Can you really accomplish anything while you are lucid?

      Hello all.
been a while since I posted on DV. I have just been curious to know if all of you lucid dreamers can really do whatever you want in your lucid dreams.
I have been lucid dreaming for years now, but still have not got to the point where I can do anything I want. Example, I can fly, eat things, etc..
But I cannot do anything I want, like go to space, or shoot fireballs, those kindof things...
the reason I posted this thread is because last night I had a lucid dream and believed I was totally in control, but when I attempted to fly into space it just would not work.
so I kept telling myself "this is a dream, I can do whatever the f**k I want". but still no success.
anyone else struggle with this stuff?

I've had the same problems. My subconscious and conscious mind haven't been able to part from all the limitations of our 3D world yet. I've even repeated to myself the exact same thing. I've learned that you just have to expect it to happen, and just picture it, then it should happen. I'm still working on my control.

yeah, but some things WILL be harder than others. what i find helps is to find an excuse that at least makes a bit of sense. for example i don't know how to fly by myself, but i can do it if i find NiGHTS (NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams) and dualize with him, since in the game people can fly if they do that. or find a 'stone of flight' and use it. other things i do without assistance such as transforming things and people, and slowing down time. if you can't fly into space, then maybe read a newspaper saying something about a crashed UFO, go to the crash site, put some gas in the tank, and use it. or get a space suit, combine it with a jetpack, and fly off. for fireballs, find a dragon stone that gives you pyrokinesis, or find a wizard and persuade him to teach you the fireball spell. get DCs to teach you things, or find items to help you do things if you can't figure out how to do something yourself.

      Hope this helps,

It helps to visualize what you want to do, both in the dream and in advance - premeditate exactly what you want to happen, and it'll be easier in the dream because you'll know what to do. If you just believe something will happen, the dream may not know what to make of it. If you want a huge fireball, actually think of a huge fireball instead of just expecting it - a tiny flame might appear if you don't.

Pretending that you're in a movie and knowing that things can and will happen is good, but visualization is the next step.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

So to control your dreams properly you have to make them like MMORPGS?

that's the gamer's way to do it. I like videogames so that's what i do. there are many other methods, one i've read is to pull out a cell phone and call your sub-c, then ask it to do things for you, or to summon call whoever you want to summon and ask them to come to wherever you are. (don't remember who posted it, but it was on this site.) and there are also many other forms of control. BillyBob wrote a great tutorial on dream control talking about the 2 types of control: passive and forced. forced is: "I can do it because it's not real." and passive is finding excuses. You guys should read that, it's really useful.

Hi, I heard that company Artlumino creates new device that will enable you to control your dream content and (which is of crucial importance) it increases dream remembering. The device's name is Dream Affiro, by the way. There are some sites about them on Facebook and youtube.

wow. but how would it work? You would probably have to put leads on your head. I have had annoying encounters with leads.
when i have a lucid dream the first thing I will do isorder a pizza.

Hmm my last lucid I tried going into space. Well I intended to anyways. I was looking for a spaceship to go into space but I got distracted when I saw a house that looked kinda familiar.
I accept that my reality is always a dream so if something changes I know I'm right.

There is a confusion of statement here. What is it you ask, if one can accomplish anything or do what they desire? These are not the same thing.

If you want to know what can be accomplished, ask the question while entering the state-"Does Lucid Dreaming have any value." Pay attention to the answer. I have done this myself and got an answer quite unexpected.

If you want to know what one can or cannot do, you have to ask yourself by trying.

Well, actually Dream Affiro uses affirmations and some subconscious processes based on psychological knowledge, such as information consolidation during sleeping and conditioning. There is a new movie on Youtube about it. This time Richard Gordin, prominent sport psychologists, speaks about Artlumino product. It is interesting, check it out!

It seems like the best excuse for anything you want to do is to put on the Green Lantern's power ring. Unlimited power just like that.

I've come to believe that you are only limited in your LD's by your own inhibitions and preconceived notions. You may see space as an inhospitable void, so without even knowing it, you're blocking yourself from it. I like the idea of using tokens to lift those subconscious boundaries like the 'stone of flight.' It could be the key to breaking through your own limits and experience LD's to the fullest!

When I first started having lucid's, i had the same problems. I'm not very good at traveling in dreams but I'm quite good at fighting and the like. I always found it was easier to perform a technique from some anime or something like that when fighting. E.g. if I want to shoot a fireball, I won't just point my hand and think "fireball". I'll perform hand seals like the characters from naruto, and perform the fireball from that show and it will work. Or a kamehameha from DBZ is quite easy to pull off. The key is expecting it to work, and in my experience tying different effects to different "techniques" makes it easier to expect what will happen, and make it work. Another good example (from my dreams last night) is performing magic from the harry potter universe. If you remember any spells from that, get a wand and try it. hope this helps somehow

I think it is possible to accomplish anything, however the key is to work on a specific goal over a period of time. For instance, if you want to shoot a fireball and only try it once, it may not work. However if you try it again and again eventually you will find a way that works for you and it will become second nature.

I used to not be able to fly, or if I did I would have no control. So I used a car or a broomstick as training wheels. Now I can fly just by intent.

Same for telekinesis; can do that easily do to practice.

Once you learn how to have lucid dreams, you now can learn how to accomplish different goals. Just knowing your dreaming may not give you godlike control, but if you set yourself towards a specific goal it will manifest in time.

Its easier to do things indirectly, for example, to summon a DC, you would say "when i turn around, i will see (name)standing right there" and maybe visualize what they look like. Or, to spawn an object, you could say "when i reach in my pocket, i will find a (object) there" To change places, maybe you can find a door and visualize where you want to go while opening it and walking through. If you cant find a door, you can say that you will find one behind you when you turn around.

Lol, I tried to shoot a Kamahamaha beam one time. I assumed the correct hand position and charged up yelling louder and louder for about 10 seconds and... nothing happened. It was the first time I ever tried and I am still practicing at it. So yeah I have the same problems of total control as mentioned in OP.
