      preventative dream fear

I just awoke from a dream, spooked and in awe; and I decided I had to record it before it slipped from my memory. werid thing is, it felt so real, that i dont think i will ever forget it, even if i wanted to. this has been happening to me a lot lately, and frankly, its beginning to worry me.

this is the third time within a couple weeks where i have dreamt and ALMOST became lucid. it has been suggested that these are merely "unstable dreams". in all of these dreams i seem to understand the idea of dream control, RC's, and i always preform the "spin in a circle" trick, to increase my lucidity. but as soon as i become close to doing so, i begin to get scared.

without going into too much detail, these past few dreams that i have had had some sort of demonic figure in it, which scares me out of sleep right as i begin to become strongly lucid. this latest time, which happened just 10 minutes ago, i saw the figure, tried not to be scared, and started spinning. i suddenly got a feeling that something was grabbing my wrist, and believe me when i tell you, it FREAKED me tfo. it felt as though it was pulling me out of the bed, and i actulaly thought i was going to fall off. i tried to wake up, while yelling to my roommate who was in the room with me, calling for help. of course no sounds escaped my mouth, and he had no idea that any of this was happening. as soon as i woke up he noticed i was weird, and he could tell i was just freaked out.

guys. what is going on with me. is this some sort of 'inner demon' that is trying to tell me something?
im scared its a warning to stop trying to LD, but that only makes me more curious.

Kill it. as soon as it grabs your wrist then maybe make wolverine's blades stick out and impale its hand. then summon an AK-47 and blow its butt-ugly head off. no more demon. no more problem. repeat if it pops back up. just remember, it's just a dream, and you are immortal! I don't know about warnings, maybe its your subconcious that's scared because it doesn't know about LDing, therefore it's trying to prevent it. i personally don't belive in "inner demons" and the "astral plane" and stuff like that, but killing the beastie is a good way to get out of that situation, plus it's fun . it may even be a good thing, you good RC everytime you see it! another thing you could do is talk to it. try to show no fear. maybe ask it in an innocent voice: "Whatcha doin'?" if it tries to pick a fight, kill it. otherwise make conversation with it, talk to it like you would a person. oh, and if you talk to it please tell me if it says something funny!

haha. all very good suggestions...really. the only problem is i TRY to do something about it. but i get so 'scared" in the dream, that i instantly begin to wake up. like i have said, i am still new to this whole thing. my dreams are becoming more lucid more often, and my dream recall has improved. but i have not been able to do anything "cool" in my dream cause as soon as i am able, this thing pops up and scares the shit outta me. lol

i know what i need to do, i just havent been able to do it. when i try to move, even if its just to get away, i cant. i am paralyzed. i get so scared i just wake up. everytime.

this world is crazy to me, and i think i just need time to get used to it. i will definately keep trying. andi will let you know what happens!

hmm... well i don't know if i can help you not be scared, i tend to treat dream adversaries as videogame enemies- just another challenge to overcome. therefore i tend to be pretty much fearless in dreams... maybe you should play more video games lol. another thing you could do if it grabs your wrist is grab its wrist and shake hands!
