      LOL hard to fly?

Well, I had a LD last night (Read my DJ for more info) and I tryied flying but It felt a bit hard. I was flying, but a bit too slow.....
Also, I tryed to electrocute someone using my hands...I flexed my hands and lightening bolts came out, but didn't harm the person.....

What do I do so I can fly faster? Or actually be able to harm someone? Mostly, in my non lucid dreams, if I try to punch someone, they dont even feel it. It's really annoying...

Yea it often comes down to confidence and your belief of your abilities.

You could reassure yourself in your head that you can do it. Or something that helps a lot of people is shouting out loud something like "I CAN DO THIS" or do it more like a command like "FLY NOW", and stuff.
Just play about with different ways to reassure yourself. If you do something more physical like shouting, then you need to remember to pay attention to what you're shouting/doing, so that you're not just blabbing a ton of shit with no meaning to it.

So yea, so long as it gets deep into your head that you can actually do it, then it should be fine.

Don't feel bad, like they said, confidence is key, besides it was only your second lucid according to your count.

Yupp, just know you can do it and you'll do it. That's it.

visualization is key; if you don't intend on specific details anything can happen.

If I'm using machinery such as a jetpack to fly, I don't just think about the thrust generated by lift-off, I also imagine that the thrust continues to go as I'm flying. This way, your speed and altitude doesn't "wear off" because you stop paying attention to the force keeping you in the air.

Or, you can always just believe you're superman or something. In many of my lucids now, as soon as I become aware I naturally pretend that I'm invincible and can do anything (or whatever persona I decide to take on), and I act as if it's been like that "for a long time". I act as if I'm used to the notion of being able to do something. The dream will believe something more if you make up a backstory or excuse to be able to fly, even if you don't necessarily use something physical to do so.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

I have to jump straight up first to begin flying, after that it gets easier. Also, try to feel like you're "pushing" downwards. Use your palms or anything like that. That way you will get pushed upwards

During those times that for whatever reason I could not build the confidence required to fly, due to some self doubt, I found that "imagining" flying up into the air, just like you would in real life, can actually cause you to do it.
You have to be careful, because "imagining" too much can cause the dream to no longer be a dream. You can lose a dream this way, but usually if I'm having difficult, this will at least get me into the air so that I can see that I do fly.
---o--- my DCs say I'm dreamy.

Flying has always been like second nature to me in dreams. It's the one thing that I could do no matter how little control I had during the dream. What I typically do when I want to fly is get a slight jog going, and then just jump into the air. 99% of the time I end up just continually lifting. From there, if I want to fly faster I just land back down get a faster run going before jumping.

I've done it so much that I don't even really think about whether I can fly or not. I just do it. I think that's the key, like everyone else was saying. You just have to know it's going to work and go for it without any real doubt that it won't. Once you start doubting yourself, it's going to be rather difficult to take off with any degree of control or speed.

Watch superman movies, spiderman movies and iron man movies and then you'll have all you need to fly with ease in your dreams. I fly like superman in my dreams, ridiculously fast but it causes the dream to destabilize, so amazing though. Sometimes I'll be floating, and it'll be hard, i've only had 4 LD's but I'm working on it.

99% of the time I fly Iron Man-style, and like you I also go very fast. If you pay enough attention to your surroundings though, and don't expect everything to streak, there's a good chance you won't wake up. I haven't woken up yet.

Hey thanks for the tip, I was wondering how to stabilize that extreme flight, but I'm rubbish at stabilizing dreams in general, but it shoudl get better in the coming weeks when I can practice. I hope to be having a lucid every 2-3 days .
