      Exclamation Problems trying to shapeshift

Last night i became lucid in a dream after doing a reality check. After i was aware i was dreaming i attempted to transform my body into a monster. I could get my fingernails to become claw-like in appearance but i could not get my body to become a monster because it took too long to transform. I lost my lucidity while i was trying to transform.

I tried this once in a dream before but the same thing happened (with the fingernails changing and losing lucidity afterwards). Is there anyway i could transform quicker without losing lucidity?

Look at a mirror, change your shape and then go through it?

Just take it one section at a time while looking at yourself. Picture all of your muscles changing at different rates, along with skin colour hair growth etc, and get into whatever stance (all fours, hunched over whatever) you'd think be best for it. Or try the mirror method like walms said. Look in it and just play around with your face like it's dough until it looks like what you want it to be.

You could also take a more passive approach and expect a potion conveniently located in the next room that you could drink that could induce the transformation. Maybe rage, or pain or the sight of the moon triggers it....things like that.

      Also Moved to dream control.

      Balloon,

The only two times I've ever shapeshifted, it was into something I already had a mental image of. One time it was a cardinal, and the other a fish. I closed my eyes and told myself was a cardinal, opened them up and I had wings and was good to go. However, opening my eyes landed me in a different scene--an area with a bunch of trees by my grade school, with rain bringing up earthworms for the eating.

The first time I tried this method on a whim, and tried it again and became a fish as desired. I haven't focused on shapeshifting lately, but if you can handle losing the dream setting, I think you'll find it helpful.

I run into your problem a lot. One thing that helps me is to perform an action for my new transformed shape, before I transform. Such as, if I want wings, standing around and trying to grow wings doesn't really work for me. But if I start flying growing wings becomes easier.
