      The Seed Teleportation Technique

      The Seed Teleportation Technique

      By Loaf c:

This is a theory I have developed for my own use. I would like to share it with the rest of the community as I think it may be beneficial to all.

      Background
Teleportation is not easy for me. If I spin, I stay in the same place. If I close my eyes, I fail. I've tried so many traditional techniques and they fail big time. So I came up with a new unique teleportation idea.

      How To Do It
When you want to teleport do this...

      1. Reach into your pocket, pull out a seed. Don't think about it, the seed will be there.

      2. Place the seed on the ground and cup your hands over it. Focus on where you want to go. Look strictly at the ground and your hands.

      3. In a matter of seconds the new location will "leak" or "grow" from under your hands and expand outwards. Soon the whole ground will be re-textured to the new location (if its a jungle, you will see dirt and grass and plants).

      4. Look up. You will be in the new location.

      How It Works
Basically, the new location "spills" out from under your hands. While you pay attention to this, you lose the "rendering" of the old dream world and your thoughts become saturated with the new location. Once the location spills, seeing the ground change will convince you the rest of the dream world has changed and you will see the new location when you look up.

Don't question it. Just do it, and believe it. It worked for me. Post your results or thoughts here. :3

I like how this actually has some sort of science behind this.

I would like to remind people that you need to pay all of your attention on the seed and not the dream scene around you.

Very true, it requires total concentration on the seed. And yes, this theory is based on the general way dreams seem to work for people, so it is considered, and hopefully will work for everyone.

Wow, what an interesting approach. I've never attempted to change my location, but I really want to now just so I can try this.

Indeed, an interesting approach. I find techniques that work best are those that are "sensitive" to the dream and can be integrated easily, rather than just using raw mental power and trying to force things onto the dream. Hope it works for you. :0

I've never thought of that. sounds plausible, I'll give it a shot next chance I get. Say I want a certain DC to be there when I change to a new dreamcape, any tips?

Interesting! I'll be trying this out sometime.

If you focus too intently on the seed, could it cause the dream to destabilize because you're not paying attention to what's around you?
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

The effects should be instant, its unlikely focusing too much will cause this as long as your lucidity is stable.

This is actually what most people get wrong about the "behind closed doors" method. They think "oh i want this door to take me to the blahblahblah place" and when they open the door it doesnt work. That is because they didnt just focuse on the door allowing the dream to change.

Also the people who do focus on the other side of the door have bad luck because its common since that a door in your house isnt going to get you to a magical land full of unicorns. Thats what i like about the seed method. Seeds are always growing something different.

yeah, staying focused on the seed taking you there is key, in any other technique as well. not focusing entirely on the technique but rather the technique working is what i found works best in what ive tried so far.

Oh, I just love this idea! Yesterday I read about the magic door teleportation trick, and it occurred to me that I basically never dream about closed doors. They're open archways. I also go through windows regularly. Of course, after coming to this realization, my subconscious saw fit to throw a closed door at me that night and I did experiment with it with great results...but this sounds even better! I usually change dream scenes by flying, but they have a tendency to be similar to the last scene. This sounds like a wonderful anytime, anywhere teleportation method that doesn't have any logical landscape continuation issue like flying, or reliant on a fortuitous closed door, which is exceedingly rare for me unless my subconscious is trying to be a smart ass. I'm already wise in the ways of pocket/hammerspace magic, so this is right down my alley. I'll do my best to remember to keep my teleportation seed on standby from now on.

Did you come with this while awake or did you figure it out during an LD? All my best dream control techniques arise during an LD... like the rewind button.

I came up with this concept in waking life. It really is just a logical theory based on my past experiences, designed to work without depending on something environmental as you said. I tend to struggle with teleportation so this idea seemed to work.

Wow this is a very cool idea! I'm not quite at this stage yet, but I look forward to trying this out.
My idea was always just using a crayon and drawing a circle to jump through like in cartoons, but this sounds a lot better. Thanks for the idea.

Dude xD cool trick but the "how it works" part sounds kinda stupid to me... i mean, its not a scientific fact that if you concentrate on the seed in your dream , the location will spill out of your hands. What i'm trying to say, is that you have some extra not needed false information. The way you describe the scenery to change its only in your dreams. That doesnt mean that if somebody else concentrates on the seed the scenery will change the same way as yours. Its not a technique, its more of a method to convice yourself that you are teleporting.

You can make up thousands of methods like this : e.g. eat a magic teleporting apple / open a teleporting door/ make up a super complex story that in the end you get teleported. Your imagination limits you only, there are no dream laws. Its pure acting, its making yourself believe something

      Sorry "dude" but not quite.

Its well known among lucid dreamers that objects, characters, and elements of the dream you don't focus on will disappear. Your dream is generated by your mind, if you aren't thinking about something it won't stick around. Dream settings are fluid and often the finer details change rapidly. It is also known that if you focus on something blank ignoring everything else, the entire dream will disappear and you will probably wake up.

Everything you do in a dream requires you to have an aim and actively think about something. I am not suggesting the new world leaks by itself, the explination clearly describes the logic behind how the technique works if you follow it; any method you use requires mental power. That isn't to say the seed method won't work by itself, if the reader expects it to happen now that others have gotten it to work that makes a significant difference to their chances of success. It is also generally accepted by lucid dreamers that belief in general is the biggest part of successful dream control, so yes if you try hard to disregard the method its not going to work just like anything else

There is no false information, this is a theory as described by the original post. Perhaps you should do your home work on the nature of dreams in general before criticizing a proven method.

No. This proves you have no understanding of how dream control works.

Eating an apple won't change the world around you, because you still have strong focus on the existing scene. A very experienced dreamer might be able to, but I can say without even trying it wouldn't be reliable.

Opening a door is very troublesome for most people. Some fail to find close doors, others see pitch black or wake up when walking through.

There are dream laws I'm afraid. Off the top of my head:

      - If you become over excited, you wake up
      - You will always be able to breath in a dream regardless of where you are
      - There is no time in dreams

Regardless, I make no reference to "laws" just the typical nature of how people react to their dream world. You are out of your depth here.

That doesn't seem like it would work for me. I can't pull something out of nothing, even if i "know" its going to be their. I usually just try falling on my back to where i want to go. Or just focus really hard and shoot out energy until i'm somewhere i want to be.

Not to sound trite, but you do realize that the only reason it doesn't work for you is because you don't believe it will?

The point of the explanation is mainly for the subconscious (I think) so that in the dream, you know that its possible/so u don't doubt that its possible. Am I right?
