, I'm just wondering if you guys have any advice on how to stop my own dream self from doing something in a lucid dream that my real waking self doesn't want it to do?

Because I want to summon my dream guide already, but that horny little id is too preoccupied with getting his/my rocks off.

Masturbate several times before going to bed? My lucids often become sexual as well, but that's only when I'm not focused on my goals.

You could try using mantras to help yourself actually doing what you want to do when lucid. "I will find my dreamguide when I'm lucid" or whatever.

Uhm.. you need to practice some self control imho. If you are in lucid where you are in control, it can be pretty much as good as real life.

In case you didn't read his post all the way through, his real self can control his need to fulfill desires. It's his dream self that can't.

I imagine a mantra would work if drilled enough before going to bed. Instead of focusing on getting lucid, focus on your intentions once you get lucid.

I'm not on DV much these days, but I'll try to toss a cool dream or two into my DJ.

      Tambu, very cool avatar!

Funny, I just seconds ago posted on another thread about having this same problem myself. I hate it, and would love advice too. I suppose though committing to the idea of abstinence in LDs is really the only solution. For me, it's a waste of valuable LD time, time when I could not only be doing incredible things but also simply getting better at the act of LDing (rather than boning!). And in my case, the sex is never good: I just am not good enough at dream control to keep everything in line while 'LD sexing.' Check out one of my recent posts about a dream in which I had this exact problem. Luckily, I stopped the sex before the dream was over, realizing how futile it was to continue... and ending up killing a DC in frustration (haha).

Tangent: Killing DCs, a crime? I'm going to search past threads for the public opinion on this.

      Thanks

Anyway... I just remembered the program called brain flooder. I'm pretty sure there is still dl link that works somewhere in this forum. I wonder if it would help if you have tons of somewhat random or themed pictures without slightest hint to sex. I use flooder myself from time to time and I have to admit it works pretty well.

When you become lucid STOP, look around, and think. Be aware. think of what your dream goals are, and focus on them for a couple of seconds. this small time to become more aware will help your lucidity and stop your id or your dream self from acting out it's desires, and focus will be in your conscious self.

I used to do the same whenever I got into a dream, and a lot of it was because I wanted to do SOMETHING before the dream ended, but then I let go of that, and simply became aware and focused, that helped tremendously, and I rarely have lucids with sex anymore (sometimes at the end, but I've learned I can do it in the beginning now without any fear of waking up, and then get to my goals, which will happen with you if you just focus on your intent as well).

This tutorial seemed to help with self-control as well as dream time. Look it over, try it out.
