Competition for all lucid dreamers :)

After reading Djpatch999's post here http://www.dreamviews.com/f12/all-th...3/#post1964696 I've decided to set up a number of weekly competitions. The goal of each competition will be to test the limits of your lucidity and to complete a difficult lucid goal. Whoever does it first gets 200 points from me If anyone feels that they have too much points send me a PM and maybe we could make this a regular thing.

      First Competition
This weeks goal will be to loose your body and gain omnipotence. Competitors must
      • loose their body and become a soul or singularity
      • try to become one with their surroundings
      • eventually gain omnipotence and feel that they are everywhere and in control of everything

Post your progress here, and once you have the lucky lucid post it here in a spoiler to win

I'll join in for the fun of it, though for the record I'm completely terrible at remembering my goals in lucids, I just work with what's in front of me lol. But on the other hand, this first goal is something I already actively work on in dreams, so I may get lucky.

Hi dutch, what happens if I can pull this off. Do others keep trying? Normally I would not truely feel omnipotent, just totally in control of the lucid stuff.

I'm in for it, even if I am not that good with LD I think of it as an extra motivation and who knows maybe I get lucky x)

That's quite a difficult first challenge haha. Maybe start with something easy like levitating.

But apart from that I think competitions could be a good method to achieve lucidity and gain more control over dreams.

It should yield some good results even when the challenge is not completed.

So maybe we should do something like a daily challenge? And the reward shall be the respect and admiration of others. Followed by fame and glory!

Count me in. I might forget though. I normally only remember the task I wanted to do like two weeks ago during LDs. haha. That is how I made it to the moon.

Anyways. I think that I am getting better (last time I dreamed I did pretty close to what I wanted, just forgot a few steps). Yall are gonna deal with an up and coming LDer.

      @citruspsyche
I do think that there should be something in between try to LD once in the next week and reach omnipotence. but this is Dutchraptors favorite thing to do, so that is why he started here. there is a tutorial about how to do it on this site somewhere if you don't know how. I think that this is to get us to develop the more crazy skills, like 360 vision and omnipotentness.

You pull it off, post your dream, I award the points for the week. Others can still try for fun. I want you to try feel true omnipotence, convince yourself that you are in control of everything. You don't really have to get it fully but if you get close it would be good

Sorry if the competition seems a little hard but believe me it's not. What I want to show is that it is possible to do almost anything in a dream once you focus and convince yourself. I wan't to make it a challenge so people can try this themselves.
I could add more easier daily challenges without a prize for people to try, but the weekly thing will remain until all my points are gone.

Nice to hear such words from an progressive lucid dreamer. I guess you have to get completely rid of the negative mindset, that it is hard to get lucid dreams or that it is hard to do what you want in lucid dreams, before you really can make progress.

I also like the idea of weekly competitions, thanks btw that you do this dutchraptor.

I always thought why doesn't there also exist a weekly competition which are a bit "harder" or better said more complex than the TOTM. I wrote harder first mainly because the time is shorter for accomplishing the task. But I guess complex is the better word, now that we also have said that in dreams nothing is really hard
So I find it more complex than some of the Task of the Month because you have actually to do more things for accomplishing, and at least this week the goals are also a bit more abstract, than I know it from the TOTM I read.

Abstract refering to the part of trying to become one with the surroundings and feeling omnipotence! I am already eager to read the dreams.

No problem oceandrop I have always expressed optimism on this forum and I think it is one of the main reasons to my success in DEILD and dream control. I really just want people to see how much wacky stuff there is to do in a dream, more than just fighting and flying and other generic stuff. The mind is capable of producing experiences close to what some people describe after talking hallucinogenic and I think it is amazing that not a single supplement is needed.
I can't wait to read what some people have come up with and to see if they are as amazing as my own. Good luck and I hope you get lucky .

A challenge hah!? Count me in! This actually sounds quite interesting , I usually control a particular object or a scene ,but I never really tried to change to gain control of everything around me (maybe only once...). Also when I have a big goal for LDs I usually get more of those so it might boost the number of LDs I have XD.

I have a really good idea on how to do this now. mwahaha! It is something off of star wars that someone did when they accidentally became one with the force while still alive. They didn't do it again since they figured it was of the dark side, adventure time for Brandon! looking in my pocket for the material is too easy, I will go find it in a nearby house or in the forest.

I thought this was going to be another one of those "ToTM" type threads with stupidly easy and useless tasks.

      Color me surprised.

Of course, I won't be participating, as I've done this before and have a simple method for pulling this off whenever I want, so it would feel like stealing your monies. That said, this is definitely a good first task. Very achievable, but seemingly advanced enough to break some of those lingering reservations folk might have.

I like the idea, but as Mzzkc says, if you can already do this and know it, we should let others work it out. Here is a hint for everyone that may help. Learn to erase things. It is all you, created by you, so you can erase any part of it. When you can make things cease to be, it reinforces the fact that none of it is real, and all of it is created by you. I don't know if that makes sense, but it is what I would do. I like erasing everything, if I waant to feel omnipotent. Then with a clean slate you can craft the world exactly as you see fit.

On another subject from a post above, you can experience things just like hallucinigenics cause. I did LSD and mushrooms in the 80's an sometimes in LDs I was not sure if I was tripping or dreaming, the two were so alike.

I have only been lucid once, and I just stood there for a minute trying to remember what to do. I then woke up.

Is there a time limit? I have been on a complete low for lucid dreams, and last night I literally didn't get any sleep. I will try hard and get lucid tonight. I should have a good REM rebound (though I have never noticed it before).
