Your methods for changing a dream scene

I know some methods like spinning or walking through a door and expecting the new scene to appear, but in some situations these aren't possible.

For example last night I was flying above my old town (my second flying LD btw, was pretty awesome ) and I decided I wanted to be inside a warm room with some friends, but I didn't have a door to walk through, I couldn't really spin very easily in the air, and so I made the mistake of closing my eyes and imagining the scene, which woke me up.

So I need some more methods of changing the scene that work no matter where you are or what you're doing, any ideas?

Maybe you can try pulling an article of clothing over your face or putting your hand in your line of sight. That way you get the same essential effect of closing your eyes, just do you have to risk opening them in real life as well. I've never had any experience with these, so don't quote me on them if they don't work. Just thought it might be worth a shot.

Well the method I use most often is simply imagining what will happen. If I am running from someone, for example, I will build staircases, secret hallways, etc. as I run in order to confuse them. Opening a door and imaging what you will see also works in the same way.

I also try asking dream characters if my usual methods do not work. If I want to find a restaurant but there isn't one around, for example, I will just stop someone and tell them about a great restaurant that is nearby. I create the details and then ask them for directions. Works every time. You can also try saying what you want out loud. If you wanted that room with friends, then you could say "building" (building appears), walk in and say "room" (room appears), and so on. That works for me sometimes.. but I usually have to be specific and build from the ground up.

My idea is like Slumberless's. You just say out loud where you want to go and then walk through a door or around a corner. If you are flying you can fly through a cloud into your destination. I learned that spinning works but only if I keep my eyes open. If they are closed when I am imagining the place I will stay where I'm at.
