is this what happens when you try to create a person?

so last night i kinda became lucid and like i was spawning a DC but it was hard because i really had to concentrate on that DCs physical features and stuff, anyways, so the place i wanted the DC to spawn, like the air there started to shift and i could like see a bit on an outline of the person, then like the image was faint but then they finally came to life

is this how DC spawning goes? it was really hard for me to do

Not necessarily. It's way more easier to just use "passive" control and not "active" (what you were using) - just expect them to be around the corner, or when you turn around expect them to be behind you. Both methods use visualization but passive is 100x easier for most people. :)
