Cool post. But believe it or not this is already a technique. |

I figured out how to completely change a dream environment. This is useful when you have an LD when you're in your bed or in you house. Those are pretty boring for me. The technique is pretty simple. Instead of creating a portal to another place, you can just make a door to another area. Once when I did it, I didn't even need to make one. I found a door in the building I was in, and pictured rolling green hills behind it. I opened the door and BOOM. There it was. |

I also heard about that technique before. But I don't know it works. Is it really work or not? |

On a semi-related note, what do you guys think about using this as a reality check too? This could make lucid dreams more efficient since a lot of them start with false awakenings in your house - and for most people that's not where they want to spend your dream, but if in real life you practised opening doors and expecting a different landscape on the other side, you might do this in your dream and both end up somewhere new and realise you're dreaming at the same time - saving you a few precious moments when you become lucid. |

This could work, but in your dream when you opened the door it would probably be what is on the other side on real-life. Also, the other reality checks are much easier than opening a door : Say you are outside or at work ( in school for me) it would be difficult to find a door to open. But it works different for everyone, so, go ahead and try it. |

Yeah this is a really really used technique. But thanks for posting for the noobs that might not know. |

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride
