      Flying Speed in lucid dreams

I am not very good at lucid dreaming but when i do have one i fly, it usually takes me 1 or 2 tries and i can get into the air but im really bad at controlling myself in the air, like i'll try and push off the ground really hard to start flying and go fast but i always do it very slowly and no matter what i do i just can't get myself to go faster. Any tips?

      Fly.

Don't try to fly, attempt to fly, or see if you can fly... Just fly, and do it at the speed you want.

That's probably one of the best things you can do in terms of dream control - not having a second thought about whether you can do something or not. Saying things like, "okay, I'm going to fly now..." just screams to the dream "I'm unsure about this!" and it's widely known that uncertainty is not good in a dream.

Try getting into character and fully know that you can fly at high speeds, because you've done it before - you haven't really, but if the dream has a reason for you to have the ability to fly, it will be easier to actually get off the ground.

If you've been on a fast rollercoaster before, recount those feelings when you push off the ground. Imagine feeling the acceleration and slight (but futile!) resistance of gravity, and feel the wind in your face. Also, if you imagine yourself floating back down to earth when you take off or something similar to that, instead you can imagine yourself going higher up. It may help to fight the feelings of gravity, which can often be the cause of lower-speed flying.

      Hope that helped!

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.
