Question Best way to change dream scene?

What is the best way to change your dream scene? Last night I was lucid, and I tried running through a wall, fully expecting my new dream scene to appear behind the wall.

Unfortunately, my vision just turned "black"... and I went through a false awakening.

      How can I correct this?

Well I've heard of it taking time to change like your mind not processing fast enough or something to that extent depending on how long before you had turned lucid. And I've never heard of anyone running through a wall to change dream scenes, some common ones I've heard of are like jumping through a portal, be it a mirror or one that you created via your will. Another that I've heard is spinning and imagining your dream scene changing to what you want, although this one sounds a little silly.

Huh? I've tried spinning also, but that too gives me this "black vision", which then turns into a non-lucid dream, or a false awakening.

Any other ideas? Or is my expectation just not strong enough?

Well, if that also gives you black vision then I might suggest trying to retain consciousness through to the next dream because maybe the change isn't instantaneous. Could be your expectation though.

Walking through a door is a good way of changing dream scenes! Sometimes, also, if your dream is stable enough, you can just close your eyes and imagine a new scenario.

I would imagine another scene or think to yourself "I got to get out of this". Spinning for me doesn't work either, because i rarely spin in dreams lol but i found that some things i do work.
Naturally i teleport to somewhere else or my dream finishes and continues to a different dream like a deild.

Yep, doors are the way for me. For some reason changing dream scenes comes pretty natural to me.
Goodnight and good luck. On and onwards, dreamers!

Walking through doors or windows, going up/down stairs and turning a corner works fine for me.

I think you could try the passive way of dream control.

I'm new to these forums, but I think what happened here is that you didn't know where you want to go. Whenever I transport, I know where I want to be.

Because you had no idea where you were going, you ended up nowhere I.e. blackness, emptiness.

The way I transport is just close my eyes and imagine I'm somewhere else. When I open them, I'm in the new place.

Ps whilst I'm transporting it feels like everything around me is spinning, then I open when the spinning is about to stop.

I am really bad at this, the only thing I can do is make a magical door to somewhere else. I don't know if you're like me or not, but it usually needs to be a magical door, other doors for me, usually lead to actual logical places.

Once, I changed my dreamscape, by walking on the outside wall of a house. I didn't know what was going to happen, so, once I put both of my feet on the wall and I was in a horizontal position, I ended up standing on the wall of this house, which was rotated 90º and almost fully sunk into the ground of a huge park. The new place was simply amazing.

Sometimes the "black vision" or void can be an interesting place too, so don't rule it out.

Ending up in the void when I'm trying to go somewhere still happens to me quite often. When I am there, I just start imagining the new dream scene I was trying to create, and it flickers into existence.

Don't see the void as a failure, its a blank canvas for your imagination!

It would be advisable too, that you should RC right after you "wake up" from a Lucid. Perhaps you haven't lost any.

Getting in, say, a public transport vehicle. For an example (and it's as true a story as a story about a dream can get), I was at school and got on the bus. Moments later, the bus dropped me off in the middle of a mall.

I did something similar once... only that it started in the north pole and ended in an ancient room lit by candles. The bus driver was always asking for whom the next "dream station" was coming up.

Check out my guide to changing your dream scene. I would say walking through a door and imagining another scene on the other side is one of the best and most common techniques to changing a dream scene.

ive read that just thinking of your new dreamscape then falling backwards is pretty effective. havent been able to do it yet but ill give it a shot and let you know how it works out.

I'm gonna try using the door/magical door technique :p I've had 14 lucids all starting in my bedroom, and in every single one once I try to leave my house or go to a new dreamscape I just lose lucidity or wake up haha.

I tried this thecnique this night in an unexpected lucid(at first I was spinning, but then I did this):

Close your eyes and image a new scene as vividly as you can (sights, smells etc.) Then, instead of opening your eyes, take your hands up to your head and pull down the black hood that you obviously are wearing. Then look around

It worked pretty well when I tried it

^ ^ I like the way it tricks the mind to start looking around.

For me, I try to use things that I know aren't solids, or don't seem like solids. I can walk through walls fine, but it doesn't seem like the right choice for a change of scene. So instead I use things like mirrors, portals, or water.
