      A question about Dream Control...

Ok so forced control tends to make your dreams shorter and less stable, but what if you tell yourself in a dream that you are in fact God and that you can do whatever you like. Is that the same thing or would that keep the dream stable while still being able to fly like superman and raise cities from nothing, etc etc. I haven't tried it personally, as I'm having trouble attaining lucidity a second time, but if anyone HAS tried it or LD's often and will try it for me please share with me your findings. The reason I wanted to LD in the first place was to be able to do whatever I wanted with no natural laws or constraints, but I'd rather go the passive route than wake myself up all the time.

The longest LD I've had was one where I literally let the dream dictate what happens. I basicly became an actor in the dream world. Think of the dreams like Inception; the more you try to change the less stable it becomes. I think the next time you're LD-ing you should try different stabilization techniques, and maybe when the dream is stable enough you'll be able to do more things. Don't try to rush though, build up from little actions to bigger ones (such as building cites from nothing).

You can do whatever you want, just find the easiest way to do it. Instead of watching a city rise turn around and have it rise behind you, maybe see the shadows of the buildings on the ground. Or you can close your eyes and feel what you want to be there, and then open your eyes and it will be there. If there is something you want to do but can't find away around the problem and do it anyway.

What do you mean the easiest way. I mean, how will I know if I'm making the dream unstable? Will stuff actually fall apart like Inception. In my first lucid the sky starting falling as I woke up but I thought it was a coincidence. -_-

I don't mean things will fall apart literally, unless you dream in the style of the Animus from Assassin's Creed, in that case be aware of sharp pixels when that happens (du dum tish). More or less, when you're loosing a dream, details seem to blur out, and there can be an almost "tunnel-vision" effect that slowly creeps up making the corners of your vision dark until eventually it's just blackness and you awake. When I experienced this before in one of my dreams I did the spinning technique, which is good because you can change the dream scape doing it.

Really just keep your eyes open on the clarity of the dream and as it fades, to either the spinning technique or do the rubbing-palms technique. I've never done the later technique though.
