Why Cant I go through walls or windows easily?

Every time I get lucid and try to move out of the room I am encased in, I end up waking up due to effort.
I try to get through windows as seeing through these helps, but it seems even difficult for that, I sometimes feel the sharp glass go through me and this sometimes wakes me or in the last case the window just warped around me like a bubble and felt like thick elastic/plastic moulding around my body. I had to spin and eventually ended somewhere else, in an unstable dream.

I have tried walls too, but these are also seemingly very solid...

Any tips on how to deal with this problem of getting out of the rooms I am in?

this reminds me of the first lucid dream I EVER HAD. i was in my bedroom back at my mom's. i "knew" i was dreaming for some reason, and ran downstairs and ran into the kitchen, straight toward these giant glass double-doors there. i knew that "if it was a dream" that i would be able to pass right through them. i jumped right into the glass door and went through it, but woke up immediately afterwards.. i think it overloaded my brain's capacity or something... anyway.. after that experience. lucid dreaming became much more easy for me. you just have to take a sort of "leap of faith" i'd say. if you wake up afterwards. try the DEILD technique ;)

I get stuck in walls occasionally. The trouble with repetition is, if you start to expect that it won't work for you, especially in dreams, then it really won't. As a non-dream example, I've been trying to send a route (rock climbing) for a couple of months now. I've known all the moves, have enough strength and endurance to consistently make it to the top, but at one of two spots, I would fall. Every. Single. Time.

So I took a couple weeks off from the route, climbed other walls. Then, when I went back to it, I acknowledged that the difficulty was all in my mind, and I focused on just climbing. One move after another. And it was easy. Anticlimactic, even.

For you: take some time off from walking through walls. Blow them up, fly through windows, hell, dig your way out. Fly into the ceiling and dislodge the roof.

Once you've escaped in a couple of very interesting ways that you've never tried before, built up some confidence, then it's time to walk through walls. And you will, because you've always had that ability. There is nothing blocking your path, now, because you've already obliterated the obstacles in your mind.

I have trouble walking through walls and windows, too. In order to get out of my room or house i just open the door!

Well, I can´t really give you any advice with walls, (sometimes they let me through, sometimes not) but windows are easy. Here are some tips.
1. Windows are made of glass.
2. Glass is fragile.
3. See where i´m going with this?

Yeah, I would say at first to just use doors and windows as if they were real. Like opening them or breaking them. When i first starting lucid dreaming I would wake up every time I went through a door. I started letting DCs open them for me an it worked great. I've never tried to go through a wall, but now with increased confidence from having more LDs I can open my own doors and phase through windows most of the time.

If you visualize what gonna be on the other side, like teleportation... The same way you open door to teleport.

I have a dream history with walls and windows!! I understand how frustrating it can be. For me personally, walls and windows have had some sort of emotional meaning in dreams.

Windows ever since childhood was a doorway to freedom. Just the sight of a window in a dream is enough to make me wanna jump out of it and fly. That's not to say that all dream windows were made equal. Some were tiny. Others were barred up. Others were so dirty I couldn't see through it. What's always helped me fly through a window, regardless of what type of window, is to not focus on the window, but to focus on the other side. Once you've done that, the window just disappears. Remember, things in dreams need our attention to exist, so just look out the window instead. And if its too dirty to see through it, rub it clean!

Dream walls on the other hand, for many years, represented a barrier for me. When I first went to college something was taken from me. I didn't feel I could create art the way I wanted to, I had these professors telling me what art was about. Suddenly walls turned up in all sorts of places in my dreams. I tried to break them down. Shift through them. But then a new set of dream walls would appear.

Even the sky and the ocean had walls, until my entire dream-scape just felt like a box inside a box inside a box inside a box. I felt trapped!

But a dream changed my perception of dream walls, transforming the dream wall from a solid impenetrable barrier to a doorway. In this dream, I gave it my all. I was sick and tired of dream walls stopping me from going where I wanted. I pushed up against the dream wall until it gave way and I was going through it! It was so thick and gravely. It felt at least 8ft thick.

When I popped through the other side of the wall, my dream changed dramatically. It was so much more vivid and stable. The former dream was foggy and dark in comparison. But this new dream on the other side of the wall, I could feel the gravel beneath my toes. Eventually in the dream was another set of dream walls "stopping" me. But instead of freaking out or being angry, I saw the dream wall as a doorway to a new dream, and even better dream. I went through those walls, and again the dream on the other side was even more vivid. This continued until I could swear the dream was waking reality.

What do dream walls mean to you? Have you ever felt boxed up or trapped in a dream? Change your perception of the dream wall! It also helps to envision yourself as weightless, then you can shift through anything.

Some people just have little mental blocks. It's okay though because most get through them.

I haven't tried it lately, but in the past I have had a hard time going through walls/windows. In one dream, I became lucid while driving a car. It took all I had to go through the windshield in an attempt to get out. Since then I haven't made the attempt.
