I have the perfect solution for you.

1. Create portal.
2. Step through said portal into another realm, fly up high and observe surroundings.
3. Wake up and draw out everything you just beheld on a large map, noting as much as you can.
4. Go back into said realm and find civilization.
5. Find out where you are, who you are and begin another life.
6. ?????
7. PROFIT.

Nah, seriously. It's one of my dream goals and I'm yet to get around to it. I think going at it in a similar fashion to how you would in a role-playing game like Oblivion would be epic. Just pick a particular field that interests you (Star Wars, Lotr, whatever you're into) and find a world which has that kind of theme. Then all you do is really become part of it. Run around doing quests and all that jazz.

hmm it wasn't your post but you made a comment about there being a chance to go lucid every night.

Ah, yes. Well I've deduced there are at least 35 chances per week to become lucid. There is no maximum amount, however.
