Locked doors.
Last night i went to bed drunk after a party and had a lovely lucid. It was crystal clear only faded a bit once which a slow spin fixed, and lasted at least 5 times longer than any lucid iv had to date.
My only problem was i was stuck where i was, on the shore of a lake town. I tried to teleport out, Failed. So next i tried to go to a row of houses and open the doors hoping they would take me somewhere else. Only my problem was they were all locked. I closed my eyes and made a fist and tried to summon up a key which i did! Excited i fit the key in the lock and as im unlocking the door the key breaks when i open the door its a solid brick wall. Discouraged i try flying, no bueno. Dream ends.
Any one have and good ideas or tips to help when stuck somewhere? I would have tried closing my eyes but last time i did that i woke up.

When you're stuck, try to overcome the obstacle naturally, for example you summoned a key to open the door. My dream control isn't that good, but I would have summoned something like a big hammer to smash the brick wall. The main part of dream control is having complete confidence that what you do will work. If you didn't really believe that opening the door with a key would be the solution, then bam, brick wall.

Pull a key out of your pocket, or just find something to do in that town, if it were me I would of looked for a cave containing ancient ruins under the lake

Have you tried walking through the wall or door? I've found that I can sometimes get to a new place by visualizing it as I walk through. I think it works because there's not "supposed" to be anything there; it's an undefined place that can be more easily overwritten than when you're straight-up teleporting (though I don't have much experience teleporting).

Be careful with closing your eyes - if you take your attention away from your surroundings, you might destabilize the dream.
Try making up a scenario to compensate for why the doors are locked. For instance, two doors to your bedroom are locked, so you "remember" something. You could say, "oh, right - I wanted to keep my parents out of my room because I was doing homework". Then, "remember" where you put the key - under your pillow. Then use expectations to summon it, like ShockWave said.
And like Toch posted, when you open the door, visualize what will be on the other side, don't even think about a brick wall at this point! If you don't think about anything when opening the door, the dream will fill the void with whatever it deems fit. And sometimes, what it fills in can really get in the way. :P

Destabilizing the dream is another way to put it possibly ending, by the way
