Imagine and expect the flame to move as you want it to. Expectations are really powerful in a dream, and account for 99% of dream control. It helps to study how fire acts and what happens when it moves. Watch videos of firebending in that Avatar cartoon show if you need inspiration or ideas for what to do with the fire afterwards. :P
I put my hands in a postition to form a fireball sort of and i sort of flex my fingers(i know fingers dont have muscles but i cant really explain it) so then i imagine that there will be a fireball and last time i did it my hands caught on fire and i just jerked my hands forward why aiming at a guy(giggity) and the fire shot at him
i have done it once, as you can see in my DJ, but method is very ineffective when versing any form of opponent. last night i had an LD and couldn't dispatch three slow moving zombies :( , i just had to do the ignore test to get rid of them
actually i was getting worried because they were getting closer and fire was not coming out of my hands :/Quote:
Did you have total confidence that the opponent would become scared, and did you expect them to react in that way? If so, well, it might have just been a dream with poor control. That happens to everyone.
Fire has some pretty easy relations in the mind. Fire: destruction, anger, ferocity, etc etc. You should be good with just imagining it, but if that doesn't work, then get angry, feel the energy/heat of anger come into your hand and release into a flame. For shooting fireballs (or doing some kickass firebending moves from avatar) then just do a little shout of anger each time if that helps. Also if your angry, things will die. If it was me, I'd always expect the fireballs to explode when they hit enemies.
This is only speculation, I've never used pyrokinesis, but I have waterbended (hydrokinesis), and thinking of the water as calm, soothing, wavy, helped out a lot.
Pyrokinesis ranges from being able to move a candle's fire at will to being able to set something on fire. Creating fire out of nowhere is impossible, but with sheer determination you might be able to make something burn. This is accomplished by mentally heating an object which even though extremely rare is possible. I haven't personally done it, but I've seen it a couple of times.
Training:
A) Read This article to understand the basics of telekinesis. In order to perform pyrokinesis - or any type of kinesis for that matter - you need to have the same fundamentals required for telekinesis.
B) Get a candle and light it.
C) Take it to a windless place. Remember that you HAVE to move it with your mind without the use of any physical means. If you use the wind for example, you're cheating and it's not gonna work for you.
D) Now try to control the flame. Here's a tip: Make the flame seem like an extension of your body. Imagine that you can control it just the way you can control your hands. It will take you a while to get used to this feeling, but eventually you will succeed.
E) When you're able to control the flame, move on to a more difficult exercise: Create the flame. As I mentioned above, this can only occur if you mentally heat the object (In this case the candle) until it burns. Making the fire is impossible... just a note, creating ANYTHING is impossible - our mind is only capable of "playing" with the object rather than creating them.
F) Tips: Keep trying! This may take a while, but it's definitely worth it.
I hold out my hand, palm up, and just will it to happen and it happens. I just know it's going to happen, so it does. Then I blast it whatever way I want :D
I've always had trouble manipulating fire in dreams. I'm convinced its because my astrology element is water :cheeky:. Definately I agree with shiraniaori that fire represents something specific for a lot of people. Not that fire has to represent anger or passion, but that it just does for a lot of us.
If you were an element, what element would you be and why? Maybe that might answer why you have trouble with fire. Not so much as a problem believing that you can wield fire in a dream, as much as it is subconsciously you just don't associate yourself with the fire element. Or maybe, you need to explore your ideas about fire to make it more believable for yourself in the dream.
When I couldn't use fire at all in dreams, I asked myself what do I think about the fire element. Being an avatard :cheeky:, I decided that the fire element must be energy stemming from the core of my being.
So the next time I was lucid, that's how I treated the fire element. Rather than trying to shoot fire from my palms, I first imagined energy welling up from inside my being, raising up my hands, heating up my palms. And the next thing you know - a little flame. Okay, so I'm not much of a firebender, but it was still better than nothing.
Well, i haven't exactly had many induced lucid dreams, but the thing i want to do most is control water, strangely enough i can easily control/shoot fire from my hands, feet, even i could easily breathe fire. the first time i did it i just thought of the game "Bioshock 2" and how you could just shoot fire from your hands. the second time was in a different semi lucid dream where i just got bored and decided to play with fire again, i didn't do anything special i just sort of punched the air with fire coming out of my fist, i kicked the air and fire would come out of my feet, and then i just yelled really loud and fire came out of my mouth really high. but yeah, i would recommend getting angry as that seems like a really good way to try and control fire, maybe relaxing and being calm is the trick to controlling water.
