Same as when I was a child
I remember when I was a very youg kid I would have lucid dreams all the time, from the ages of 5-10~ then they stoped all the sudden as ive read happens to many. In now 17, I ran into a site talking about lucid dreaming, and it brought back memories of everything that used to happen to me as a child in my dreams, including always waking up as soon as I became lucid etc. So I decided id start a dream journal and work my way up to having lucid dreams again, seeing as how I hadnt had one in atleast 7 years, and see what I could do...after only 11 nights of recording my dreams, I had my first lucid experience tho it was very odd. Im not so sure whether or not I had 2 dreams, or one, because of these 'false awakenings' I had. Dream started with me waking up in the dream world, laying in my bed, but the bed was out of place, in the wrong spot of my friends basement where I was staying for the night, this automaticly made me say to myself, "Theres something wrong here, this is a drea." Almost like a reflex of thought, and as soon as I became aware I was dreaming the dream fell apart and I woke up in my bed, back where it normally should be. I sat up..thought about what just happened, and started askign myself if I really had just became lucid for that 1 second, or if i had only imagined it...I came to the conclusion that I most likely only imagined it, and dismissed the dream as meaningless. I got up, went upstairs where I saw my friends father, he says hello to me hten walks out to the panty, comes back with a huge black fro on his head, looking almost like a wig. Im asking my self wtf is going on here, somethings wrong, then once again, the dreamworld fades and awake in my bed. This time I get up, and im sure all is real and walk outside the room, to see an odd picture on the wall, I cant clearly recall what it was, maybe I simple couldnt see because it was so dark in the basement, but seeing as how I had been lucid this entire time, but only being tricked by false awakenings, I realized something was wrong, so I decided to do a reality check, with trying to put my finger thru my hand, it had no effect, it would not go thru my had everything felt real, I was about to give up and go thru the rest of the dream unaware of what was really happening, but I had a feeling inside that something was just not right, so I did the test where u plug ure nose and try to breathe thru, and I sat down and tried this for a good 2 min to make sure I was correct, and yes, I could breathe, I was indeed dreaming, I had been dreaming this entire time, and I had almost been tricked by the dream into believing that when I had became lucid, was only my imagining it, im sure if I hadnt done the nose test, once I had woken up, I would have forgotten the dream and pushed it aside as worthless. That however was not the case and I was now completely lucid, I got up, and the dream state seemed very shaky, ver unstable, and I was struggling to stay in the dream, I decided to stay calm, move slow, and try some tests. So I go over to a light switch, try to turn it on and ofcourse, it does not work, I next move to the bathroom to see if I can see myself in a mirror but it is so dark, I cant see anything in the bathroom, so I decide to head to the door that leads upstairs, so that I may find some light, and as soon as I open the door im over taken by a huge beam of light, which knocks me become and begins to destroy the dream, as I feel myself waking up I remember to do the spinning technique to try and stabalize the world, but it didnt work at all, and just as it would be when I was a child, I woke up, only being able to stay in the dream world for a minute or so after being fully lucid..what am I doing wrong, what do I need to do stabalize my dreams ? And by the way, that night I had slept thru the entire night not remembering one dream, gotten up at 8:30 and thought about my lack of rememberence of the nights occurences which ofcourses made me upset, watched tv for like 30 min, then went back to bed tryign to remember the lost dreams in my mind, which is when, this whole lucid experience occured.
