Stability arrghh!
Hey guys so I've had two dreams that I 'class' as lucid. The main reason I say this is because I have become lucid, but soon after the dream just breaks.
The first time this happened I was bummed. The next time, I remembered to rub my hands together, and I touched the ground and felt each blade of grass (i was on grassy hill)
I don't remember being excited in either of the dreams.
Does this just sound like something that needs practise? Or are there things I might not be doing? Thanks :)
Also I know this is a common topic but I thought we could refresh it?

Isaace,
This could help you with dream stability...You must learn to "train" your subconscious to not awaken..Do this 30min before bed or so...Meditate.
Meditation is the act of calming your mind and focusing on an object, place, or thing. If you want to learn how to meditate, googling it is the best option to find out what works for you. I suggest googling something like, "meditation techniques" in order to pick the best option.
What works for me is listening to "trance" music. It is usually instrumentals and no talking in it.
Some meditation techniques include:
1) Sitting in a cross legged position or comfortable position for 30min, focusing on a happy place or thing with your eyes closed...
2) Walking meditation:: walking meditation is where you focus on walking in a line back and forth and focusing on a "happy" place or thing. This is similar to pace-ing...for 30min...eyes open of course!
3) Listening to trance/instrumental music
These are the three different techniques I have tried that work for me. Try them and let me know how it goes!
Sincerely,
~Icy

You will get longer lucids in time. Aslong as you're relaxed and focus on your senses when first realising you're in a dream, you should see an increase in dreamtime soon. Meditation is great for improving dream recall as it lowers stress and clears your mind before sleep. Although meditation before sleep doesn't do much to increase the length of the LD. I'm sure it's just because you're new to this, and like I said, you will get longer lucids in no time :) Good luck!

True Matte87...relaxing at lucidity can be frustrating...In my early lucid years I would loose stability when my senses kicked in. the realness of the lucid dream (sight, sound, touch) pull me out. Since then I've learned to check the stability before trying to venture off on a adventure. If it's not to stable I start relaxing within the dream first for a moment..stay calm take some breaths give your self a chance to relax in the dream world and become familar with the new sensations your feeling. Soon I was able to sense the lucid coming on then grab a hold of it and keep it for longer periods...improve this and lucids will be snatching you in....:)
