Hi, I dunno if this is where I should post this one but just want to ask something.
My friend have LD's before but right now she's loosing it, she can't lucid dream any more and she's facing this problem for probably 2 moths, so can anyone suggest anything so that she'll have lucid dreams again?
I'd be glad if there's someone who'll give an effective advice. Thanks.
You have to be more specific on how she's "losing it."
- Is she going through some difficulties in life that causes her to get less sleep than usual?
Does she have an illness, disability, or something like that?
Does she keep a dream journal (electronic or physical notebook/paper/etc) ?
Is she motivated anymore? (to lucid dream)
I know I don't have as many lucids compared to non-lucids recalled in my dream journal entries, but if your friend had LDs before, maybe they're stressed out, or too focused on trying to find techniques to induce them.
But other than that, it depends on her situation for any advice to be given honestly.
No, she doesn't have disability and illness. She really likes havin' LD's that's why she always have her Dream Journal. I asked her if she have some problems with her family with someone else but she said "nothing".
Maybe you're right it's because she's very eager to get more LD's and she really want to master it. Does it really have an effect like that? You know, losing the ability to get lucid...?
Could you ask her to elaborate her technique? That would really help identify the problem!
Well, if she has a strong drive to lucid dream, it can actually help her have more than usual, but if it gets to the point where she gets too eager that she's concentrating on mastering all techniques in a short span of time instead of trying one out for a few weeks, or even a few months, it becomes counter-productive.Quote:

I'm sure the majority of people who lucid dream are focused on a win-lose type of situation where if they don't try this technique and do well in it, they'll feel that they lost, and sometimes brings down their motivation to lucid dream.
To simulate those feelings when one first became lucid, one where they logged, the anticipation, the rush, the excitement, the joy, where they finally found how it can make their lives more fun, that's hard if she works too hard for it and becomes exhausted from it.
I admit that happens to me frequently, I'm always trying to LD to get a quick rush, and it's so hard for me to calm down and go research and trail-run techniques one step at a time. I have a long ways to go, but I'm going to keep aiming for it. She should do the same, and have fun doing it.
Making sure she has fun will make the "work" of the inductions less of a chore.

Also, suggest to her to try and keep up with her Dream Journal as much as she can, even if she has some moments here and there that might drain her motivation.
It's a progressive thing, some might get there quicker, some might take longer to get there, but daily practice and perseverance will continually improve both sides.
Also:
Maybe she can try to join in on DV Academy (I haven't been aware of their admittance deadlines for a while now, but it seems it's pretty active when I glance over on-topic sections).
If she likes hand-on learning from the professors in DV Academy, and likes things where it's "homework" based and/or "do it at your own pace" kind of thing (i.e. like dream yoga could be a "do it at your own pace" and dream stability could be a "homework based" thing she could implement) try asking her if she's willing to try that out.
And if not, the information is right there if she wants just self-teaching.

Thank you Linkzelda^^ , She said she experience LD accidentally and she found it amazing that is why she's very excited whenever she want to have LD. I told her to practice some simple techniques . Thanks again^^
This will sound silly, but it's actually a question many people forget to ask when things like this happen.
Just as if you had lost your keys you would ask yourself "Where did I put them last time?".
In this situation when you have had lucid dreams but suddenly lost the ability to induce them again you can ask "What did I do last time that I don't do now?"
This however has a much more complex answer, because those days she were perhaps less stressed, went to bed at earlier bedtimes, or something else only she can answer the question.
Although those two I took as examples are the most common problem I see people make and as Linkzelda said it can aslo be counterproductive to be too concerned with results.
So yeah in short try to find out what changed. :meditate:

Thanks Mastermind, I agree to the both of you (Linkzelda) My friend(Sandy) got too addicted to LD by the time that she had her first LD actually she experience it without practicing then the next time she wanted to have she can't so she consult me if I do have LD too, then I said "yes" and she keep on asking how to have it again. Now she's very eager to have LD's.
