Intending To Fly
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4U6T_BB1N8
I lived in Munich a few years back and worked very close to the Theresienwiese (the big field where the Oktoberfest is held). Every now and then I had to visit my bank during lunch which was on the other side of the field. I was always in a hurry and would imagine myself flying in order to get across faster.
Predictably, this would lead to a dream of flying in the next few nights. Since then I always try and imagine myself flying when I am late. I believe the most important part is not the visualization but the sense of urgency and putting your entire will into it - intending to fly out of a need for survival. When you do this you should feel a pressure in your chest, like you are a straining a muscle or reaching for something.
Let me know if this works for anyone! Also, I thought you guys might appreciate this video. Watching it before sleep should work too...

Thats actually how I usually fly in dreams. I use my arms as wings. I can hover and move at will, but it's much easier to fly this way because you brain expects physics to work this way.

That is lucky. I always tend to need something extra to fly, like sitting on my wallet or a carpet. I even once had a wing suit on! But I can always jump really high without problems.
