      Tip for "teleporting"

So i know some people have problems going places or finding places so they want to teleport. I had similar issues because most of the time i get lucid i end up in my room in my house, which is a pretty boring place to be, even with the control of a god at my fingertips. I tried flying, which i can do quite well but i usually get random scenery, i tried spinning but i usually ended up back in my bed.

I found one thing that worked pretty well. I went to go up to the third floor one day and there were boxes on the stairs. I was wondering how to get over them and realized "oh... i'm dreaming i can just walk through them" so i did. Well that gave me an idea.

The next time i woke up in my room i went over to a wall that would normally lead outside. I walked through it as i did with the boxes, but i imagined what i wanted to be on the other side. I walked through the wall and ended up in a totally different place. I even took the time to create a sort of "dream office" I sketched it out on paper, it had a gun range, rooftops for easy flying, rooms for what i had always wanted to do. I sketched my room and connected the two through the "invisible door" Next time i walked through the door i ended up in the place i had sketched out (more or less, you know how errant thoughts create odd things in dreams sometimes) So perhaps this will work for you. Go up to a wall or even a door and don't just imagine where or what you want to be on the other side, just KNOW that it will be. I hope this helps!

I do about the same The one and only time i've teleported, I just visualized the place I wanted to be in. Then I smashed a wall in my room, knowing that behind that wall was the place.

This sounds like a good idea since my last three lucids have been wasted trying to teleport somewhere. I'll be sure to try this out tonight.

I actually made my own dream headquarters on paper a long time ago too. Only time I managed to try to get to it I ended up in a room that looked nothing like it. Might try again soon, perhaps.

Yeah, walking through walls is probably the best form of teleporting I've managed. I do lots of WILDs that start from my bedroom which is indeed boring so teleporting becomes pretty important. My problem with any kind of teleporting (walls, doors, mirrors, spinning) is that in that transition phase of darkness I often lose awareness or the dream. 'Knowing' is definitely the key though.

My preferred variation of this transport method (which is really your classic "door transport" with a personal flair) is to use a Portal Gun to set up a 'second' portal to the destination I want to go to. Really simple archetype manipulation when you get down to it, but it works exceptionally well for me, as I can skip setting up the 'first' portal, since as far as I'm concerned it's already been placed.

That said, much like the OPs method, this is my personal variation on the door method, and the number of people who'd be able to use it as effectively as I do is likely low.

I will however push the point that simple, absolute knowledge is extraordinarily useful when working with these sorts of methods. As such, it's often better to come up with your own, like the OP did.

Wow this is a good idea
I'll try this next time I'm lucid as my room has been starting to bore me.
I have ideas, better get to work now lol
I was so much older then, I'm younger then that now.

Sometimes I have trouble going through solid objects (although I can usually always do it after a couple tries) so I just got this idea of peeling walls away like paper. I haven't tried it yet but I think the idea is really cool and will probably work for me.

Sounds good. I'll try it next time I'm lucid. I used to attempt cutting a hole in space as a portal to a new place, but it would often just show what was already present in a slight variation e.g. changing the colors.

Nice tip. I use doors for teleporting....which is why the TARDIS is so convenient for me. It's really the door and not the TARDIS that teleports...the rest is just for fun.

      Think with portals.
      'Nuff said.
Plus, they're way more cooler than a WoW blink.
