They say dreaming is dead and noone does it anymore. It's not dead, it's just been forgotten, removed from our language. Nobody teaches it, so nobody knows it exists. .. waking life

Yeah, I've had it happen before. It's difficult to get rid of a character like that because often, after they've annoyed you for a while, you assume that they'll come back once you get rid of them. A good way that I use is just to talk to them and tell them that you don't like them and you want them to leave. After that they'll probably just up and go out of the dream. If not, there's a few other tactics you could try, but that's probably the best.

That is annoying...I should know, b/c last night, I was just adjusting the difficulty to Fire Emblem (in my dream), b/c I love making games harder in my dreams, when a dolphin goes up to me & asks me to swim w/him. I tell him,"I already accomplished the dolphin task, so get out of my dreams!" Dolphins get so annoying once they get into your dreams!

In one of my earlier LD's I was flying on our former house's living room when my mom came there. She said that I shouldn't do it, grabbed my leg and I couldn't fly away. I tried to tell her that you can't do that because it's my LD and I can do whatever I want to. It didn't help though and soon the dream ended.

If somebody (or something) in a dream is annoying you I'd recommend just ignoring them. If you manage to forget about them they'll just go away. Of course actively trying not to think about something is easier said than done. But I think it should be easier in a dream than in RL.

      You're soo right.
      Hey, don't think about kangaroos!
I think it will be easier to focus on something else than just trying to stop thinking about something.
I told you don't think about those damn kangaroos!

Lucid dreamings all about the condition of the mind. Just like in learning to fly you must be fluint and 'just do it'. If you aknowledge his annoyance then the character will no doubt stay, if you focus and fly/run/warp away it should work to free yourself from the annoyance. You should try it sometime.

Well, heres what you gotta do... Ask him for his Phone Number, and if he gives it to you, look him up in a phone directory, and go to his house and kick his ass!

      lmao. Caine. lmao.

What are DC's anyways? Maybe these annoying ones are a part of the subconscious trying to revert to a nonLD state. Our minds are deep things. I wonder has anyone ever stood there in an LD and said to themselves now show me what you want me to see? Sort of used the LD state as an advanced search engine of the deep psyche?

I am new at this but the whole thing seems so damn cool. I had my first LD since coming here a few days ago and getting good at it is now sort of alife goal for me. I just think there is so much to gain from this type of exploration.

In my first 2 LD's, people would grab my wrists and ankles when I was starting to lift off from the ground to go flying. It was rather annoying, but also kinda funny floating 10 feet off the ground trying to shake peeps off my ankles.

One time several were holding my wrists and ankles at the same time and I decided to try spinning to make them disappear. Instead they just held on tight even while I was spinning like a tornado. Wierd feeling...

I think you need to acknowledge what your Higher Mind is trying to tell you. Sometimes dreaming is not just about dreaming. His Dream is telling him that there are too many distracting individuals in his life.

      Well, is there.

Do you have a thousand useless friends and meaningless social engagements cluttering you calendar, at the same time that you are complaining about annoying people interferring in your Dreams?

the old Lucid Dreaming propaganda used to claim that if you could do it in a dream, then you could do it in Life. But perhaps it is a bit of a two way street -- that you won't be able to do it in your Dream until you get at least some of your life squared away.

LD's are like the google.com of your mind, annoying dream characters are like SPAM. Try to imagine they are pop ups or something and then create a "pop-up blocker", lol. Just a thought =P

Sometimes you have to just use the Ole' Jedi Mind trick.. Simply say "You are leaving me alone now !" And they'll leave believe me...

Or maybe you could just tell them to morph into someone you want to meet in your dream. That opens up alot of possibilities
