      Repitition

Hey yall Im still rather new to these forums and wasn't sure if i should post this here but here i go anyways. So I haven't lucid dreamt in a long time and when i do its usually random. However, when I nap during the day, if i want, i can attain lucidity no problem. So i decided to do it today since I haven't done it in a while. This brings me to an odd occurance that I was hoping some of you may be able to offer some assistance. As soon as i attained lucidity I was in my bed, but i was virtually paralyzed. I found it very hard to even lift my arms or move my body. Usually when I spawn in my house I jump out the closest window but i couldn't even get out of my bed. Finally I managed to roll out of bed by closing my eyes and imagining i was on the ground. As soon as i opened my eyes I was on the ground for a split second and then i was back on the bed again, paralyzed. Long story short, I kept 'restarting' in my bed paralyzed. Another feature of this was that it was very choppy, in the sense that the dream was almost skipping, as if i was only half lucid? Thats the best way I can describe it, hope someone can help. Thanks!

Sorry for the late reply, and welcome to the boards.

What you described is a false awakening. What this means, for sake of clarity, is you were dreaming that you were awake, and it's super realistic (though you were at an advantage since you knew it was a dream). The trick to getting out of these loops, as I like to call them, is to consciously change the scene. If you restart when you go to floor, imagine and force your dream to change the setting when you roll over. With practice, you will be able to roll out of the scene.
