Teleporting by closing your eyes and opening them again?

Is teleporting by closing your eyes, thinking about the place you want to be and then open them again a recommended teleportation method? Or should I use another technique?

It may work for you, but it has been known to wake a lot of dreamers up as well. If it doesnt work for you I suggest using a door and imagining the world you want to go to behind it. If not that you could always give spinning around a shot. hope that helps!

Thats what I thought to. I tried the technique I mentioned earlier today and no success. Guess I will try the door or spinning.

It might work, but it's not recommended because unless you pay strict attention to what's around you, you can wake up because you're no longer focusing on your surroundings (aka the dream). Opening a door works very well and is the only method of teleportation I use next to flying.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Hmm whenever I try to teleport I close my eyes instinctively. I start to see the dream scene but it always collapses back to the old scene. I've had quite a few lucid dreams but haven't really focused on control. I tend to go with the dream. Or just summon people and fly as I please. I also tried the door thing but could see through the edges of the door so it didn't work.

In the end I think I'm trying to do the ToTm to hard. I should really just work on stabilization.

I wouldn't recommend that. A lot of times when i close my eyes in a dream at ALL i lose my lucidity. Everything in a dream needs your attention to exist, when you close your eyes your not paying attention to anything.
I suggest a door too it depends on the person, but, whenever i open a door i end up somewhere different every time. I dont even have to think about it.

It is an excellent method but only if you are in a deepened, stabilised lucid dream. As someone else has said doors are another way to translocate. I have heard that using mirrors also works well.

Please click on the links below, more techniques under investigation to come soon...

I closed my eyes to teleport through the door, once I opened my eyes I saw what's behind the door for a second then the dream faded .

A mirror may work. Some people walk through mirrors to teleport. Personally, i cant phase through anything in my dreams. I just suck at it. it may work for you though. :]

The few times I've attempted teleporting, I closed my eyes, as well. I woke up the first time and the second had a false awakening. Kinda iffy for me it seems

I've had some success with it, more success than with doors. Everyone's head works a bit different though. Last night I didn't exactly completely close my eyes, I only closed them halfway until the dream became dark and foggy. Then I imagined where I wanted to be and opened them up all the way. It worked!

I've done this once. It might make your dream unstable though...

Here are some of the methods I've used:
      Spinning
      Going through a door
      Going through a wall
      Closing my eyes
      Creating a portal
Vanishing into air and appearing some distance a away

Different methods work differently almost every time. It's just a matter of belief.

In my experience I simply approach the mirror, usually flying, and pass right through it. This has resulted in three things in the past:

      (1) I simply pass right through, traveling essentially to the back side of the mirror,
      (2) I teleport to a new location,
      (3) I enter a mirror-image world of the world I was just in.
