      Unique flying style, need help

Over the years I have been able to periodically control my dreams. I always have 2 go to moves, I give myself a sword and I fly. The issue is with how I fly. I haven't read any posts with people who fly the same way.

What happens that I realize I am dreaming and I want to fly. I do not know what my trigger is that lets me know I''m dreaming. Then I am automatically taken to the driveway at my childhood house. I start to run down the drive way and jump. Now this is where it gets weird. I suck in a lot of air and get really really big. If you are familiar with the old video game kirby, its a very similar style. My mid section fills up with a lot air and then I can fly. I look like kirby, but I dont care because I can fly where I want. However, just like kirby I can only stay up in the air for a certain period of time before I have to repeat the process and suck in more air.

My problem is that the more I fly the shorter I can stay in the air with out having to land. Then eventually I can no longer fly. No matter how much I want to or try I just cant suck any more air in and I cant fly anymore. Every time this happens I wake up shortly after.

I think the problem might be my flying style. However, honestly I really enjoy my flying style. Any suggestions on either how I can keep flying as I do, or a way that I can transition to a new flying style?

There's not really a trigger that causes you to become lucid. Most lucid dreams are caused by a sudden rise in awareness, when you suddenly realize, "hey, I'm dreaming!"

If you're expecting to not be able to fly as much after a certain period of time, it'll show in your dreams. The trick is not to think about how you'll be able to fly in the future, but just focus on what's currently happening. Anything you think of in your dreams, it can happen, even if you don't want it to. Expectations are everything.

I fly by pretending I'm wearing Tony Stark's Iron Man armor. And it's a very easy technique; you just imagine you already have the suit on, assume flight position, and bam!

You can also imagine you have wings, and with each flap you'll go higher off the ground, in whatever direction you want. Then there's the classic "swimming in the air" flying style, which is pretty self-explanatory.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Sounds like an interesting way to fly. Unless I can just jump into flight, I usually start walking and looking at the scenery. I'll start walking faster and faster, increasing my speed to a full sprint. Then, each stride gets longer and longer, until I no longer need to contact the ground. I'm still working in gaining altitude, but I can cruise along pretty well just over the landscape.

Thanks for the advice. I guess the problem may be that I start to expect not to be able to fly after a certain period of time. I need to find a way to overcome that. Also I like the iron man suit idea. I think rather than that though I may try to put on supermans cape. That seems reasonable to me, that is if flying is a reasonable subject.
